I've just joined slimming world, today is day 2.

Please can all those who have joined please come along and share your experiences, what you have eaten today, goals and cheer each other on?

I did ww 4yrs ago and lost 3.5 stone, this time I'm aiming to lose about 1.5 stone by christmas.

Today I've eaten a huge fruit salad and natural yogurt breakfast, tuna salad for lunch and I'm having jacket potato, salad and steak for dinner followed by all my syns on alcohol with dh as it's our wedding anniversary this week.

The rule is - you can eat as much free food as you like, of which 1/3rd should be superfree.

The point is you CAN eat as much free as you want, but if you want to lose weight consistently you need to eat healthily - so a) prioritise superfree (fresh low cal) foods, by putting them on your plate first and b) stopping eating when you are full.

At the end of the day, if you want to lose weight, you're gonna need to eat a healthy diet, and fruit and veg is a major component of that.

Oh, weigh in last night, lost 2lbs. I'm chuffed with two weeks' good weight losses in a row after hols.

Very well done Dee and Mr Dee. I know it is a bit daunting with men as they lose so much faster, we have some chaps in our group, one has lost about 8 stone now, even last week he lost 10lbs!!

God Im frustrated. I dont seem to have shifted any but I am due on so very bloated.
My problem is that i do "cheat" almost every day Blush but in the tiniest of ways eg. 1 sweet or tiny cake which I forget to syn.
Is this one of those diets that there is just no room for cheating?? I am going to have to be stricter when counting syns I think Im doing great with the food its just the picking in between.
Well done everyone Envy

I joined SW in June, so far I have lost 2 stone 12 pounds. I know that I am overweight (very) and have a long way to go (about another 6 stone to go), but the diet seems to be working for me.

I have lost on average 3 pounds a week, there have been 2 weeks that I have put on a small amount, but so far so good.

I use my SYN's and walk everywhere I can, bounce on a mini trampoline and do the Wii Fit.

It is the first time that I have really been motivated to lose the weight, I would like to be able to run around after the children, live to see my Grandchildren.

This morning, my 5YO told me that they she wished that I was a skinny Mummy. It was good to be able to say that I was trying.

I would like to have lost about another 1 - 2 stone by Christmas and maybe this year I will let the family take photos of me.

1.5 off this week!

Dd2's birthday this weekend though and I'm making a cake......

Good Luck Riadiculous

Wow you are doing well Bosgrove, my mil lose almost 7 st with slimming world, 3lb a week is good going!

Ledkr - I've brought the 100 extra easy days booklet and I'm trying to stick to 3 meals a day (fruit in between if I absolutely can't hold out) maybe that's worth a go?

I'm rubbish at counting stuff, too complicated for me so I just try to be as good as I possibly can be and think the syns will take care of themselves, I think if I counted I'd end up eating more for the sake of having all my syns.

LilBC - well done on your weight loss, can't believe the 10lbs in a week guy!

Just - I think 1-2lb a week is def achievable esp if you can exercise too.

Dee - your chap needs to rub off some of his weight loss onto you! 24lb is amazing!

xroads, I haven't written down my syns this last week - I roughly know what is what, and I've maybe had low fat spread/lighter than light mayo, or an options, or a quality street, but NO booze/crisps etc, so syns will have been below 10 every day (maybe even below 5), but I have stuck to 3 meals a day with just fruit in between, and it seems do-able.

Not great for DH, need a second opinion, and then it will either be the end of the road, or a massive op. Nothing we weren't expecting, but if I'm honest I think it would be better if they just said there was nothing else they can do and put him on pain management.

ah well...

What 1/3 superfree foods do you eat at meal times? This is something I am struggling with. Had a tin of plum tomatoes with my pasta & fish last night. Looking for ideas & something that is very quick!! Thanks :)

1lb on this week Blush - I know I wasn't following the plan properly and doing a lot little cheating so I can only blame myself.

Have re-focussed and feel much more stong mentally now, two days without cheating so far !!

