The Little Black Dress Low Carb Bootcamp - starting in 2 week's time!

BIWI · 16/09/2012 21:43

Following on from the success of Bootcamp v1, where we lost in the region of 70 stone between us, we will be running a 10 week v2 Bootcamp, starting on Monday 1 October.

This is designed to take us up to the end of the first week in December, by which time you should have lost at least half a stone - and that's being pessimistic. There's every chance you could lose more than a stone over that period of time! Plenty of time to make sure that you can get into that Little Black Dress without the lumps and bumps showing too much.

This is how it will work:

The first two weeks will be very strict. I will shout at you a lot and will wave my big stick around with gay abandon. After this period, you can then relax into Bootcamp Light or, if it suits you, stick with Bootcamp for the remaining 8 weeks.

We have a Spreadsheet of Marvellousness, which will be upated each week, so that you can plot your progress.

There are 10 simple rules here , and it's really easy to do. No weighing or counting (unless you really want to). And above all, lots of support from all those who are doing it alongside you.

Who is up for it?

Thanks for the congrats! Smile

Cathy I'll continue to low carb, I love the food and I sleep better without carbs, will also continue to fast twice a week, potentially going to once a week if I lose too much weight. Will continue to train as well - I feel more fit and toned than any other time in my life and I'm over 40!

I will still be hanging around BIWI cheering you guys on and reminding you that this works, sometimes you just need to be patient.

Off to post an amazing pancake recipe...feel like I've died and gone to heaven it tasted so bloody good!

TellMeLater · 25/09/2012 10:33

humphrey and dosh if you've been low carbing for a while, maybe you should kick start your boot camp by having a carb fest before hand...might work - who knows, weight loss is all bloody voodoo.....it just makes no sense.

HumphreyCobbler · 25/09/2012 10:35

ooh, I tried that on Sunday!! unintentionally

I find stories like yours terribly inspiring, well done Smile

HumphreyCobbler · 25/09/2012 10:35

oh god, perhaps I should try fasting

I really don't fancy that much tbh

Spamspamspam · 25/09/2012 10:40

Hello all I am in AGAIN! Lost 2 stone last year and went from 13.3 to 11.3 - I felt fantastic but really wanted to lose another half a stone taking me to 10.10 which should be a size 12 (am 5'7") however I have messed around all this year and find myself up again to 12stone and all the lovely clothes I bought last year are starting to feel tight - grrrr

I am amazed at how light some of you are!! But I shouldn't worry about that - just focus on my own goals Grin.

Scrambled eggs and smoke salmon for breakfast.
Curried Cauliflower soup for lunch
Definately getting some kale to make kale crisps for snacks
Slow Roasted lamb with veggies for dinner

NO WINE, NO CHOCOLATE, NO NUTS (for me cos I eat far too many!)

BIWI · 25/09/2012 10:42

I'm doing intermittent fasting - which really only means skipping breakfast. You have 16 hours of fasting from your evening meal. So if you eat at 7.00 pm, your next food isn't until 11.00 am (at the earliest) the next day.

Given that many of us aren't always hungry at breakfast, I thought I'd give it a whirl. Not sure if I'll do it every day, because I also don't believe you should really go hungry - but will be interested to see how it goes.

some of us are really short Grin
I am 5'2". I am overweight at about 9 stone Sad

HumphreyCobbler · 25/09/2012 10:43

I could skip breakfast, do you have a drink?

BIWI · 25/09/2012 10:47

This morning was my first day - I had about half a cup of coffee before the gym. On gym days, I won't fast till lunchtime, but I won't eat beforehand, like I used to.

I think you're allowed hot drinks, but I suppose they should be milk-free really, otherwise it's not a fast, is it?

hang on hang on hang on... intermittent fasting? i do that all the time. why am i not healthy and skinny?

