I knew I had put on wieght. But bloody hell I have reached 15 stone and now really need to loose it asap. I have signed up to mfp and intend to stick to that and exercise at least three times a week. Anyone want to join me in a monday wiegh in and motivation thread.
I find I am a picker and wil binge on crap. I need to get serious and healthy before I get any older and become nable to join in stuff with my kids.

Whyme Does that work? Have you done it before? So do you still eat fairly sensibly on the up day or eat chocolate and cakes etc? Well done for yesterday! I am drinking diet coke too but as its go no carbs in, it's allowed!

I did have three glasses of wine last night but was still under my carb limit so I'm hoping it will be ok Blush

Grovee have you been dieting or just eating more carefully?

Sorry, I'm dead nosy today!

Typinginsecret · 04/09/2012 11:02

Whyme - one of my friends is Doing a version of the same diet - with some great results.
Enjoy your eating day!!

Convert - Iam cutting out carbs - but just the basics - pasta, bread, potatoes , rice.
You sound much more organised than Iam about it - are you finding it hard?

Convert · 04/09/2012 12:36

I'm actually finding it incredibly easy at the moment, seems too easy to be honest, I'm wondering if I'm doing it right!
I don't like salad or most vegetables so most diets I fail miserably at.
I love bread and pasta but it's not bothering me so far. I really really want to lose this weight, it's getting me down now.

whyme2 · 04/09/2012 15:50

Convert I have done this one before and it does work. Last time I lost a stone in about 6 weeks. It can be difficult when you are expected to eat and can't but sometimes I swop the days around to fit with what I am doing. I do try and eat three meals on my eating days but I often have an extra cake, ice cream, bar of chocolate something nice. My dh is very Hmm about it though.

Today I have had scrambled eggs on toast for brekkie, a blt wrap for lunch with choux bun and lots of tea. Not sure about tonight - might be stir fry or fish cakes.
I honestly don't think I could do a low/no carb diet though.

Convert · 04/09/2012 16:44

I'm Envy at your choux bun!

I'm amazed it can work that quick, a stone in 6 weeks is brilliant.

I did have a steak for lunch with some mushrooms and it was lovely. Was tough not to pinch even one of the kids chips though.

fivegomadindorset · 04/09/2012 17:26

Whyme have you tried the 5:2 diet, like yours but 5 days eating normally and 2 under 500. There is a thread about it somehwere. I also could not do a low carb/no carb, or not for a long time.

Today has been a good day, granary toast fro breakfast with marmite and Lurpak lightest, packet of crisps at break, soup and a peach an melon for lunch, spaghetti with anchovies, garlic, chillies and spinach for supper and so under points I have been able to have another piece of toast to keep the 5pm hunger pangs at bay.

lavenderbongo · 04/09/2012 19:47

Very envious of loosing a stone in 6 weeks whyme. Just not sure I could stick to eating so little on the off days. fivegomad I like the sound of the spaghetti with anchovies. Just having brekkie here. Toast and matnite again!

Hi hows everyones day going?

whyme that is great with 1 stone in 6 weeks, i just dont think that i would be able to survive on the off days.
covert your lunch sounds lovely!
Well today has been good with lots of veggies!! Even had lunch out at a lovely cafe had homemade veggie and pine nut burger with sweet potato wedges and was very good and didn't eat the bread roll!!
I find it really hard not picking at ds bits like he had some mini cookies and it took a lot of will power not to have one!
off to bed soon so i wont have to think about food!!!

GalaxyDefender · 04/09/2012 21:32

Had a bit of an off day today, went to my mum's and had a muffin and a sandwich from the Greggs where she lives Grin
However I always eat better food at her house (she's a veeeeerry good cook) so I guess it evens out!

I'm also very jealous of the stone in six weeks - I managed that before, but only by destroying my legs via exercise (I worked them too hard and gave myself shin splints, very painful and meant I could barely even stand up for two weeks). I'm glad you have a diet that's working for you, whyme! Couldn't do it myself, so big kudos to you.

whyme2 · 05/09/2012 06:44

The way I get through the very low cal days is by telling myself I only have to wait until tomorrow. So the thought might pop into my head that I would really like to eat, say, a bacon sandwich. So mentally I put it on the menu for tomorrow. Seems to work for me at the moment.

