I knew I had put on wieght. But bloody hell I have reached 15 stone and now really need to loose it asap. I have signed up to mfp and intend to stick to that and exercise at least three times a week. Anyone want to join me in a monday wiegh in and motivation thread.
I find I am a picker and wil binge on crap. I need to get serious and healthy before I get any older and become nable to join in stuff with my kids.

Hi typing. 11lbs since July is impressive! I will weigh in on monday. Been doing pretty well and stuck to my exercise and calorie limit so hopefully lost something.

Hi, Can I join? I seriously need to give myself a kick up the backside. I lost a stone last year going from 13st 10pds to 12st 10pds bbut I think I have crept back up to 13st 2pds. Ideally I would like to get to around the 10st mark.
I will weigh in properly on a monday morning. I have had a dish of couscous made with a chicken stock cube, sweetcorn, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and beetroot then strawberries a bit later. I will I will I will I will be able to treat my self to a lovely slinky dress for christmas parties this year.

Goldensunnydays81 · 07/09/2012 22:44

hi everyone

hows everyone getting on?
typing - that is great with the 11lb you are nearly a quater of the way there!!!! wish i was that far in!
Well i am still plodding along the only naughty thing is 2 licks of the icing spoon for my mums birthday cake but i didn't eat any cake so that is a good thing.
Is anyone else following the GL diet?

Typinginsecret · 08/09/2012 07:49

Welcome worn.

That's a great goal to have - hadn't thought about slinky dresses for christmas!

Well done golden on resisting cake!! What's the gl diet?

Convert · 08/09/2012 09:02

Well done typing, 11 lbs is fab!

Food yesterday was good, I did have a bottle of wine last night but still under my 20g of carbs. Alcohol is my biggest problem but living in a pub it's very hard to avoid the drinking culture!

GalaxyDefender · 08/09/2012 10:06

Yeah Typing, that's amazing! Grin And welcome worn!

Had a bad, BAD day yesterday, don't think today will be much better. Was horrible and sunny yesterday, and heat makes me feel sluggish and tired. Could barely get up when my heat headache set in so DP went to the chippy for tea Blush On the bright side, had to run around after sunshine-mad DS all morning.

It's not much better this morning Sad It's September, where's my 16-degree temperatures? I cannot function in this muggy heat!

lavenderbongo · 08/09/2012 21:39

I'd like to know what the GL diet is too!
Messed up a bit yesterday as we went to watch the All Blacks match and I obviouly had to have a burger at the game Blush! Today will be better as I have started with an apple for breakfast.
Golden - icing is very difficult resist, i dont blame you t all. Weigh in tomorrow so I hope I have lost something this week.

Convert · 09/09/2012 09:34

Morning all, had my weigh in today, 11st5lbs that's 6 lbs in a week! I'm so happy Grin

Goldensunnydays81 · 09/09/2012 11:43

woo hoo well done convert that is fab!!! bet you are so pleased!!
lavender how did you get on today?
galaxy i'm with you on the not liking the sunshine i love cold autumn days!! saying that i love the heat abroad just not in england!

well i had a sneaky check this morning as i was feeling that i hadn't lost anything but i was 17.12 which is a loss of 5lb!! just got to hope that it is the same tomorrow on official weigh in day!!! feeling better that is down into the next stone bracket!!
The gl diet is glycemic load diet which means that i am just having things that have less of an impact on blood sugar levels and slowly release energy and i am definetly feeling so much better for it.
So my food for the day is a bit like this

breakfast - porridge with skimmed milk, handful of berries and some agave syrup
snack - 2 oatcakes with hummus
lunch - salad with chicken and 3 oatcakes
snack - half a punnet of raspberries and some sunflower seeds
dinner- salmon with steamed green veg and 3 new potatoes

hope everyone is having a good day

Typinginsecret · 09/09/2012 14:41

Well done convert and golden!!!

Had a bit of a blow out last night re booze!!
Still managed 32 laps (1/2 mile) of the pool thus morning - with a hangover!!!

Golden Iam trying to cut out carbs - and am thinking I will really miss my porridge on the winter!!

Convert · 09/09/2012 15:16

Well done golden!

Typing I'm very impressed with that many laps especially with a hangover Grin

Looks like we are all having a good week, let's hope it continues.

GalaxyDefender · 09/09/2012 18:31

Well done everyone! Seems like we're all motivating each other, which can only be a good thing.

