I can't even bring myself to type in my weight because I am so ashamed :(

I need to lose 3.5 stone before the end of May (going on holiday with a thin friend) I am doing My Fitness Pal (calorie counting) and I am going to do 1200 calories a day. It's brutal I know but then so was the reading on my scales this morning.

Effing Nora :(

It takes about 6-8 minutes to cook, noddy.

Pinot · 08/01/2013 19:15

Get Orf and sausages Grin Grin

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 08/01/2013 19:17

Shut up. I want some sausages now. And some chips and HP sauce. And egg.

Pinot · 08/01/2013 19:18

how do you cook bulgar wheat, bups? just add boiling water like with cous cous?

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 08/01/2013 19:27

You just put the amount of bulgar wheat in the saucepan that you want (beware, it trebles in size! Don't do what I did the first time I cooked it from a recipe and think "Pffft 100g ain't enough for three people" It IS enough. 200g is enough for the STREET) and cover it in cold water. Bring to the boil, et voila! Like I say though, stick a stock cube in.

lol at the sentence 'porn for getorf'

amimagic · 08/01/2013 19:31

I'm glad someone else asked about the bulgur wheat, was feeling like a right thicko

RandallPinkFloyd · 08/01/2013 19:33

I bloody love bulgar wheat. It's basically fat cous cous. So tastes the same but a much nicer texture. I'm not fussed on the texture of cous cous, too dry and sandy somehow. Plus there is no way to say cous cous without sounding like a twat.

It's really handy too as you can stick all your fridge detritus in it and it makes it into a meal!

It's just as nice hot or cold. So I have a tub if it in the fridge leftover from yesterday and will have it cold for lunch tomorrow. I sautéed some dubious looking mushrooms in some garlic plonked them into a pan of bulgar wheat (I tend to throw in a stock cube same as bups) and hey presto - lunch!

I also like it as a salad with tuna, cucumber and a bit of balsamic vinegar.

GetOrf · 08/01/2013 19:35

I don't like that big couscous which looks like the tapioca my gran used to make me eat.

I am not keen on the texture of it at all really. Feels mealy. Like something you would feed to cows in the winter.

CarriedAwayAnnie · 08/01/2013 19:36

Love the all bulgar wheat ideas and cooking tips. Thanks bups and Randall - really helpful Smile

GetOrf · 08/01/2013 19:38

I just went to change my name to PornForGetorf but chickened out. Grin

Which is odd as my name has had motherfucker in it for months. But still.

Charmbrainsandbeauty · 08/01/2013 19:38

Can I join? None of my clothes fit, in fact I am only wearing two things: jeans and a black skirt that is a work skirt that I have been wearing because the jeans are in the wash. I feel so ashamed and fat, yuck. Getting married this year and need to lose 15 kg (I don't know what stones are, sorry)

noddyholder · 08/01/2013 19:40

M and S half fat butchers sausages not chi chi but yummy and quite low cal Nice with grilled tomato and fried egg

CarriedAwayAnnie · 08/01/2013 19:40

GetOrf you def should!

spamm · 08/01/2013 19:41

Funny - this just came up on my FB feed: bulgar wheat recipes.

RandallPinkFloyd · 08/01/2013 19:41

Just had a look at the packet and it says 125g to 600ml of water, that's plenty enough for two.

No I know the stuff you mean getorf and its not as big as that. I don't like that either, mealy is the exact word I was looking for earlier! Bulgar wheat isn't mealy like cous cous is somehow.

PoohBearsHole · 08/01/2013 20:21

tabbouleh for lunch yummy

Can I recommend that? I know its summery but my best mates mum used to make it and it was fantabulous!

laurenamium · 08/01/2013 20:22

Another one for weighing naked here too! First thing on a morning, I weigh myself on a night too because I like to see the difference Smile

watfordmummy · 08/01/2013 20:25

clicked on this as the title struck home, had signed up to WW on line on Saturday as felt so fat, but had no batteries in scales so guessed weight at 13st. Fast forward to today when I bought the batteries..... 13st 10lb OMG how I have I got so big??

Have stuck to my points today and have been for a power walk. Want to go horse riding in Hyde Park and am too heavy!! Need to be below 12st 7! So that's my first target. Sad as this time last year I did Dukan and got down to 11st 10lb all this weight has piled back on!

Very impressed by all you MFP people! My phone wouldn't support it.

CarriedAwayAnnie · 08/01/2013 20:32

I gave up with plain veg curry so I've cooked a sweet potato and Jamies veg chilli to go with it. It's ready in 10 and I can't wait because I'm starving!!!

PinkyCheesy · 08/01/2013 20:35

OMG at being too heavy for riding in Hyde Park Shock
I wouldn't be able to go for about another year!

Watfordmummy you can do MFP on your PC too

saintmerryweather · 08/01/2013 20:45

I started mine on 31st when i was 12st 6. last year when I promised myself 2012 would be my year i was 12st 10 - not quite as inspiring as some of you ladies but I'll get there this year, by god! I'm now 12st 3 after cutting out some sugar, biscuits, cake, bread, pasta (i'm ignoring the massive plate i had tonight) have done the shred once and my goal weight is 10st or 9.5stone. Ive got a ballroom dress to get into and I WILL get into it! mfp name is gemin1eye if anyone wants to add me

hevak · 08/01/2013 21:08

Well, I've just eaten my second funsize mars bar for the day Hmm Angry Sad

I'm soooooo HUNGRY! I've been doing the Shred/Ripped in 30 for 5 of the last 7 days, as well as restricting my calorie intake, so I know that's why. I had a net 1140 calories yesterday so I guess my body is crying out for food. Still, only a total of 1300 calories today (including both mini mars bars) and no exercise (long day at work, so taking a rest day), so it's not a disaster.

On the plus side I have definitely lost weight. We're redoing our kitchen and bathroom at the moment so I can't get to the scales to know numbers, but my clothes are not as horribly tight and uncomfortable as they were a week ago definitely looser

DrFayRay you look fantastic! It's such as inspiration to hear from you and Shiney - hopefully one day I can inspire someone too! Smile I'll have to lose the weight first though Grin
