We managed to fill the thread before the end of the week, so I'm starting the next one.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness for you to record your weight tomorrow

I had moment of being upset that when I was only good for half the week last week I lost 3 lbs and this week, despite being good all week it looks like only a 2 lb loss for tomorrow. Then I did a bit of maths and wored out that if lost 2lbs every week that would be 2 stone in only 14 weeks and over 7 stone in a year! Got a grip and am looking forward to being 7 stone lighter this time next year.. Wink

B - low carb sausages and fried egg
L - prawns in garlic butter and pork belly with spring greens (at a restaurant!)
D - not sure yet, not amazingly hungry so will see what I fancy later, but fridge full of options!

Pufflemum · 14/10/2012 18:05

Hi all, apologies If this has been covered before, but what is the effect of having one really bad day then getting back on the plan and eating low carb? I really struggle on Sundays as we have a big family roast followed by home made pudding and wine in the evening. If I don't eat it the children wonder why and it spoils the one meal we all sit down and eat the same. I'm worried doing this then eating low carb but high fat the rest of the week will put me out of ketosis and pile on the pounds, not to mention always making my Monday weigh in look really bad! I'd appreciate your guidance.

Doshusallie · 14/10/2012 18:29

Sorry piffle mum can't really help, other than to say can't you just slightly adapt your meal so it doesn't look so different to the rest of theirs and forego the pudding and wine? Or serve a reasonably low carb pudding like Greek yoghurt and berries, pavlova made with Splenda and cream, etc?

Snacks have been 2 slices of ham, 2 spoons of peanut butter and a spoon of Greek yog. Am really peckish and my fridge is NOT full of options other than cheese which I am trying to avoid at the moment.

Tea will be salmon steaks and broccolli with courgettes and leeks, if DH ever moves his fat arse of the sofa.

Movie was good with kids, although I did have a little nod, so tired after last night. I had a bottle of water and a black decaf coffee, while boys had pop corn and fizzy drinks. [Shines halo.]

cathyandclaire · 14/10/2012 18:44

Piffle, could you eat the meat and lots of veg? From what I understand and from quite a bit of personal experimentation wine doesn't put you out of ketosis so you could enjoy everything but the pud and spuds and keep sort of on track Grin
When I did a big cheat (cake, crisps, choc, wine) it took me three days to get back into ketosis and I felt RUBBISH which might be difficult every week.

EwanHoozami · 14/10/2012 19:09

I would like to give an enormous snog to whichever fabulous people posted the braised cabbage and also the cream cheese pancake recipes. Finally tried both today (not together..) and they were both wonderful

I know that the pancakes have a snifter of sweetener and both contain dairy but I've been taking it a bit easier today. I've had NO BOOZE for a fortnight Shock

B: cream cheese pancakes
L: cold chicken, asparagus and mayo
D: braised cabbage and pan-fried venison liver

I'm still having a think about a low-cost LC meal plan.. watch this space...

halfthesize · 14/10/2012 19:16

Eve all, what a busy thread todaySmile

puffle I still do the roast dinner and pudding, I just dont have the roast potato's. Pudding now consists of berries and greek yoghurt the whole family love it and DC dont even notice I'm not having certain thingsSmile

Woke up and went straight to the gym, brunch was bacon and egg.
Dinner was low carb sausages, mashed sweede, green beans. Pudding full fat greek yogGrin

halfthesize · 14/10/2012 19:16

Oh all the dresses and shoes look fabGrin

Doshusallie · 14/10/2012 19:31

Salmon and veg was delish and very filling. Ended up making it for myself as dh went and got himself a kebab Hmm

AuntieMaggie · 14/10/2012 19:41

I feel bloated and not hungry at all. Had bacon and egg for breakfast and tried to eat roast chicken and veg for dinner but couldn't eat more than a few mouthfuls.

BigBroomstickBIWI · 14/10/2012 20:01

Wine will quickly put you out of ketosis, unless you're drinking only a very small amount.

Why can't you just tell the DC that you are full? You don't always have to eat the same as everyone!

Had a lovely autumn day here. Big brunch then out for a long walk, then home for roast dinner
Finding it hard not to mentally tot up all the calories and feel panicked. I have not found my appetite has dropped much yet. I'll be intrigued to see the scales tomorrow - although have only been at this since friday. Also I am mid cycle which always make be feel STARVING and bloat up like a balloon

B: scrambled eggs, bacon, garlic and chilli mushrooms
D: roast chicken, veggie gratin (with creme fraiche, parmesan and cheddar) and brussels & blob of yoghurt with 4 blackberries for pudding
snacks: 3 cubes dark choc (not allowed, but at least it wasn't the chelsea bun that I swear was calling to me in the cafe after our walk), bit of mackerel pate on celery.

It always looks such a lot when I write it down: must remind self I have been quite virtuous given my family ate chelsea buns, yorkshire puddings and steamed chocolate chip pudding with ice cream on top of all this. Greedy buggers.

Doshusallie · 14/10/2012 20:11

BIWI are you doing new thread?

