I knew I had put on wieght. But bloody hell I have reached 15 stone and now really need to loose it asap. I have signed up to mfp and intend to stick to that and exercise at least three times a week. Anyone want to join me in a monday wiegh in and motivation thread.
I find I am a picker and wil binge on crap. I need to get serious and healthy before I get any older and become nable to join in stuff with my kids.

Hey all, how's everyone doing this week?

I have worked out I'm definitely a stress comfort eater! Have had to look after niece & nephew after school a couple of times this week as well as my own 2. Was very tempted to reach for the biscuits when they were all bickering...but i didn't. I also didn't eat their left over pizza yesterday - i figured eating 4 children's left overs was a tad excessive!!!

I'm off out tonight so will see how well the diet survives. Think I'll have something like a tikka, and gin & slimline tonic instead if wine!

Good luck over the weekend everyone. Weigh in again on Monday - eek!

Goldensunnydays81 · 22/09/2012 21:27

hello
How are you all? sorry i went awol, have had family staying and i kind of went off diet but am getting back on it slowly and will be fully back on it by monday!! Blush
only i am definitely a stress comfort eater and my family well my dad seems to be the biggest trigger!!
hope everyone has been getting on ok

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 22/09/2012 21:38

Have not had a brilliant day and picked quite a lot, but at least it's all low carb stuff so hoping effect not too bad.

Have just booked holiday for August next year so always a good motivation to get in shape.
Am intending to be better with food tomorrow and run as well if I get the chance.
Hope everyone else doing well.

lavenderbongo · 23/09/2012 01:54

Well not had a particularly good weekend dietwise. Chinese and pizza! Very yummy but not very healthy. Going to try and do lots of exercise on sunday and stick to salads to try and make up for it.
Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. Will have to see what the weigh-in brings tomorrow.

Morning everyone. Have been very good yesterday after my cheat on friday. Hoping to continue on now.

Shall we have a recap of everyones starting weight, weight now and goal?

Starting 11st 11lbs
Current 11st 1 lbs
Target 9st 7

Just taking boys to football then am going to have bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs for breakfast. I love low carb Grin

whyme2 · 23/09/2012 16:07

I have sent DH to the shop to buy me a wispa. Sorry. It is a done deal now.

Will be back on the straight and narrow tomorrow and weigh in on Tuesday as usual.

Convert · 23/09/2012 17:19

Remember a wet toe is easy to dry, have the wispa, as long as you don't follow it with three packets of crisps and a family size toblerone it's not the end of the world! Hope you enjoyed it Envy

whyme2 · 23/09/2012 19:34

wispa s was lovely thank you. Didn't have the third. Quite fancy a walk now though.

whyme2 · 23/09/2012 20:44

So I did a quick 1.5 mile walk and feel loads better. Also realised that I may have been a little PMT ish as my cycle is all over the place lately which would explain the cravings for chocolate and crisps. (I ate a packet today and one yesterday which I rarely do these days) definitely period now though.

I have no idea what my weight will be tomorrow but I know the scales are not stuck now. Grin

Feeling positive for Monday.

How did your salad sunday go LavendarB ?

Have your family gone now Golden ?

lavenderbongo · 23/09/2012 21:07

Hi whyme - ended up at Wagamamas. But luckily all their food is listed on mfp so i was able to count the food accurately and have kept within my calorie count.
PMT does really affect food cravings. I find it very difficult to not pig out around that time.

Well I have paid for all the bad food! No loss this week, stuck at 90kg. Not giving up though, I have just walked the girls to school and wil just have to stick to my goals this week.
I am determined having looked at all the success stories on mfp that I will get down to 10 stone (I am just over 14 at the moment). If all those people can do it so can I!
Going to work now - got to make a load of 15 yr olds miserable by ging them a mock exam Grin

Morning all, well i caved on Friday night and have a lovely creamy lamb passanda and a couple of glasses of wine. But was fairly good for the rest of the weekend. My husband however fell off the wagon big time and munched on crisps & chocolate on saturday as couldn't deal with his hangover with it!

Weigh in tonight, so will have to see how much damage i have done.

My starting weight was 13 stone.
Current weight is 12st 11lb
Target 11st 7lb (although according to some random website i found it should be 10st 10lb but i just really don't think that is doable!)

I'll let you all know how weigh in goes later.

