I can't even bring myself to type in my weight because I am so ashamed :(

I need to lose 3.5 stone before the end of May (going on holiday with a thin friend) I am doing My Fitness Pal (calorie counting) and I am going to do 1200 calories a day. It's brutal I know but then so was the reading on my scales this morning.

Effing Nora :(

I meant to be having veg curry for tea. But I'm not sure what to have it with if I'm cutting carbs out at tea time. Not rice or Naan bread then ...

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 08/01/2013 18:18

I always weigh naked, first thing in the morning. After a pee, never before.

My weight fluctuates wildly. Just before a period it goes nuts, and yet apart from that can go up by about 5lbs or so. I really retain water though.

FellatioNels0n · 08/01/2013 18:20

Haha - me too Getorf. That pee makes all the difference. Grin

If I can possibly manage it post pee but pre-coffee then so much the better.

"also no point moving the scales around the room won't help ya"

Bloody hell, were you spying on me yesterday? Blush

I've just made a massive vat of minestrone (weightwatchers menu) Bloody lovely it is. I even had 15g of parmesan sprinkled on the top. And it's so low calorie that I'm going to have another bowl.

Also, may I recommend the Hairy Bikers Hairy Dieters cookbook? I used it a lot last year before holiday because all of the calories are worked out for you and the recipes wasy to follow. They're quite carb concious too, they don't use loads of them. Am doing their beef and ale casserole tomorrow, might try and do some mashed sweet potato to go with it.

Carriedaway, can you have cous cous? I use that with chilli and curries and it's surprisingly nice!

But then there is the issue with the poo. I never poo before my coffee, but frequently after it. So it's a trade off, you know? Do I weigh before - or after? But what if I take on board the weight of the coffee and then inexplicably don't poo, and I'm extra heavy with poo and coffee? Honestly, my life is so complicated. You have no idea.

FellatioNels0n · 08/01/2013 18:25

The scales will definitely show a different reading in different parts of the room - especially from hard floor to carpet. It doesn't matter where you put them, but consistency is important.

noddyholder · 08/01/2013 18:26

Mine are on tiles I have moved them but no different and imagine if it went UP

CarriedAwayAnnie · 08/01/2013 18:27

I just lost 200 calories to the orange juice and the 2 coffees I drank at breakfast this morning.

Cous cous good idea baubles. I will have to buy some though. Today I might just have to have the veg curry plain

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 08/01/2013 18:28

Yes, post pee but pre coffee.

Even if I have but a swig of water I think it will adjust my weight wildly, so I don't weigh.

This thread is interesting for examining some of my insane thought processes, at the least. Grin

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 08/01/2013 18:28

I am really laughing at your poo stream of consciousness, fel.

noddyholder · 08/01/2013 18:29

Tes and any bubbles sticking to you post bath/shower get those off Grin

noddyholder · 08/01/2013 18:29

yes

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 08/01/2013 18:32

Oh and never after a shower with wet hair, because wet hair weighs a few more pounds than dry. Hmm

noddyholder · 08/01/2013 18:33

Nuts the lot of us

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 08/01/2013 18:33

Bulgar wheat is also very good, carried. Similar to cous sous, but I tend to prefer it. I cook it with a chicken or vegetable stock cube in the water. It makes a nice cold salad too if you chuck in diced cucumber/tomato/spring onions/bit of fresh mint.

CarriedAwayAnnie · 08/01/2013 18:47

Thanks Baubles, great tips Smile.

I've never tried Bulgar wheat. I wouldn't have known what to do with it if I had!

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 08/01/2013 18:54

You can usually find it with the wholefoods in supermarkets (by the nuts/dried fruits etc)

In 160g there's only about 19g of carbs compared with 58g in the same amount of rice!

DH bought me some fancy digital scales what a hero so I have no excuse not to weight accurately. On my old scales I could change the reading by moving them round the room

CarriedAwayAnnie · 08/01/2013 19:04

What does it taste like Baubles - has it got a rice, cous cous kind of thing going on?

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 08/01/2013 19:10

Talking of whole foods, a Whole Foods market has just opened near me, I often walk by the one in Kensington but ventured in the one by me. Wonderful food, you want to buy everything (and I did) including macarons every colour of the rainbow, and sausages which cost me £7.

It's brilliant but you need a second mortgage.

I still have some lovely cheese and guacamole and yoghurts left - am going to eat them in SENSIBLE rations.

Recommend it if you have one near you.

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 08/01/2013 19:11

It's closest to cous cous, but it's just nicer somehow. I like cous cous but I think sometimes it can taste a bit... soapy?

OP posts:
BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 08/01/2013 19:11

LOL at you and your fucking sausages, GetOrf Grin

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 08/01/2013 19:12

I know. I think I have taken inspiration directly from Bodger and Badger.

noddyholder · 08/01/2013 19:12

I have gone off cous cous am going to try bulgar. Does it take long to cook?