BIWI · 25/09/2012 10:49

I'm also 5ft 2in. At 9 stone 9.5, I'm definitely still too heavy. You can see the rolls of fat around my middle, still. One above my naval, one below. They are a lot less prominent, and I'm wearing tighter-fitting stuff these days, but they are definitely still there. I also have a bit of 'back fat' which hangs over my bra. So I know that there is still weight to go (and I'm only just into the desirable/healthy BMI zone too). I was hoping that I could get away with 9 stone 7 as a target, but it's looking like I'm going to have to aim for 9 stones.

I NEED to join in too. Started the first bootcamp mid April and lost 24lb by the end of May but then it started falling apart and now I have put all the weight I lost back on again Sad keep trying to get back on track and do really well then it all goes wrong, just cant seem to get back in the 'zone'.
BIWI feel free to shout at me to keep me in time, going away at the end of October and dont want to go feeling like a huge blob like I do now.

StrangeGlue · 25/09/2012 11:10

Can I join?

I was just into a not healthy bmi before I got pregnant and ate my way through pregnancy. I've lost 20lbs so far which takes me back to pre-preg weight but have another 14-21 lbs to go to pre-chunky weight. So I'm aiming for 133-140lbs. I always used to vary from 134-144 so confident its doable and healthy.

Will need lots of breakfast and lunch suggestions!

StrangeGlue · 25/09/2012 11:10

Oh I'm 28 and 5'5"

WillieWaggledagger · 25/09/2012 11:19

can't put up google doc at work, so will do it once i get home, sorry!

i am 5'7" but quite narrow-framed, so fat shows easily and clings to my thighs and hips especially, and although at 9st7lb i have a BMI of 21, i'm still pretty wobbly. i've lost about 2 stone on this woe since april, but although my weight looks good i'm not svelte by any means

i am trying to do resistance training now for toning and health purposes (strong history of osteoporosis in my family), so my weight might go up but body fat down

i'm going to do bootcamp to keep myself on the straight and narrow really - i'm not looking to lose weight but i easily slip into bad habits with cream/sweeteners/nuts/wine, so a few strict weeks will do me good, and it's so inspiring doing it alongside everyone here

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 25/09/2012 11:50

well thank god for that. [not even kidding]

LittleFrieda · 25/09/2012 11:58

Count me in, please.

Kickboxer · 25/09/2012 12:04

Oooh, count me in please! I've taken up kickboxing, which is motivating me to get my diet under control. I've been eating soooo much junk lately Blush

mumtoblaire · 25/09/2012 19:00

I am in. I have spent £160 from Jan - August at Weight Watchers and lost a grand total of..................3lbs!!!

I know my portions of carbs are totally to blame so this should be perfect.

I am 5'4" and 10st 2lbs Shock

Willowisp · 25/09/2012 19:05

well I'm on day 2 & suffering (no poo namely).

I've been eating butternut squash, broccoli.

I've had 1/2 avocado for brekkie, babybel as snack (instead of my normal satsuma). Lunch was 70g onion (yes really!), 1/2 red pepper, 1 courgette, fried & turned into an omelette with 1 tbsp of sesame oil + green salad. All put into myfitnesspal (I bloody love that app!). Had my 2 tsp linseeds, quarts of water. My lunch came to over 600 cals, so only managed 1/2 a (good quality) burger for tea. Was going to have butternut squash & broccoli for tea too, but am saving it for later.

Have to confess to 150ml apple juice in 3/4 pt of water as can feel myself shrivelling up...also fed up with mouth-full-of-blotting paper syndrome.

Via fitnesspal can see I've cut back about 100g a carbs a day.

Just read day 3 the worst. Bought a celeriac today, so will make the celeriac bake. Got a massive tub of creme fraiche, so that is my go-to easy snack.

I know calories aren't supposed to be counted, but I'm averaging (on my 2 days !) about 1200cals & 52 g carbs.

Feel free to advise me on suitable veg choices (normally a carrots & sweet potato girl)