Lavender - no loss isn't too bad, at least you didnt gain any. Good luck for this week.

whyme2 · 25/09/2012 06:33

I lost a pound this week. Good going especially as I wasn't too careful over the weekend.
I am three pounds of the next level (ie being 15 something instead of 16 something)
Feeling very excited.

OnlyGirlinmyHouse · 25/09/2012 14:15

Oh dear, i put on 1lb. Going to have to get serious now! Have got mfp on my phone, going to limit myself to 1200 calories & must start doing some exercise.

Definitely feeling deflated this week!

lavenderbongo · 26/09/2012 19:54

Hermione - thats a really interesting thread. Havent read all of it but I will at he weekend.
How is everyone doing this week. I have been doing okay so far. Sticking to calories and exercised everyday! My legs are aching a bit though!

Hello everyone.

I did look at the link and I found myself very confused. could you give a little summary for the hard of thinking me?

I am doing well, sticking to calorie limits on mfp and exercising every day so far.

I still find the evenings a little difficult though. It is hard to break the habit of munching on any old crap just because it's there.

HermioneHatesHoovering · 27/09/2012 21:09

At the top of that^^ thread I posted, is a link to the previous thread, best to read that first, it's long so will take a while.

Basically you work out your BMR (how many cals you would use up if you were in a coma) then add in your exercise level, then work out how much you want to lose per week and you will arrive at the amount of calories you should be eating. Sounds really complicated but isn't.

The thinking behind it is that too many people eat too few calories when trying to lose weight which is ok for a short term fix but not good for the long term.

I am new to this myself but it makes perfect sense when you think about it.

whyme2 · 01/10/2012 10:04

I did read some of it Hermione and I kind of get it. I think I am going to stick with mfp. I very rarely eat too little if I am honest Blush

So where is everyone?

HermioneHatesHoovering · 02/10/2012 00:24

I am doing MFP, I just used that info to find out how many cals to eat to lose 1lb a week, which in my case is quite a lot as I've a lot of weight to lose.

I believe the thinking is that if you diet at a low daily calorie level then your body adjusts your metabolism downwards so that eventually you have to eat less and less to lose weight.
From what I've heard the default on MFP is around 1200cals/day which I think is very low.

I'm sure if I've got that wrong someone will be along to correct me but that is my understanding.
I would rather lose the weight fairly slowly and eat a reasonable amount and then have a decent calorie level in the future to be able to maintain.

Convert · 03/10/2012 08:55

Morning! Have been staying away due to my spectacular fall off the wagon Blush

We had a few drinks with my BILs the other night and I watched a video of us dancing and I felt sick. I look so bloody fat and I can't stand it. I MUST do something about this. So here goes again Sad

How is it going whyme? You sound like you're doing really well.

I had a look at the link Hermione but doesn't sound like it will suit me. I'm quite fussy so it makes calorie counting very difficult. I hope you're doing well with it.

My MIL has booked a spa day for me and SIL on the 20th nov so have decided if I can get under 10 st for then I will treat myself to a full body massage. hopefully if I can lose some weight the therapist will not see me on the table and call greenpeace Grin

So today it begins! I need to do some exercise but I can't really afford to join the gym at the moment, I'm not a strong enough swimmer to do laps really and I just hate the thought of going for a jog (we live on a very busy A road).

Just going to do 30 mins on my rowing machine thing and make some bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast.

whyme2 · 03/10/2012 11:53

I do agree about losing the weight slowly because I understand your body will adjust it's metabolism to suit the amount you eat. I keep my body confused by regularly having off days Blush Grin
I know for myself I need to eat a reasonable amount everyday and I don't want to be in a position where I lose the excess weight and then have to constantly worry about regaining because my metabolism has dropped so much. So I am aiming to lose weight slowly, making sustainable changes to my eating habits.

Welcome back convert Grin Nice to see you back. I do my exercise either at home with my dvd's or by walking. I can't afford gym fees or swimming at the moment either so I do what I can. Not doing any today though as I have a poorly DD home from school.

Convert · 03/10/2012 12:02

Thanks Whyme.
It's a bit difficult to do a dvd at home as I've got a 1yr old DD and DS2 is pre school. Waiting for the day when they all go off to school and I can have some peace Grin

Hope your DD is ok, it's horrible when they're ill. DD has just had the MMR jab so has temp and very grizzly Sad

Hope you can lose the three lbs and get down to your next level soon. Fingers crossed for this week!