Doshusallie · 14/10/2012 20:12

Temper my mouth just watered at your post - at your family's food though!

tempertemper · 14/10/2012 20:21

It took all my willpower to just cover the leftover pud without burying my face in it, tbh.

I do like a frozen berry in my total though - if you leave it a few minutes, it freezes the yoghurt and makes it taste like ice cream. I know fruit has no place on bootcamp but I was a SAINT in the face of family pudding scoffing.

MsRinky · 14/10/2012 20:22

Mmm, mackerel pate, must make some this week.

Today I slept in late and so had brunch rather than breakfast - sausage and mushroom mini frittatas, and awesome low carb pizza for dinner.

Need to make sure I have good big lunch tomorrow as I have dental appointment at 3.30 and so will probably have a numb mouth all evening. Not wildly optimistic about tomorrow's weigh in, but am all set for a good week next week.

Poppy1234 · 14/10/2012 20:30

Well and truly stuffed, have eaten so much today and more than I needed. Humm my focus on portion control this week was a bit dismal. I'm blaming my period arriving today for such greed.

B: Greek yoghurt
L: scrambled egg, sausages, cream cheese pancake (minus sweetener) and spinach
D: Slow roast chicken, cauliflower cheese, braised fennel (2 squares of 90% chocolate)

Found a lovely recipe for cauliflower cheese, my favourite yet. Oh cauliflower how many ways do i love you. www.redonline.co.uk/food/recipes/quick-roasted-cauliflower-cheese

tempertemper · 14/10/2012 20:32

Any links for the creme cheese pancake recipe and low carb pizza?

Although have serious sugar addiction issues so if there is sweetener in the pancakes may be better to leave it til the end of bootcamp.

Viperidae · 14/10/2012 20:39

Well following my "scenic detour" yesterday I have been good today. Slept in so didn't bother with breakfast, just drank loads of water then had brunch; that was sausage, bacon, eggs and mushrooms. Tea was chicken breast stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon with swede, asparagus and green beans. Haven't drunk enough as was out this pm but will top-up a bit this evening.

I made the mistake of getting on the scales this morning. The combination of what I ate yesterday plus (I'm assuming) water retained by the carbs looks like 5lb up on 2 days ago Shock What a waste!! I enjoyed it but not 5lb-worth!! Anyway, I'm hoping it will go as quickly as it came.

tempertemper · 14/10/2012 20:42

Poppy thats basically how I did my veg gratin. Note the word "gratin" sounds much more middle class than veg n cheese ;-)

Creme fraiche is bloody marvellous.
I have also made a mushroom soup for work lunches next week.
If I am not miraculously thinner than I was a few days ago, I may concede that I need to watch my portions a wee bit more.

MsRinky · 14/10/2012 20:44

My pizza base is basically the one on this blog:

blog.stuffimakemyhusband.com/2011/02/hybrid-pizza.html

I add courgette to the base - I grate it and salt it for a hour or so and squeeze all the water out. This makes the base go further and does two ten inch bases. It's good with cauliflower in the base too.

cathyandclaire · 14/10/2012 22:01

Ooops, sorry all for misleading wine and ketosis comment ( hits self repeatedly with big stick)
......clearly a case of wishful thinking!!!!

vnmum · 14/10/2012 22:25

Busy day today. Jobs done and revision ready for work.

Lie in so no breakfast
Lunch was prawn mayo, olives and eggs with boursin
Tea was belgian beef casserole in slow cooker, sprouts with chorizo and roast cauli with garlic and italian herbs

DH was doing well but then had a carb binge yesterday and ice cream today. He tried to get me to join him but i was not interested (shines halo). He'll be complaining of carb flu now for the next few days. Oh well, serve him right

hurricanewyn · 14/10/2012 22:33

Well, today has been terrible Sad. I had a sad day in work & at the end of my shift sloped off into the staffroom for a sniffle. In there, there was a cake and I had 3 slices. Unneccessary, but honestly unless BIWI had been there with her stck standing over the cake I don't think I was going to be deterred. I think I'll definitely add another week to week to bootcamp.

Ah well, new day tomorrow. Back on the straight and narrow.

motherofluvlies · 14/10/2012 22:45

Hi oh keep posting the amazing dresses

My new mantra while dying at the gym/ pool
" Remember the dress"
"Remember the dress"

thanks xx

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 14/10/2012 22:51

B slice of ham, topped with mushrooms and spinach with creme fraiche and a poached egg

L salad with feta, cucumber, olive oil, turkey slices and a little egg mayo

Snack couple of small bits of cheese and 2 slices of salami

D cucumber and pâté. Couldn't be bothered making anything as so tired after work this evening, and was really craving something carbs and stodgy. Sounds virtuous just having cucumber and pâté, but not entirely sure I should have eaten the whole 170 gram packet ... Oops ... Only 2g per 100g it says ... Better than the toast I wanted I hope.

Today is the first day in over a week I've wanted carbs and I really think less sleep and being more physically tired really contributes to that. So I am going to have a cup of chamomile tea and head for bed ... At least it's school holidays now!

Sending good luck vibes for tomorrow's weigh in everyone !!!
