Here is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness for your viewing pleasure

Four weeks to go!
Short but sweet OP today, as I have to go off to work early.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Poppy1234 I suspect you won't lose much more on this WOE. You're at the lower end of the BMI index right now and there's something about low carbing that doesn't let you get too low. Change your mindset and call yourself a maintainer

BIWI
I bought it direct in bulk :-)
Mail order... I might get a regular box from them as its free postage and they do paleo boxes which suit us low carbers

Am going to stay with friend Saturday, we will drink, it'll be dry white wine for me. Will stick to food as far as possible and do plenty of walking.

It's £££ BUT I'm saving so much from not drinking it's all relative!

Sorry to hear about the exam/job, wine.

I have had a real 'fuck it' day - went out for coffee with friend, had a free toasted teacake with it. At home I then had 4 apples , a fig (I miss fruit so much!) and half a (big) bag of raisins/sunflower seeds. CHicken soup for tea, with carrot and leeks in.

Have a real headache now, am sure it's from the blood sugar.

Might try your 3day thing, BIWI, tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you bad news Wine. I hope the situation can be resolved such that it isn't as much hassle as you fear it might be.

I have had a major wobble. In short the last few days have seen broken car, concussion (ds), partial dislocation knee (me), Fuckwit ex, bringing forward of a major report for work, various other politics with the inclusion of other odds and sods that have just added up to wanting to find a large padded cell stuffed with cotton wool to hide in. Instead today was sugar laiden and I now feel crap. Tea is back on track chicken and veg. Might see about gentle training for emotional purposes tonight. Need to be writing a report though. Can't face it atm. and there is NO excuse I am just crap and lack will power. And tbh probably deserve BIWI wading in with her big stick to twat me one to knock some sense into me. Blush

Hope everyone feels better soon.

B oatbran with water and cream
L 2 eggs scrambled with butter and cream, smoked salmon
Snack 4 olives, yoghurt with blueberries
D leftover turkey bolognaise with roasted kale

Was my first attempt at roasting kale and it was not a great success. I had added far too much salt and chilli, not realising how much the kale shrinks, and I think the oven was too hot as I was also doing baked pots for DH. But I still have half a bag left, so hopefully next attempt will be an improvement!

captainmummy - if you move to Bootcamp Light then you can have fruit! No need to beat yourself up. And certainly no need to dive into the teacakes!

NewStart - you are having a time of it, aren't you? Just try and focus on how much better you feel without the carbs.

Hello. Am still here. Have been very rubbish and made bad choices, and they were all choices and not forced situations. Am feeling a bit sorry for myself for various boring reasons, but have today redeemed myself and despite going to the freezer about 8 times and almost cooking something I shouldn't have I have managed to resist.

Wine so sorry to hear about the exam and job - I think your job sounds horrendously stressful at all times, and I hope that the redeployment is smooth and you find yourself ending up in an even better team, with a changed but even better role and no hassles with childcare.

Brass glad to hear that the weight is coming off for you. It sound like Harcombe was for you maybe.

Jax - I can't see any info on that website about carb content, so I would be a bit Hmm about how nutritious is actually is - especially as they talk about using sweeteners in it.

Poppy - I think Jins is absolutely right. At 5 ft 3, 8 and a half stones is probably a really good weight for you. Please don't consider doing anything extreme like the 3DE - you don't need it. But doing Bootcamp (probably better if you do Bootcamp Light) you will be eating much more healthily than you have been previously. I would honestly be more concerned about eating a normal diet than the one you were doing before which, frankly, has 'eating disorder' written all over it.

Jax - why not have some cheese? Or some nuts? Or both?!

My 3DE hasn't been too bad, although I have had some veg, which isn't quite the plan. Today was the third day, thank goodness - I had a boiled egg before the gym and then a small amount of yoghurt when I got home. Lunch was a piece of steak with some mushrooms fried in butter and garlic, and dinner was also steak (don't know why - just fancied it!) with salad in a shallot vinaigrette and boiled asparagus with butter.

I will be on the scales first thing tomorrow, which will be interesting! I had a real craving for a glass of wine this evening, but the thought of the scales made sure I've stuck with the water!

I've also been to the gym every day. Monday and Tuesday on my own, this morning with my trainer.

I read an article in The Times Magazine this weekend about Intermittent Fasting which was interesting. They showed the 500/600 calorie day, which I've heard of before, but also said an alternative was to leave food off altogether from 2pm to 2pm. Apparently the benefits of fasting plateau from about 18hrs onward so fasting a whole day with the nights each side can be too long. Just thought it was interesting, don't know if anybody has any thoughts on that.

