Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness is here

Hope everyone is doing well.

I haven't weighed this morning - was a little bit distracted by a phone call from my lovely SIL in Australia, to announce the safe arrival of Gabriel Paul and Nell Florence Jean! Gabriel weighed 5lbs 2oz and Nell 4lbs 10oz, so good weights to say they are 3 weeks early.

So I'm a great aunty Grin

Newstart - I was up at 3am with ds3 who was feeling sick. Got him back to bed with a bucket, to hear him being sick at 4am. Have spent the rest of the night half-awake, waiting.

Didn't wiegh today, bit dazy...forgot.

Viper - if you still need something crunchy/biscuity, try those flaxseed rosemary-and-seasalt crackers on 'i breathe...I'm hungry' website. They are easy to make, low-carb and just the job for spreading with peanut butter, marmite, cheese etc.

Morning! Grey, miserable and generally dreary but at least the rain seems to have stopped and we now have power back again thankfully.

Newstart - yay! Good news. Hope you have a good day. Smile

Viper, that feeling of wanting something but not knowing what, I get that as well. It's a weird feeling as its quite strong I find. Usually try water with lime and ice in case it's thirst and the lime makes it a bit different.

Weight wise I am sts - 9.7 on Friday. That's the one I'm claiming for this week especially after the weekend ....... Blush

Waves to everyone. Welcome to any newcomers - Porky I spotted you. Smile

Ugh New - that is early.

Well I've weighed and logged. Bad week for me, lots of cheating that translated to a 5lb gain. Set me back 2 weeks. I'm so cross with myself.

Saw the cheeseburger pie recipe and it reminded me that, many years ago when we lived in South Africa there used to be a traditional dish called Bobotie that was a mild, curried mince with a baked egg topping. I'll look out the recipe and let you know if it is any good.

I'm glad it's not just me that has this weird craving/non-craving feeling. I have been really bad this weekend as I got myself a bit weirded out but am back on the wagon tomorrow.

Have had stomach pains since Sunday lunch at PILs - avoided the obvious usual suspects, potatoes, Yorkshire puddings etc but I think MIL was very liberal with the flour in the gravy. What's strange is that back in the day when I had porridge for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and pasta for dinner I didn't have these violent reactions to wheat based foods. I guess in hindsight I wasn't feeling great and I wasn't the weight I wanted to be but it seems as though when your body is very rarely exposed to gluten (if that's the trigger) then when it is, it just literally finds it indigestible.

Won't be able to weigh in tomorrow as scales fell out of wardrobe a few days ago. The base has ruptured off and wires are hanging out of the bottom. Given the amount of emotion I invest in the numbers they come up with they definitely don't look very trustworthy!

Yep just double checked and is 3.9g of which sugars 1.9g. It pays to be cheap, clearly they've scrimped on the sugar!

Right have been discussing Christmas menu with my mother and have managed to get her to let me do some of the meals over the days we're spending with them so I'll have control over some of the carb intake at least!

I won't be too strict, but I would like to spend Christmas with as little bloating etc as possible, so (fingers crossed) I won't go mad.

I agree that shopping is getting ever harder with all the Christmas goodies! I just adore mince pies (I may have mentioned this before Grin) and they are bloody everywhere! I just have to keep reminding myself how lovely my mum's homemade ones are and hold out for them.

I have a jar of Sainsbo's Basics peanut butter and assumed it was no-go but it's only 3.9g/100g - not bad!

Viper I get those 'I could eat but I don't know what to eat' moments too. I think it's because the high-carb snacks are easier to pile into so the evaluation process doesn't get a chance to kick in.

Check the carb count first, NMP - some have a lot of sugar in them!

Is peanut butter allowed? I used to buy thoses little packs of macadamia nuts for those moments when you crave something bad.

Happy anniversary Dosh

Good job on the lunch fron Wine. I love that virtuous (although don't think I can spell it!) feeling after a 'good' meal out with lots of temptation!

Viper - Yes!!!!! I know exactly what you mean, I have that as well. I think it is to do with the texture of foods. I like the texture and crunchiness of carby snacks and the only thing that vaguely replicates that I find is pork scratchings. Sometimes those atkins bars do the trick though and although processed and not ideal and everything I think probably better than a whole tube of pringles or toast anyway... maybe buy one of those for next time and see if that does the trick? Other than that I try to have cream cheese and celery or try to drink something like a peppermint tea as nothing in my mind goes well with a peppermint tea!!!

Hi all and welcome back NMP and heartstart - good to "see" up you both back here. You know you can do it as you did it before , it's the emotional eating that gets me. If that's what you are struggling with I can recommend a chapter in IPD (although I see that India has fallen off the wagon recently by all accounts)

Happy anniversary Dosh and half! Hope you have both had a lovely day with yr Oh.

We have been out for lunch with good friends.
I had roast beef and turkey, Brussels sprouts, cauli, broccoli and braised red cabbage with gravy which was possibly carby. I then had cheeseboard but left the oatcakes that came with it. Feeling chuffed with myself and planning an omlette and salad for tea but completely stuffed.

I know! I tried them on with the dress, to make sure that they really went together. I optimistically took the size 10 into the changing room (I have bought a size 12), but sadly it still didn't fit.
