Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness is here

Hope everyone is doing well.

I haven't weighed this morning - was a little bit distracted by a phone call from my lovely SIL in Australia, to announce the safe arrival of Gabriel Paul and Nell Florence Jean! Gabriel weighed 5lbs 2oz and Nell 4lbs 10oz, so good weights to say they are 3 weeks early.

So I'm a great aunty Grin

Thanks Vnum I'm 5 ft 3 if standing VERY upright. I have literally never been this weight since my wedding day and before that maybe when I was 15...so not sure it's sustainable but have found this WOE fantastic, Bootcamping very light now (wine, dark chocolate, poppadums with my curry, a bad macademia habit) and staying stable, so we'll see...

Doshusallie · 21/11/2012 10:59

Morning all.

Meeting went fine mainly because my boss did all of the talking. So much so that the client actually looked at me at the end and said 'well you had an easy ride didn't you? You just wound him up and let him go!' Blush. Oh well, that's what bosses are for isn't it? Still had the 5.45am start..... On a train home now.

Early brekkie was Alpro yog, just had some pork scratchings.

Good luck to all of you seeking 6 packs and lifted buns....I am not too bothered about definition etc. no-one ever sees it anyway do they? As long as I have a flat tum and not too many wobbly bits I'm happy.

.

halfthesize · 21/11/2012 11:01

Well done BIWIGrin

NotAgainAndAgain · 21/11/2012 12:13

I love the fact that I have beaten my "sweet tooth-inness".
I had no idea how sugar dependent I was. Thinking that since I do not put sugar in my drinks and not big on cake - I was ok. I so was not. It was hard for starters, sometimes agrh-gh-gh how I craved my late night treats.
Nowadays no chocolate below 70% can pass my lips - it seems to be offensively sweet.

WillieWaggledagger · 21/11/2012 12:38

yy notagain - i find i'm much more receptive to different flavours now too, a bit like an ex-smoker!

JessicaWakefield · 21/11/2012 12:55

Two pounds down and I think that's real and not because of the vomiting illness I had last week. Have now entered it on the spreadsheet of wonder which means that it definitely must be true! This is the lowest I've been since before DCs and then I could only get to this weight by eating hardly anything except stuff pretending to be food, Muller Light anyone? I can't believe I used to eat like that, my body was in semi-starvation mode and I'd wonder why I was hungry and not loosing weight!

I'm finding more and more that the thing which deters me from potential off wagon moments is the thought of how terrible I'll feel the next day. I'm sort of ok with a bit of sugar but anything with wheat in and the stomach pains and indigestion and headache and low mood are as much of a deterrent as the poundage.

TooMuch I'm thinking of you today.

BIWI well done on your weigh in!

Doshu glad your meeting went well.

Willie of course you like round numbers, you are the Goddess of the spreadsheet!

Have a good day everyone and hope you all manage to stay dry.

EwanHoozami · 21/11/2012 13:45

Well said BIWI - going off-message had to be something really special to put up with the resulting 4lb I've gained in two days Shock Blush

the hotel was lovely, I'd recommend it to anyone. DH and I saved up for ages for a few days abroad and then thought 'sod it' and blew the lot on one amazing 24hr break Grin

today I am parsimonious in comparison ...

B - 1.5l water (kick-starting Return To Bootcamp with a small fast)
L - chicken mayo salad
D - spinach omelette

BIWI · 21/11/2012 14:13

Ewan - that will quickly go, especially I'd you're being strict. And I'm sure it was worth it Grin

Doshusallie · 21/11/2012 14:20

Toomuch - thinking of you today.

Lunch was a courgette, a leek, chopped and steamed, served with salt and with a layer of edam cheese. Weird, but lush and tasty.

Going to see the latest Twilight tonight - SQUEEEEEEE Grin

captainmummy · 21/11/2012 14:35

Went xmas shopping today - spent loads and had a toasted teacake Blush but no breakfast (in anticipation) and jsut a bit of greek yog for lunch, with a few peanuts. Have a bit of a headache now, possibly from the sugar/flour/raisins.

Will do chicken/mushrooms in cream sauce with something for tea.

Well done on your lossBIWI - very exciting!

Doshu - you were into london and out again by 11am? Early start!

jan2013 · 21/11/2012 14:38

hi guys

im quite upset at the minute as ive realised ive gained a good bit of weight in the last few months, and even the last week. i know its my TOM at the minute and wonder how much that can account for. but ive been even thinking should i go back to low fat. this is the heaviest ive been in like a good few years, and i didn't seem to struggle with putting on pounds on a low fat diet. maybe high fat is suited to some people but not others? before i didn't eat a lot of carbs, but i ate moderate carbs, low fat, and moderate protein. i really don't know what to do, putting on weight right now is the last thing i need for my confidence.

BIWI · 21/11/2012 14:44

Jan - how tall are you and how much do you weigh now?

What are your objectives with low carbing? Were you aiming to lose weight or to eaters healthily?