Superfree foods - veg, fruit ............... you could make a veg soup to have before your meal if that works better or a big colourful salad. I prefer to make a fruit salad rather than just an apple or orange for example which can be boring. Just re-discovered chopped melon with ginger which is lovely.

Hi
What sort of things do you all have for breakfast and lunch. I'm a childminder so although I work from home time is limited, hence I eat crap when in a rush. Need something quick and filling Sad

Ragwort · 03/10/2012 16:43

I had a banana and a fat free muller vanilla yogurt for breakfast this morning if that helps? Yesterday I had baked beans, fried egg, bacon and tomotoes.

Lost half a lb last night!

Today I've had fruit for breakfast, apricot wheeties for lunch with a slice of birthday cake (for my mum) and cooked vegetable curry and rice for dinner (had a tiny choc bar for pudding)

The girls are coming round tonight, I need to stay strong and not eat anything else!

Can I join in too please? I've been doing SW for a month now and am finding it really hard but reading this thread has cheered me up as it feels like we're all in the same boat. I used to stay for the meeting thing after being weighed but it leaves me feeling like a bit of a failure tbh so I sloped off straight away last night as I managed to lose 1/2 pound in three weeks (I don't understand this tbh as my Wii Fit reckons I've lost 4 pounds in the last five days and according to my weekly measuring up ritual, I've lost 4 inches from my waist and bust and dropped a dress size but hey ho!) and couldn't face being lectured about it.

Anyway, I've lost 3 1/2 pounds so far and have four stone to lose. I think I'm being really good most of the time but I'm a strict vegetarian (taking a break from veganism but still avoiding dairy as much as I can) and am finding that I'm using up my syns on chicken substitutes and fat free yoghurt (I can't have Muller Light or Quorn)! ;)

Oh and it's my birthday tomorrow so I expect this week isn't going to be my finest either as I'm planning a day of pumpkin spiced EVERYTHING and also curry. ;)

Hi everyone!

Due to get weighed on Thursday morning. It's strange, despite knowing I've been good, not cheated, stuck to my syns etc, I still get really anxious round about now each week. Anyone else feel like this or am I a bit of a worrywart?

Anyway, I got my 1 stone award last week which I was really happy with. Hoping for a good loss this week but we shall see.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. X

Lost 3lb this week (not quite sure how but as I'd put on a pound the week before it's really only 2lb over two weeks Grin).

Good luck to everyone else.

I am glad I found this thread. I was about to start a thread asking if there is a SW thread.

Third meeting for me tommorow. Lost 3.5 lbs last week. Have 2.5 stone to loose al together.

DD's first birthday party next week. I'll save my syns for cake, but anyone have any ideas on low syn party nibbles - there will be grandparents, a few of our friends and DS (4) and some of his cronies. I'd rather not have bowls of crisps etc out - savoury snacks are my downfall!

Lost 3lbs my first week, finding the diet more flexible than weight watchers. Have found time for exercise this week too so fingers crossed.
Love the SW chilli, yum Smile plus I forgot how nice gammon is. Am loading my plate with carrots and sugar snap peas a lot as they're my favourites so all in all going ok. Apart from one day i ran out of yogurts so nicked one of the kids ski ones - checked afterwards and they're 3 syns - eek!

Can I join you please?
Started SW on Thursday and was shocked at my weight.
Finding it quite hard to stick with it at the moment, so am using today as my first 'real' day. Making some savoury rice for lunch then the beef bourginoun from the magazine for tea.
Have done my weights work out (Chalean) and am off to the gym this evening with my friend. Am hoping that will counteract some of the terrible food choices I made over the weekend :/

Aspiemum2 · 15/10/2012 11:41

Hi rockinmum, welcome. Try the Chinese flavour, it's so nice and goes great with mange tout and sugar snap peas Grin
Forget about what you've eaten previously, you can't change it so don't beat yourself up over it, just stick to the plan and you'll be fine Smile