I have read some of the 5:2 thread but I think you still have to careful on the 5 days, at least this way I don't have to think on the other days.
I have done calorie counting and other diets. It's hard whatever I do and I have a long way to go. . .

The choux bun was lovely though Grin

lavenderbongo · 05/09/2012 10:07

Well I have had another good day but did not have time for exercise apart from the usual running round you do as a Mum!
Hope everyone elses day goes okay. Guess I am the only one running on NZ time so hope you all have a good wednesday.

Hello
Have come here for a bit of a rant, have got a friend who is tiny she weighs 7 stone, but she never stops going on about how overweight she is. we went shopping yesterday and in next she tried on a pair of size 6 which were too small then was complaining that they didn't stock size 4 and that obviously next make all their clothes bigger than actual sizes!! Sorry just frustrates me that i weigh about 2 1/2 times as much as her!! And I know everyone has there own issues but it's as if she makes a point of going on to me about it!!

Sorry rant over Blush

Convert · 05/09/2012 13:09

Oh Golden, don't blame you for needing a rant. I think some people can be a bit self centred at times. I'm sure she didn't even think about it. Just think when you've lost some how her comments won't bother you!

GalaxyDefender · 05/09/2012 14:28

I agree, thin people who constantly moan about how overweight they are makes me want to punch things! Luckily for me, the skinniest person I know (my sister, who clearly got all the good genes as she's about a size 6, drop-dead gorgeous with perfect hair Envy) is completely oblivious to anyone's weight, including her own Grin
-hugs for Golden-

I've had a pretty good day so far, went for a run walk with DS in the sunshine and managed to only buy a kit-kat for us to share. So today I've had some toast, half a kit-kat and a yoghurt, and I don't feel hungry yet! Chicken kievs or home-made burgers for tea tonight, yummy.

Hope you ladies are all doing well Thanks

Typinginsecret · 05/09/2012 17:27

Morning all Smile

I have managed to stick to my diet but I so wish I could find our scales. The pounds must be falling off me Wink even though it's only been three days.

Will have to have a good look through the remaining boxes this afternoon.

Goldensunnydays81 · 06/09/2012 07:39

Whyme tell me about day 4 now have lost at least 1/2 stone hehe Grin
Well sorry about my rant yesterday am feeling more positive today, I had a head ache all day yesterday, probably sugar withdrawal!! But it has gone now so heres to a better day!! Am off out for breakfast but our lovely little Cafe does porridge and I will take a few strawberries to chuck on the top!
Just need to start the exercise now!

Hope everyone has a good day

Convert · 06/09/2012 08:17

I'm still feeling really positive. DH gave me a few funny looks last night when I had spag Bol minus the pasta. I told him, nothing tastes as good as thin feels Grin

Have had a pepperami and some cheese for breakfast because we are at an airfield waiting to do a parachute jump. Am hoping the cafe opens soon!

Everyone seems to be doing very well, congrats to all!

Goldensunnydays81 · 06/09/2012 09:09

Oh my goodness you are braver than me covert!! I wouldn't be able to eat anything through fear of it coming back up again!!
Have fun!

whyme2 · 07/09/2012 06:51

How was the jump convert? There is no way you could persuade me to do something as mad as that!

I am still hunting for our bathroom scales in the devastation left behind from the house move. Today I am going to look in the garage. It may take me a while . . .

Convert · 07/09/2012 07:15

Jump was fab, we were doing it for a charity that support the hospital my baby was treated so once everyone has sponsored us I had to do it!

I'm feeling crap today, I had to get up at half three in the morning and by 7 last night I was so exhausted we had Chinese for tea Blush so back on track today hopefully.

Good luck with the scales hunt whyme, are you settled in your new home yet? I think my scales were only about a fiver from asda if you're not successful!

Typinginsecret · 07/09/2012 10:53

Convert.. Well done on the jump! Would you recommend it?

Convert · 07/09/2012 14:49

Yes typing I think if you fancy doing something like that it was an incredible experience. I don't think I'll be dedicating my weekends to chucking myself out of a plane but I'm very glad I did it!

How are you getting on, feeling positive since your weigh in?

Typinginsecret · 07/09/2012 15:20

Hi - thanks for asking, yes Iam.

I have lost 11 pounds since the last week of July and am starting to notice the difference in my clothes etc.

Still got about 3 stone to go!!! How's everyone else doing?
