I knew I had put on wieght. But bloody hell I have reached 15 stone and now really need to loose it asap. I have signed up to mfp and intend to stick to that and exercise at least three times a week. Anyone want to join me in a monday wiegh in and motivation thread.
I find I am a picker and wil binge on crap. I need to get serious and healthy before I get any older and become nable to join in stuff with my kids.

Thanks convert I agree about losing it steadily. Right now I need to begin with the exercise I'm off out for a brisk walk (attempting a short run) shortly and I have dug out my skipping rope from the shed, going to try and do something extra everyday even it is only 15 mins.
Like the idea about measuring hips, tummy etc would be good to see the numbers whittle down.

lavenderbongo · 16/09/2012 21:55

Hallo All!
Despite an 8yr olds birthday party and fish and chip I have still managed to loose 3.4lbs. Yippee! So determined to keep going now.

Well done everyone on their weight loss!!

Good to see we are keeping up the exercise.

I did nothing yesterday - first day in about 3 weeks where I didn't exercise!! Was out again Saturday night - very late night - 3 am!! So was pleased I had managed to shower and get dressed, let alone exercise!!!

Off out for my walk now - aqua aerobics tonight!

Have a good day everyone

OnlyGirlinmyHouse · 17/09/2012 09:47

Morning all, well i had a fairly successful weekend. No chocolate, so in my book that is successful!!

Its our weigh in tonight so i shall report back later to let you know how i get on. I am also planning on going for a run tonight, as that is one thing that i am not doing so well on - exercise! Although, the amount of running around i do with 2 small children and working part time should be exercise enough!

whyme2 · 18/09/2012 10:42

I am one pound down this week Hmm not sure what happened there but my jeans are much to big for me so something is happening.

This is my third week into the diet, don't think I have gone along this far for a long time. I've also done some walking too.

OnlyGirlinmyHouse · 18/09/2012 11:05

I lost 3lbs. I know thats not too bad, but i wanted to have lost more than that and now i feel really deflated!

Oh well, i must not turn to the chocolate for comfort!

I am going out on Friday night, for a curry. I normally love all the creamy sauces etc. Any suggestions on the best things to eat at an indian when on a diet?!

Convert · 18/09/2012 15:07

Well done whyme, I've only lost a pound this week but I can definitely see my tummy is a little smaller. I think it's better to not get too hung up on the weight because it can fluctuate if you're retaining water or if the wrong time of the month.

Onlygirl that's fab, don't feel disheartened. You've done really well, just keep going. If you lost three pounds a week, that's nearly a stone in a month. What about chicken tikka? I love kormas and stuff too!

lavenderbongo · 18/09/2012 19:44

Well done everyone. Very imressed with the amount of exrcise people are doing, think i will have to up mine.
Onlygirl - 3lbs is a lot! I was trying picture exactly what a pound looks like, but I think its a fair amount. Will now go and google :)

OP posts:
lavenderbongo · 18/09/2012 19:50

Right I have googled :) 1lb is just under half a kg. So it is about a tin of beans. So if you pick up and actually look at a tin you can see it quite a large amount of wieght to loose! If you think of a tin of beans falling off you each week that is pretty impressive!

OP posts:
OnlyGirlinmyHouse · 18/09/2012 20:01

Thanks for the words of encouragement, feel a bit better now Smile

Had a bit of a stressful day with the children today so very tempted to comfort eat but managed to resist. How is everyone else doing?

whyme2 · 18/09/2012 22:10

The tin of beans thing is quite helpful actually. I can picture tins of beans strapped to my waist now Grin

Well done everyone - I think 3 lbs is an amazing loss.

HermioneHatesHoovering · 19/09/2012 03:34

I'd like to join this thread, things are getting dire here and I have to lose weight (yet again need to lose the same weight for about the third time)!

Convert · 19/09/2012 07:19

Hello hermione. What kind of diet are you doing? We seem to have a complete mix on here but they all are working so far!

I've been very strict the last three days and I'm feeling good. Think there is a problem with my poxy scales though, the bathroom floor isn't very flat and one of the kids moved them yesterday and I've discovered if you move them around they weigh completely different amounts! One place was 11st4 and somewhere else said 12st.

Are the scales fucked or is it the uneven floor? Will they weigh me as less than I am? Am I really 12st? Arrgghh!!

