The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

Three weeks to go!

How are you all doing?

Anyone Ubercamping this week?

Good luck. Still time to shed almost half a stone if you really stick to your knitting! Grin

Thanks MyHeasWasinTheSand Yes, thought as much! So I kept schtum.

I think it's like someone else said today, it's like this is a little family, and when someone disappears you worry about the other 'family members'!

Thanks BIWI - I need that article as a handy link to show someone. Got into a heated debate with one of my GP friends the other day....he wasn't having any of it (LCHF). Most frustrating Hmm

It's irritating when people dismiss your arguments, isn't it? And when you find out that there's actually no evidence to support the 'fact' that fat is bad for you it makes me very, very angry.

If you fancy doing a bit more reading, I can highly recommend "The Diet Delusion" by Gary Taubes (Also called "Good Calories Bad Calories" if it's published in the US).

And another book I'm reading at the moment that's also a revelation is Dr Michael Kendricks "The Great Cholesterol Con".

Willie Grin (sorry)

Oh eeeek....Toby Carvery tomorrow afternoon.....I need not fear it surely. Avoid potatoes, parsnips, carrots but have the cauliflower, cabbage etc. Have the fattier meats....am I allowed horseradish sauce? Bet I'm not .....

No gravy....oh he'll might send DS and his Dad in their own and come back for my own meal here.

BIWI · 25/02/2013 18:28

Carvery should be good/relatively easy - just do as you say! Horseradish does have carbs in it though - although a small amount should be OK.

And gravy, sadly, is usually thickened. The thinner it is, the less flour will be in it.

But don't stress about it too much. Overall, it will be a much better, more carb-friendly meal than if you were going to a Chinese restaurant!

Avoid the pork and the gammon, as they have honey/apple and look too sugary.

Also, the website says there is a choice of gravies, so you may find one that is more like a 'jus' - i.e. not thickened.

NoveltySlippers why don't you PM her - I'm sure she'd love to hear from you!

Phew....yes will check out their website as well. Will avoid the pork and gammon and go for beef. Hopefully can be as carb friendly as possible.....

Am still feeling okay actually.....had a carb flu moment a while ago...lasted about half an hour before subsiding. Feel okay at the moment so hoping it will fade out after about 30mins each time. Am not hungry, no carb cravings....can't believe how good I feel.

Running but just to say my inlaws and the extended family eat like the woe and have done all their lives and I am ashamed to say I moaned when I first stayed with them there were no carbs :) my mil kindly bought some potatoes and pasta, served it but only me and dc piled in. Not anymore though! She's in for a shock:)

All saucisson, foie gras, pâté, meat cooked on barbecue, my mil has a recipe book handed down ( in bits which I have secretly copied in the dead of night and am turning into a book for her)

They are all slim, healthy, young looking etc etc. Pass the butter please!!!

B: Lidl Yog
L: Naice bacon and avocado salad
D: Tahini turkey and roast veg

I'm experimenting with tahini as I love sesame and the Meridian brand is 0.9g/100g. If it's a go-er I'll stick it on the recipe thread.

Some super losses and positive stories today.

MrsRinsky how exciting about the interview. Have you worked out what you're going to wear? I had one the other week and realised too late that all my worky clothes were two sizes too big Confused

Toby Carvery do salmon fillet with a lemon and herb butter....would that be better with some beans and cabbage or something. Not going to stress too much but really want to make a go of this.

Hope you have all had a good day. Just got dd1 back from brownies and about to have supper. Halloumi and salad for me. Lots of water today too.

Look forward to proper catch up later on this evening.

Well, I've had a hell of a day. School bus didn't turn up to pick up dd this morning so I had to take her in a cab, which cost me £15, as well as the £5 I already paid for the bus. Got back to pick up ds and take him to nursery. Ds was sick and then did a massive poo, really delaying our leaving for nursery. Finally got out the house for work at 10.30 (very late), it took me an hour to get across London then my train was delayed. It finally came in, everyone got on, then had to get off again. Got to work at 1.00, cold, hungry and with a bad back from all the stuff work made me bring in. Work let me go (not for being late, they are going to replace me with someone cheaper and full time) so came home again, now jobless for the first time in my adult life. Waited half an hour in the cold for a bus, then tube had 'severe delays' so had to get another taxi (which I now cannot afford). Oh, and I found out today my grandmother is dying in hospital, having just been rushed in.

This is officially the worst day ever.
