I love the thread title!

dewmeadow · 08/06/2006 10:22

does it mean what I think it means?

(snigger)Grin

JackieNo · 08/06/2006 10:40

Nice one, WWB. Sorry to hear about the D&V - maybe you can try to look on it as a detox and some instant weight lossGrin.

WigWamBam · 08/06/2006 10:40

Yes, it means what you think it means Grin

Blame Hub, it's all his fault Wink

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 08/06/2006 10:42

Jackie, I did think about cheating and weighing myself this morning instead Grin It seems to have stopped now, but I was up all night until about 4am ... am knackered now.

JackieNo · 08/06/2006 10:43

Poor you - hope you can take it easy today. Lots of water.

WigWamBam · 08/06/2006 10:47

Actually yes, I will try to drink lots of water. I haven't actually had a drink yet this morning Blush

Am going to get some water now ...

coppertop · 08/06/2006 13:06

Poor you, WWB. :( I hope you start feeling better asap.

hub2dee · 08/06/2006 13:28

Yay !

I might have to wrestle with the schneebley one... (I have ww weigh in on Thursdays, see):

-2.5lbs, total loss 11.5lbs.

DW, who is also on WW is now on a total los of 14lbs (same time at WW as me) !

A woman in the class got her '50lbs lost certificate today' too...

hub2dee · 08/06/2006 13:37

(Oh and thanks for the non-gender-specific title, WWB. I hope your motions stabilise. Smile)

Fauve · 08/06/2006 13:38

I'm really impressed, Hub, and not a little Envy (I'm building muscle of course Wink, which is just so HEAVY)

I hope you feel better soon, too, WWB. There are a lot of bugs going around Sad

WigWamBam · 08/06/2006 13:39

I didn't ever mean to exlude bear-grapplers from the threads, Hub ... but glad you approve of the non-sexist title anyway!

Well done on your 11.5lbs as well, and your dw too - 14lb is brilliant.

hub2dee · 08/06/2006 13:47

I know, wwb, the title never really bothered me, but I do prefer the new one.

Dunno if you remembered but a while back I did my back in (again) from all the gardening / lifting etc. I had back pain for about 4 weeks solid before seeing this woman who does sports injury massage. I've had three sessions now and the back is doing very well, with the muscles becoming much smoother and less knotty. It's the first time in my life I've ever had a massage (lard arses may empathise...). Anyway, they're friggin' great and my mobility has improved enormously. Combined with the gym and pilates things are looking up !

hub2dee · 08/06/2006 13:49

btw, ain'tme Wink, are you 'eating healthily' alone or with a group like ww ?

Fauve · 08/06/2006 14:10

Well, I'm using \link{http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/lostart.htm\this website, Weight Loss Resources}, so basically I'm logging all my food intake and exercise and trying to stick to 1100 cals a day plus any extra ones I can notch up through exercise. I'm really not into deprivation, and so 1100 cals a day is seriously challenging: but that's what my target needs to be if I'm to lose a mere 2lb a week.

I stopped using the website over half term because things fell apart - ds was sick and everything went belly-up (so to speak).

My dd is currently my personal trainer (she's 8) by urging me on when jogging to school. However, I'm generally not discussing weight loss issues at home, for fear of giving either kid anorexic ideas.

WigWamBam · 08/06/2006 14:16

Fauve, 1100 calories is a seriously small amount! When I did my Rosemary Conley classes, the lowest amount of calories that anyone diets on is 1400 calories - the theory being that a lower intake can slow your metabolism down too much and so your weight loss stops. I was meant to have 1800 calories a day, was eating far less and not losing ... when the instructor gave me a (metaphorical) kick up the backside and I upped it to 1800, the weight started falling off. (Obviously it didn't stay off, but that's another story!).

Are you sure 1100 is all you should be eating?

OP posts:
Fauve · 08/06/2006 14:21

Well, that's what the website says - maybe it's crap! It IS incredibly hard - you only have to eat 4 apples or 2 bananas to have made a serious dent in your allowance. Maybe I should re-programme it to aim for 1lb a week loss. Hmmmm. Thanks, will look into all this...

WigWamBam · 08/06/2006 14:25

Try upping it for a week and see what happens - it can't hurt in the long term. Honestly, 1400 calories is the minimum anyone starting RC eats a day, and most eat more. As those on more calories lose weight their allowance drops, but it never drops below 1400.

OP posts:
Fauve · 08/06/2006 14:39

Oh, thanks, I thought it was incredibly, erm, challenging! I really hate calorie counting, which is why the website seems good for me, cos it just does the calculations for you. But I'll reset the target.

schneebly · 08/06/2006 18:18

Just checked this - surprised about the crown! Shock I have a feeling it is going to catch up with me this week! Hub2dee - I warn you - I am noty a lady you want to wrestle! I am probably bigger than you lol!Grin

hub2dee · 08/06/2006 19:57

Yes, but are you ticklish ?

LOL.

schneebly · 08/06/2006 23:10

OOh you may have got me there! I am the worst! My screaming when being tickled is so piercing no-one can listen to it for long though! Grin

schneebly · 08/06/2006 23:11

By the way I think it is great that you and DW are doing WW together - DH and I are doing SW together!

dublindee · 09/06/2006 08:02

Sorry I missed weigh-in.
This week was crazy!

But drum-roll please.....I lost a half a pound, WOO-HOO.

Still it's better than nothing I suppose.

Anyone have any tips for me surviving the next 5 days in Dublin for Mum's 70th birthday?

schneebly · 09/06/2006 08:14

Hi Dee! 1/2 pound off is in the right direction! Smile I hope you have a fab time at your mum's birthday! (Happy Birthday Dee's Mum!) Just enjoy yourself! You could always have diet mixers with your drinks and dont deprive yourself too much with food - have what you want just not loads of it! Smile