On the plus side, my jeans feel loose Grin

Convert · 19/09/2012 09:45

Have put the scales back in the place they were Grin and they say 11st2. Hoping that's right. That will be 9lbs in two and a half weeks.

whyme2 · 19/09/2012 12:00

You will have to draw an outline of the scales on the floor Convert.

Welcome Hermione! So frustrating isn't it. I have lost this weight twice before over a 12 year period though. But even so.

I have gone back to mfp and have started logging my calories again. I think doing the fast days has shown me that I can choose what to eat and when. So I do have some will power. Just need to engage it. Oh and keep doing the exercise too.

HermioneHatesHoovering · 20/09/2012 03:06

At the moment I'm calorie counting. Have lost with WW in the past but don't want to join up again. Have also done Low Carb but don't feel very well when I do that.
I'm having to lose weight that I've previously lost in the past, how bloody stupid is that!
You'd think at the ripe old age of 52 I would have learnt wouldn't you, but apparently not Confused

sixchickens · 20/09/2012 06:23

Hey all,hoPe it's ok for me to join in here....

Hermione, I also hate hoovering! And I'm now heavier than I've ever been, but a few years ago I lost 3 stone pretty much without trying... Went from 13st to 10st just through various bad events in my life and not eating properly.. However obviously then I started eating junk again and ballooned. I know now that I'm going to have to be careful with food forever as otherwise it will just all go back on again! I think portion control is key....

Convert · 20/09/2012 08:40

Morning all, how is everyone doing today?

Welcome SC, are you trying to cut out the junk? How is it going?

I'm now paranoid about the fucking scales so have been on again today and they say 11 st 1 Grin

Hermione, I'm worried about maintaining the weight loss afterwards, my SIL and BIL have lost weight a couple of times over the last few years and always seem to put it back on and a bit more too.
My plan is to have a 5lb range and when I get to the top of it, I will just do low carb induction for a couple of weeks to take me back down. My brother does it like that and it works really well, if he is on holiday or something and eats loads, he just does a week LC.

wornoutbutstillwonderful · 20/09/2012 18:40

Well its thurs midway between my weighins. I have been doing good with my meals lots of veg, 2 boiled eggs for breakfast etc, but I am letting myself down with my cuppas, drinking too many cups of tea and with milk and sugar.
Hya sixchickens Hope this thread helps I'm only on week two but have found loads of tips on here.

HermioneHatesHoovering · 21/09/2012 06:48

Oh yes I have lost and gained the same weight several times. I am reasonably intelligent but in the case of food I seem to wear blinkers!

whyme2 · 21/09/2012 07:07

I think my scales are stuck!!! I have weighed exactly the same all week now. But I have stuck to my guns calories and also exercised every day. Last night there was a small ben&jerry shaped blip though.

Just need to keep going really.

Welcome sc. I think maintaining is hard too, which is partly why I have set myself quite a high goal weight because I think it will be easier to maintain a higher weight.

Can you cut down on the sugar wornout if not the tea? I drink a lot of tea at the moment and also diet coke which is not that great healthwise.

sixchickens · 21/09/2012 08:19

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Convert-yep tryng to cut out junk and also limit my daily calorie intake to 1200... Was also supposed to be excercising more but a hectic week at work Has meant i havent found the time (bad...

Not sure what to expect by Monday...

SC x

Convert · 21/09/2012 10:36

I haven't been exercising either SC, meaning to join a gym but will have to wait til payday!

We somehow ended up hosting an impromptu birthday party for one of the bar staff last night so after drinking my own body weight in wine I am officially declaring a day off the low carbing to deal with my hangover Grin hope everyone else is doing better than me.

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 21/09/2012 12:36

Am signing up

Lavendersbluedillydilly1969 · 21/09/2012 12:41

Oops meant to say am joining please. Have put on almost 2 stone over last 18 months for no real reason. Just a few too many biscuits and leftovers I guess. It's got to stop though, I'm heading for my mid forties and refuse to get a middle aged spread as well as wrinkles and creaky knees. It's not fair but I am not buying any clothes in a larger size, I have enough for the winter just can't get into any of them.
I'm starting with a week or two of ultra low carb them will have a bit of fruit again and more veg. It's hard but it works, just need a huge kick up the arse to stick with it.
