The Little Black Dress Low Carb Bootcamp - starting in 2 week's time!

BIWI · 16/09/2012 21:43

Following on from the success of Bootcamp v1, where we lost in the region of 70 stone between us, we will be running a 10 week v2 Bootcamp, starting on Monday 1 October.

This is designed to take us up to the end of the first week in December, by which time you should have lost at least half a stone - and that's being pessimistic. There's every chance you could lose more than a stone over that period of time! Plenty of time to make sure that you can get into that Little Black Dress without the lumps and bumps showing too much.

This is how it will work:

The first two weeks will be very strict. I will shout at you a lot and will wave my big stick around with gay abandon. After this period, you can then relax into Bootcamp Light or, if it suits you, stick with Bootcamp for the remaining 8 weeks.

We have a Spreadsheet of Marvellousness, which will be upated each week, so that you can plot your progress.

There are 10 simple rules here , and it's really easy to do. No weighing or counting (unless you really want to). And above all, lots of support from all those who are doing it alongside you.

Who is up for it?

Thank you!

I've only lost the weight because I'm afraid of BIWI and her big stick

I've posted a couple of 'before' and 'during' photos on my profile. The 'after' one will hopefully be posted by 31st December Grin

Sorry I've cut my head off (scaredy cat who's paranoid about being recognised!)

Doshusallie · 23/09/2012 18:02

Ilovemyteddy · 23/09/2012 18:04

Doshusallie · 23/09/2012 18:08

sybilfaulty · 23/09/2012 18:10

Wow, Teddy, looking good, Lady! Inspirational!

Ilovemyteddy · 23/09/2012 18:40

Thank you.

Doshusallie who were you before the namechange? Don't answer if you don't want to.

That before pic of me isn't the most shocking one that I have, but the worst one isn't on my pc. A colleague saw the HUGE one recently and was just Shock Shock Shock She works with me every day and yet can't remember me ever looking like that. Strange, isn't it?

TellMeLater · 23/09/2012 18:52

Well done teddy!

captainmummy · 23/09/2012 19:01

Bad bad day today - had Far too much wine last night, and really only a slice of toasted seedy bread and Jam would work this morning. Then made a lovely lentil soup for lunch so have had the weeks carbs already!

Chicken and lettuce for dinner. Back on it now, andstill feel crap/hungover at 7pm!

topsi · 23/09/2012 19:34

How would I go about making a low carb water cress soup? I was thinking stock, garlic etc then watercress then blitz then add cream?

Doshusallie · 23/09/2012 19:39

Same here captain mummy. You just have to keep eating and eating, you never feel satisfied.

Today I have put away:

Greek yog
4 egg omelette cucumber and celery with mayo
Pork scratchings
Chicken leg
Suede mashed with butter and cream that I made for the dc's tea
Moussaka

Am now in bed to stop myself eating anything else.

Ilove my teddy have pmed you.

I can't wait for the LCB to start. I tried to avoid carbs last week and was really strict apart from Friday night where I ate half a pizza and drank wine with my neighbour. However I have lost two lbs since Monday morning.

aroomofherown · 23/09/2012 19:53

I'm a lurker. I'd like to join but have a question. I've been eating paleo and VLC for about a month now, with low level cardio (cycling to work) and a few resistance workouts (about twice a week). I was thinner but lost in total only about half a pound. Bastard scales.

Can I join even if I have a few servings of sweet potato or rice a week (because I've decided I feel better with a few carbs)? Please???

And advice if you don't mind...why didn't the weight drop off, even if the size did? I'm still 20 pounds over the upper limit of my healthy weight range so I've got a fair bit to lose. I'm scared of coming on here and following all the rules and being the only one who's not a loser Blush

BIWI · 23/09/2012 20:51

Weeeeeeeeeeeell ....

Why would you want to eat sweet potato and rice? You won't feel better with those carbs - and, in any case, you should be getting your carbs from vegetables and salad.

This is why the weight won't be dropping off!

If you don't follow the rules, then you won't lose.

Honestly. If you're still eating sweet potato and rice, then you will not be low carbing.

Ah. I wasn't eating rice, but I was lacking energy despite eating fat etc. I was having a sweet potato a week. And perhaps a few little cheats (like two small celebrations chocolates) about twice a week. And a couple of glasses of wine per week. But no cheating AT ALL for the first two weeks. I don't think I hit ketosis at all during the whole month.

OK I can give up the rice. Can I keep the sweet potato and stack it up as carbs from vegetables? Or is it too starchy?

Is exercise ok?

aroomofherown · 23/09/2012 21:09

Ah. I wasn't really eating many veges at all, mostly protein.

aroomofherown · 23/09/2012 21:09
Blush
BIWI · 23/09/2012 21:10

No sweet potato! No chocolates and, in Bootcamp, no wine!

If you do that, and follow the Bootcamp rules, you will be in ketosis. Make sure that you c+p the list of allowed veg, and focus on eating those that are 3g carbs per 100g.

Exercise is definitely OK.
