For those who were asking about artificial sweeteners, over the last few weeks, this is an interesting - and scary - read

Greek yog (Lidl) for brekkie. Decaf tea, berocca and a pint of water.

Have had a decaf coffee at work so far.

So sorry to hear about the job Wine.

I am proper poorly as DS would say.
Sore throat, ears, headache and just rubbish.

Last night I told DH I would not be turning up for work today and asked who I should phone in sick to. He just looked at me as though I was daft.

I am mainly a SAHM, but do little bits for DH's company. DH buggered off to work as usual so I had to haul myself out of bed and do the usual morning routine with the boys. Then I went to Sainsbugs to stock up because I am not off my food.

I bought some cloudy diet lemonade which I am going to have hot with some grated ginger. Trying to stay away from artificial sweetners but this is an emergency.

Oh winegless so sorry to hear that, I can only hope the whole transition process goes as well as it can, and you can get things sorted. The stress must be hideous, though. Thinking of you. Have a hug, I'll leave the thrashing in the capable hands of Mistress Biwi. Try to remember that the fitter, healthier and more balanced you are, the more you are able to cope with life's crap, so don't self sabotage as comfort. It's hollow in the long run. (Here endeth the therapist woo).

jax love your story about Ds cake!! Bless. I would be the same.
notagain fab on the jeans!
piffle do you have a recipe for keema mince? Am intrigued.

Busy thread, it's great to see. I left the kitchen, and my turkey bolognaise, last night to go deal with the washing and came back to find DH stirring ... In a tin of butter beans!! He said he thought it would help!! [Hmm] So I think someone may find a copy of a low carb book under the tree this year ... Actually in one way it did help ... I certainly wasn't constipated this morning, quite the opposite ... Blush

toomuch most of what I post at the moment will be long, piffle and far from the point. I will also have forgotten what I was waffling about by the end of a sentence. The meds are strong! Grin

Wine - so sorry about your job. Sad

I think keema mince is normal beef mince fried off with some cumin and a touch of curry powder, but dont add the peas.

Thanks BIWI for all the links. Scary reading as my DH has 3 sweeteners in each of his 8-10 cupts of tea per day! His teeth are shot naturally.

Have managed to lose 2 pounds on Harcombe. Am basically eating like you lot, with the addition of a bit of brown rice or porridge on some days. Still shredding, but got a new Gillian which is harder than Shred. My bum ached this morning!

Made a really nice fake souffle the other day with low carb milk and no carb thickening stuff. The whole family liked it.

Keema mince is in the IDP cookbook - Bee Rawlinson

Kids loved it but then they had a garlic naan too!
Nitrate free bacon was from Devon RoseOrganic farm...
Well I lost 1/2lb this last week. thought I'd STS so pleasantly surprised.
Not cheated last few days so hopefully see benefits soon
Have walked and biked with the dogs today so feeling pleased!
Food
Bacon, scrambled egg ,mushroom, tomato
L - cold roast beef with horseradish cabbage salad with lime juice
D- not sure meant to be chilli bake but am feeling lazy...

I should know better than to step on the scales midweek but I did and appear to have put on 2lb but I am not going to panic! Am going away for a few days tomorrow evening so am trying to be as good as is humanly possible to that point so, if it is hard to eat right while away, it will not be the end of the world.

WillieWaggledagger · 07/11/2012 14:47

viper i ALWAYS put on during the week - my theory (and i'm sticking to it) is that i get up later and therefore stand on the scales later at weekends so i have lost more water weight by the time i weigh!

BIWI · 07/11/2012 14:49

Piffle - are you buying direct from the farm?

I never seem to see nitrate-free bacon anywhere!

Haven't been on for ages as had a super busy weekend with friends over and despite not cheating (choosing to ignore the wine and chocolate pots I made for pudding) I ate absolutely loads and I really, really want to get back to my starting weight, still can't believe i have put weight on during bootcamp rather than loosing it. If the scales aren't good to me on Friday I might consider theBIWI 3 day experiment. Anyway onwards and upwards:

B: Greek yoghurt
L: Curried cauliflower soup
D; Blackened salmon, cauli rice, spinach

3DE is only useful if you've been massively overdoing the carbs, though, Poppy.

Why do you think you have put weight on? is there anything easily identifiable?

regarding those pork strips - thanks, I'll go to liddle to look for those. Waitrose is not so good - for one is too much, if to leave it till next morning it goes so hard - afraid for my teeth. Are they in frozen or fresh meats? Thanks.

Sorry to hear about dark patch, Wine.

BIWI I have been thinking about why I put weight on and the only thing that springs to mind is that my pre bootcamp diet was pretty horrific in that I would starve during the week and binge at the weekend and repeat. I've weighed 8.5 stones since last December and after a holiday in September I put on around 4 pounds. I started bootcamp as I really wanted to get away from the feast and famine mentality I was in. Since bootcamp started I've put on another 2.5lbs, I haven't cheated massively (there has been wine, small amounts of dark chocolate and one cheat day for a Christening).

I'm not sure if it's my body adjusting to normal amounts of food and my natural weight isn't actually at 8.5 stone and I could live with that, my fear is that my weight will creep up.

Any ideas? Thank you so much for taking the time to read and help. x