Golden, your daily meals sound delicious! Grin I do love porridge of a morning. I've done a lot better today, was still horrible outside but I felt actually hungry for the first time in ages Shock It's such a novelty for me, it really is.

lavenderbongo · 09/09/2012 21:23

Yippee! 7lbs in the first week! So pleased. Will try even harder this week. I must admit I do feel better generally. I have been making myself eat fruit which is something I never do and I just feel that I have more energy and more cheerful!

Good morning all.

Well done to all you losers Grin sounds like you are doing all the right things so long may it continue.

I have, ahem, found the scales. They are not being kind to me. I weighed myself this morning and I am 16, 7. Which is quite a lot. I don't know what I weighed at the start of last week as I only found the scales yesterday, safe to say it would have been more.

I am going to repeat what I did last week with three very low cal or fast days and two normal. This weekend was normal and I didn't go mad. At least I will be able to track my progress more accurately now.

Convert · 10/09/2012 07:17

Well done lavender!

Whyme, you'll probably feel much better next week when you can check if youve lost, doing it without that reward is much harder.

whyme2 · 10/09/2012 09:32

I know convert I turned the house upside down on Friday looking for them. Dh found them in the garage on Sunday. I was so keen to weigh myself before the weekend to get an idea of where I was. It is surprising how much of a difference it makes seeing that incentive.

GalaxyDefender · 10/09/2012 11:24

So I've done my weigh-in - lost about half a pound Grin
I'm not that fussed, bad week due to heatwave, I wasn't expecting much. I'm just glad I haven't gained! It's raining today so I'm looking forward to going for a nice long walk with DS in a bit. [weirdo emoticon]

Well done Lavender! And you can do it whyme, I agree that the scales are a big motivator.

Typinginsecret · 10/09/2012 12:11

Well done lavender and galaxy on your weight loss!!
Whyme - it's great now that you can keep a track of where you are up to - it wiill keep you motivated.

Went for my walk this morning - and god my feet were sore!! Still I did the full circuit and now getting ready to go for lunch with a friend!!

Hope you all have a good day x

lavenderbongo · 10/09/2012 23:50

Golden - that diet sounds really good. I have cut down on the amount of sugar I have as I am sure thatvwas what was making me feel tired as I would binge on chocolate and feel crap an hour or two later.

Well done all of those that have lost weight and typing 32 laps is very impressive. whyme once ou can see the figures gong down it becomes much easier.

well i am off to avoide eating dds birthday cake and to do some zumba. :)

OP posts:
wornoutbutstillwonderful · 11/09/2012 11:18

Well I done my first weigh in yesterday morning and as expected I was 13st 2 pds, everyone on this thread seems to be doing so well you all sound really motivated. I have filled the fridge with lots of nice fruit and veg going to pick up some wraps later and chicken fillets.
Changes I have made so far - I have cut out bread, coffee and am ddrinking only black tea with no sugar. I am also limiting the amount of potatoes and pasta in my diet. So here goes..... slinky christmas dress here i come Smile

Convert · 11/09/2012 14:32

Good luck for this week worn.

I'm really craving some chocolate or something sweet today. I haven't had anything sweet for over a week and I really really want to stick to this diet, I really don't want to look at myself in the mirror anymore and see all this fat. It would be so stupid to give up now and make my self worth lower because I can't control what I eat. I'm tired and fed up. It seems like this should be the easiest thing to do, all I've got to do is not eat certain things and it's so bloody hard.

whyme2 · 11/09/2012 15:35

convert you are exactly right, it is bloody hard. Always sounds so easy on paper. Just eat this, this and this, blah blah and don't eat that bad stuff.

It is hard and you have to congratulate your self on keeping going this far. Stay focused and away from whatever it is that is calling you. Good luck Smile

Oh and if you do,er, dip your toe in the water so to speak don't dive in and drown. A wet toe is easy to rectify!

Convert · 11/09/2012 15:57

Whyme, thank you. I'm at the park with the kids and I'd bought a flapjack from the garage. I read your post, had one bite and chucked it in the bin. Grin

whyme2 · 11/09/2012 16:43

Well done Grin

lavenderbongo · 12/09/2012 06:28

Hi All!
Anyone got any ideas of what I can have for breakfast? I am on mfp and trying to keep to a calorie limit of 1200 per day. I have two slices of toast every day and I am getting bored with it. Marmite and toast as its low in calories but very dry and boring. So if anyone has any good ideas for low calorie brekkies that dont take lng to prepare that would be great. Thanks.
Hope everyone is still doing okay!
