Bessie I noticed last time that everybody lost at different rates and times. The weight loss can be erratic, you can be really good and not lose much then it all whizzes off at once and sometimes you can weigh the same but lose inches.

Tis very odd but it is the longterm picture that counts. Don't give up.

OK I'm finally delurking. Last year I lost 1.5 stone, the last stone of which was directly due to you guys. I'd like to lose another half stone or so, as despite now having a good BMI and low sounding weight (am a short-arse), all my fat lies around my belly.

Bessie - firstly, it's only Day 3! Everyone loses at a different rate, and the rate you lose will depend on a number of things, e.g. how much you have to lose, how often you've dieted before, etc.

Looking at your menu, there is a fair bit of dairy there, which could be an issue.

I started today. I had:

B- full fat natural yoghurt
L- goats cheese and spinach ommlette with salad (hope goats cheese is ok)
D- chicken thighs and broccoli with butter

At work all day today and didn't have any snacks prepared so have felt slightly hungry today and nausea.

I'm struggling with the water. Have almost managed 2 litres I think.
Salad was a bit plain, would hellmans mayo be ok to have?

Have a headache now and my head feels foggy :(
Can't wait to start feeling good!!!

Womenandchickensfirst - I feel for you. Those kind of buffets are the worst possible to deal with.

Is there any chance you can influence what's provided? Can you contact the meeting organisers to ask them for something you can eat? If necessary, tell them you're allergic to wheat/gluten, and that you need something that isn't bread or pastry.

If you can't do that, make sure that you have a really decent breakfast before you go to the meeting - bacon, eggs, (low carb) sausages, mushrooms. Once you're in ketosis, you will find that a good breakfast like this should easily take you till 2/3 in the afternoon before you feel really hungry.

If there's no way round it, take a plate full of appropriate sandwiches and remove their fillings - ham/beef/cheese can usually be 'salvaged' from between the slices of bread.

Chocberry- to succeed on this woe you need to understand the science behind it all
Yes to mayo- you need good fats to stay full
At this early stage keep eating until you are in ketosis when you won't need to eat as often. Keep your potassium levels up too
Either with food such as avocado, bovril, lo salt added to food or electrolyte replacements

coolkat - you need to stick at it, I'm afraid! Once you get into ketosis, which should take you about 3-5 days, you will find that you are just not hungry. It will be a real revelation, as everyone here who has experience it before will agree!

But if you fall off the wagon, you're delaying reaching ketosis. It's really important to keep focused.

So is this a good plan for a meal - am starting Monday.

B - eggs fried, mushrooms and tomatoes
L - chicken and salad with FF Hellmans
D - Salmon with vegetables

Shed loads of water, no fruit, no puddings.

I am trying to get the sugar out of my body. Is that right?

To whoever asked - maybe Ewan - I am getting married in September but meeting dress maker in April so need my measurements to be less by then!

My first proper day of this woe today, all is well, am snuggled on the sofa drinking fuzzy water and eating some gorgeous olives. Test tomorrow is a birthday party but will drive and fill up on eggs before I go!