Who knows anything about macadamia nuts? I'm still wondering why the Tesco and Morrisons ones have 10g carbs per 100g while Sainsburys ones only have 6g although they're all just roasted, salted nuts,

Morning girls.

Bad day yesterday, with too much to do and lots of people not quite doing what they are supposed to. Ate a small bar of dark choc and a glass of beer, though not at the same time! Today will have to be really good to atone. Am very tired though and it's only Thursday.

Poppy, I'm also 5ft 3 and was 8 and a half when I started bootcamp ( althought I'd already lost 9lb over the 8 weeks before that) I have lost weight and am now maintaining /hovering between 8 2 and 8 5.
I've found that I do have to keep an eye on the amount of the high calorie items I eat ( I know we're not counting but can't describe it easier) because being small we take less energy to run!

Woohoo BIWI well done,3 day obviously works!!

I had a disaster yesterday. I'd brilliantly for breakfast and lunch plus loads of water. Had book club last night and the friend who was hosting emailed to ask about low carbing and what I could eat. Unfortunately she completely ignored everything I said and made tomato soup, pumpkin lasagne and treacle sponge with pears!! I did ask in a joking way what happened and she just laughed.

Back to it....
Am going to meal plan tonight and shop tomorrow which I find is key for me.

Thanks for all the good wishes - you are all so lovely

BIWI · 08/11/2012 08:16

Grr. I hate it when that happens. Why bother asking? If you had told her you were a vegetarian, would she have served you a bloody steak?

Trouble is, what then happens is that we eat the food, in order not to offend our hosts. Why? Why aren't our needs/wants and diets important?

What would she have done if you had said "I'm sorry but I can't eat any of this as it's not low carb"?

WineGless · 08/11/2012 08:23

Exactly!
I have had stomach ache since I ate it and feel very uncomfortable.
If she didn't know I could understand bit to deliberately ignore my request is rude.
She is a really good cook so I was looking forward to some low carb food too. I had said in my email that I could just miss out pasta/ potato/rice part of the meal. Bit difficult with lasagne though

BIWI · 08/11/2012 08:26

Hmm. Is she by any chance overweight herself? Jealous of the fact that you are losing weight/succeeding on a diet where she is failing?

I think people do it to sabotage us, sometimes.

I will forgive those who don't understand what low carb is, but not those who seem to do it deliberately.

Well done BIWI - that's great ! BTW I didn't realise you could eat fruit on bootcamp light - i thought it was just berries and stuff, not apples or mangoes.

I had the same stomache ache yesterday wine after my carb-day, and headache too. Am going to try to be really strict for the next 2 days - although I have a dinner-date tomorrow night too,a nd I'm sure it will not be low-carb either.

WineGless · 08/11/2012 08:37

She is overweight but not a close friend, just part of book club who I see every other month. If she hasn't asked I would have just sucked it up. It's the deliberate act- maybe it is sabotage. I haven't got anything else put of my control for a while so onwards and downwards

Well, berries are fruit, aren't they?! Hmm You can't eat apples or mangoes at this stage - but it really depends where you are in your weight loss. If you've reached goal, then it's about working out your maintenance levels - so you can start to experiment with introducing things like more carby fruits.

Wine - probably someone who believes you should 'just' eat less and move more then - and that low carbing is a silly fad.

Next time, you need to be more assertive (whilst being polite and charming, of course!). "Oh - I'm really sorry - I can't eat any of that, although it looks lovely. It is far too high in carbohydrates - and like I told you, I'm following a low carb way of eating". Then see what is said.

(I bet you're thinking "I couldn't possibly..."!)

morning. My friend who is a really good cook is hosting a dinner party and she text me to ask if I was still LC ing. I said yes - but I would eat around whatever she made. I know that she will not do pasta but she just doesnt 'get' low carbing. It is tricky - so I just say that I dont eat rice, pasta, bread or potato.

It seems I have lost a few pounds this week - probably water, but its still a step in the right direction again. Smile

Wine Shock can't believe she asked you what you eat then cooked that! I honestly wouldn't have eaten it. Hope today is kind to you, you've got it tough at the minute haven't you.

BIWI well done! Although that sounds a hard 3 days. I've reintroduced a proper breakfast this week as had got into the habit of missing it as not really hungry in the mornings. Just weighed and a pound off since Monday! 9lb 8. So I've eaten more and now lost again. This woe works in a strange but good way.