And post what you've been eating/drinking over the last couple of days so that we can try and help

Chin up Smile

jan2013 · 21/11/2012 15:03

im 5 7.5 and am 8 st 4.5

that might not sound a lot but ive gained over a stone since dd was born

i wud be happy maintaining around 8 stone, i carry the fat round my belly

i don't have time to cook dd is always sick, i usually have tinned fish or if i have more time grilled salmon, with veg such as cauliflour, broccoli, green beans. sometimes a have mixed peppers and onions but i watch these

every day i have a couple of eggs and some cheese

i add mayonnaise and olive oil to my food

for breakfast i have lidl yoghurt with berries and flaxseed. and through the day i have coffee with cream or milk, the odd day i have dark chocolate.

i don't really want to be on a diet the rest of my life so i don't really want to cut more things out of my diet if you know what i mean - i don't know why i am gaining.

i know my sleep is horrendus at the minute with dd, and that can't be helping. i used to have major food issues (hence used to be underweight) and don't want to go back there, but i can't handle this gaining weight so i don't know where to go from here!

thanks

jan2013 · 21/11/2012 15:07

oh Biwi i just saw your profile pics - beautiful you look great. sorry im posting and haven't even caught up on the thread. im all over the place at the minute dd has tonsilitis

Doshusallie · 21/11/2012 15:18

I know Captain - I do not want to make catching the 6.58am train a regular thing!!!!

Jan - I will let others comment as you are clearly distressed about gaining weight, as I would be. It's very hard when you can't actually see someone, but from a generic perspective, weighing 8 stone 4 when you are over 5 foot 7 really does NOT sound like very much.....Weight is a very personal thing though, and what is fine for one is not for another, I do get that. Your food looks ok to me.......

halfthesize · 21/11/2012 16:22

Afternoon all, its been raining here all day so have been having a cooking marathonSmile

jan sorry to hear you are feeling so low, weight is such a nightmare and personally I think it affects all aspects of my life if I am not happy with mine, which I rarely am! Your food looks fine to meWink

Jacaqueen · 21/11/2012 16:28

jan you BMI is around 18.

As i understand it if you do low carb properly, where your fat content is high, you won't lose weight once you have used up your fat reserves. It is like your body has a built in survival mode and won't let your weight get too low.

I don't want to seem insensitive, but your post worries me a bit. I know we all carry weight differently. I am 5 7 and when I weighed 9st I was really ill.

I hope you are ok.

WineGless · 21/11/2012 16:34

Jan your BMI is only 18.
What weight did you start at and what are your goals?
I know you've had a tough time but am concerned about uou

jan2013 · 21/11/2012 17:50

hey.... oh flip im sorry ive worried you. please don't be... i shouldnt have posted bmi. i have struggled with weight for a long time and actually after having a baby have been a lot better, i went from about 7st to what i am now and it wasn't as much of an issue after dd was born... but the thing is, low carbing was helping me with cravings, helping me feel more stable without the blood sugar moodswings, and helping me eat better (fat etc).

i understand my bmi is quite low, but when you think about what my bmi was like before, you will understand that its quite enough weight gain for me right now and what i want to do now is maintain (at 8 st, not at what i am now). i wasn't actually worrying about my weight anymore until i stepped on the scales. now that im gaining weight im worried its likely to become a problem again. i may have a low bmi, but i struggle with food as much as the next person! and i am carrying it in the worst place. i started low carbing when i was just under 8 st. i wasn't looking to lose weight, just maintain and be healthy, but ive gained! i don't stick rigidley to the rules of bootcamp because i knew that i didn't need to lose...i was more on the maintenance plan. i really want to make this work, but if i keep gaining i don't know what to do.

MrsHerculePoirot · 21/11/2012 18:25

Ignoring the weight though Jan, do you feel better on the WOE and do your clothes fit the same? If so then ditch the scales and keep on, perhaps your body is adjusting to what it thinks is a sensible/healthy weight and you will now stay the same. I am no way an expert though, and I think if your BMI is already low and you say you have issues with weight/food in the past that perhaps speaking to GP/other professional would be worthwhile?

BIWI · 21/11/2012 18:32

jan - I know you have issues around your weight, and I think you need to stop focussing on it. You have a lot of stress going on in your life right now, and your weight does not deserve to be one of them. And I seriously, seriously think you need to listen to what people are telling you here. At your height and weight you can't be fat! You are putting down the kind of weight that your body needs.

I understand that putting on weight must be very worrying for you and difficult to deal with, but please understand that - for you - it's a healthy process.

The food you are eating is perfect as a low carb diet. As long as you promise me that you are eating like every day then it is very nutritious and will be doing you a lot of good.

Please don't start trying to lose weight.

Jacaqueen is absolutely right - eating a low carb diet allows you to lose weight until you reach a weight that your body is happy with. It's your head that doesn't like what it's seeing on the scales.

And I'm sending you a big hug, because I think you probably need one, rather than me waving my big stick around any more!

NewStartSameStory · 21/11/2012 18:33

I know some evil but easy and quick exercises for targeting tummy tonnage. Does require an extra person though. And a ball. sponge football thing is good. perhaps your body's natural preferred weight is around what you are now? Just consider that it might be slightly higher then you would like.

I am back from the round trip and pleased to say that actually it is under 100miles. however, I am about to go out to training again. Hmm

NewStartSameStory · 21/11/2012 18:35

Ah x-post with the very wise BIWI What BIWI said.

JessicaWakefield · 21/11/2012 18:53

Sending you hugs Jan. With those stats you must look really willowy and lovely. As Doshu said weight is very personal and as Half said it can really make or break your mood, it certainly can mine. Listen to the sensible people here and our wise leader BIWI; you are eating real, nutritious and delicious food and are being kind to your body. Maybe just try to enjoy this woe and don't think about the numbers? Here are some Thanks sent with a good luck Smile

JessicaWakefield · 21/11/2012 18:57
