Good morning, I am pleased to say I am running out of even my old "thin" clothes, unfortunately that means I'll have to go shopping (I hate shopping). At least I can shop at more shops now, and I won't have that moment in the changing room where the trousers stop halfway up and I have to ask a shop assistant to get "this in a bigger sizeBlush". I hope I get to do the opposite thoughGrin
I will most likely go during the week once the DCs are back at school.

LollipopViolet · 02/09/2012 10:27

I'm off for a HUGE gym session.

There was over indulgence at the wedding so this week will be damage control before holiday :(

And probably some weight on tomorrow :(

InMySpareTime · 02/09/2012 13:33

I made a potato bake, MIL said after we'd dished up 3 thin slices of potato "ooh, that's enough potato for me!"
I said "you know it's a potato bake, potato is pretty much all there is to it"
She eventually had 4 slices of potato swimming in veg stock. I left the room, biting my tongue, when she said "these are old potatoes, my greengrocer says the old potatoes are rubbish this year, not good for anything...." I left at that point to avoid throwing it over herAngryAngry.

marriedinwhite · 02/09/2012 13:41

Ooh well done everyone. I have got into my jeans for the first times in two years and they aren't even cutting into my tummy. They are the right size Grin.

Oh IMST - sounds dreadful; mine never criticises the food - just counts it! Her jibes to me are always about me doing incredibly well for someone who is practical rather than academic - unlike her daughters who went to Russell Group universities who have never done a days professional work and plead poverty because neither they nor their partners like work

MilkshakeMaker · 02/09/2012 14:22

right well this is most def a weekend off, I had the wedding yesterday and was feeling pretty good in my bridesmaid dress..until I saw the photos of me in it(thank god for the de-tag button) I'm nursing my hangover with bacon sarnies and tea and biscuits but tomo onwards I will be trying harder than ever.

So envious of all you ladies doing so well, keep up the good work!!

reastie · 02/09/2012 18:54

IMST 15 hours to go now Angry

married excellent news Grin

milkshake I know what you mean when you think you look fine then you see the pictures. Had that with my sisters graduation pictures and it's what spurred me on to really work on losing weight.

Well, no shift on the weight this week Sad . Have been working really hard on what I'm eating and been to the gym 3 times, and usually below my kcals on MFP but maybe its not enough. Back to work this week which I know will make things harder as I can only eat at certain times so I tend to eat even if I'm not hungry at that moment as I know if I don't I'll be shaky by the next opportunity to eat IYKWIM. Have made lots of frozen soup for dinners so at least I won't be tempted with junk when I get home and can't be bothered to cook. In good news, I found an old bag of clothes in size 18, so as I lose weight I have some bits to wear in that awkward inbetween stage where you still want to lose more so you don't want to spend a fortune on a new wardrobe. I seem to have gone down from a 22 to a 20 this summer so am hoping by at least christmas I'll be in the 18s.

Oh - and an exercise question. when I was at the gym on friday I was on the crosstrainer, wave stepper and treadmill. Worked very hard on first 2 machines and then when on treadmill my calves suddenly felt like they were freezing up/it was painful to walk as they felt really stiff and hard. Today they're still painful. Does anyone know how I can avoid this happening again or why it happened? All I can think is the break between machines from the stepper to the treadmill where I was barely moving for a minute when before I was really putting all my effort into exercise was maybe they seized up from suddenly not moving [clueless]

InMySpareTime · 02/09/2012 19:34

I can get away with leaving for work at 8.30 tomorrow, so just under 13 hours until they're out of my hair. I had a small victory over dinner. I encouraged DS to cook dinner to punish them to showcase his cooking skills. He made a bolognese sauce topped with sliced baguette. Halfway through the meal MIL said "what spices did you put in this?", DS said "turmeric, paprika, tomato purée, and, oh yes, ketchup!". MIL (who does not eat strong flavours) ate all of it, grudgingly, but it was very funny watching her try to delicately cut up toasted baguette with a knife and forkGrin.

marriedinwhite · 02/09/2012 19:39

Surely you can get away with sleeping for at least 7 though. So far less pain than 13 Grin

MilkshakeMaker · 02/09/2012 19:55

IMST Grin thats genius!

Reastie, Cameras should all come with a mode that reduces a dress size( but a secret one so no one knows its only the camera) ... I need to be a inventor!

StealthPolarBear · 02/09/2012 20:56

Hi everyone, can't remember when I last posted - drama seems to have blown over so I'm hanging around a bit longer. Thanks for the friend requests on MFP after I asked for them :) I will go in and figure out how to accept next.
I've had a good day, we had a barbecue, and even having a fair amount of nice barbecue food I have still ended the day only 100 cals over (and my allowance is 1200 so qiute tight). I'm happy with that for now. I also have a glass of wine still to have :o
I realised tonight that I feel so much better in myself when I'm sticking (even loosely) to my diet - I feel full of energy anf not bloated and a bit sick. I feel hungry for meals. I don't have the self loathing I have when I binge and I feel proud of myself and in control. That in itself is a good enough reason to do it, even if I never lose any more weight. So I'm going to try and obsess less over the weight I'm losing and focus on doing this to feel better in myself, because I really, really do.

KatoPotato · 02/09/2012 23:04

Hey reastie I come home from classes and gym sessions with all sorts of pains. I believe that if I don't feel it I've not worked hard enough!

But Xtrainer to cardio wave then treadmill can be hard on your legs, and all shredders will tell you next day paralysis is common!

Speak to the gym staff and perhaps add intervals of core work inbetween these cardio machines perhaps? I use the treadmill as my Cool down (and to watch telly) so don't pound it but this may help?

Pain is good in my opinion but you'll know your own body pain-wise! I still had a sore leg after sciatic stretches at Pilates but still went to my spin class and it cured it! And this week I don't have spin pain!

MilkshakeMaker · 03/09/2012 06:38

Right then. ----

fivegomadindorset · 03/09/2012 07:01

Morning, another week, another go at losing some poundage.

InMySpareTime · 03/09/2012 07:13

Good morning, 80 minutes to go until I leave the PILs to it, and go to my lovely much less stressful job (at a day nursery)Grin
I know they'll probably leave teacups all over the house and use all the milk for their eleventy-million hot drinks (MIL never drinks the same drink twice in a row, so she needs a different mug about every hour)... And Breathe...

reastie · 03/09/2012 07:14

milkshake I just remembered my camera has a 'tranform' button where it makes you look slimmer - it makes you look a bit not quite right though as it just squeezes you thinner, and it doesn't really work when you're in a photo with other people as you can see the comparison IYKWIM plus if you use it in portrait it makes you looks fatter

kato good pain I don't mind re: gym (infact I quite like it too Blush ) but this was bad pain Hmm

stealth sounds like a good attitude to take there

MilkshakeMaker · 03/09/2012 07:24

I used to have one with a 'beauty shot' which wouldn't make you thinner but would whiten your eyes and clear your skin...but ds dunked it in his mug of milk and it never recovered.

MrsPnut · 03/09/2012 07:28

Morning, I braved the scales this morning. Wanting to peek from between my fingers but I have lost half a pound in the last 17 days.

It is much better than I deserve after the amounts I have consumed recently so I am back to MFP and will do my menu plan in a bit. We also have a few bits of back to school shopping to do and we need to erect our tent to dry off the groundsheet properly. School isn't back until wednesday and OH doesn't go back to work until then either so it's like a double weekend.

Hope MM is kind to everyone else.

InMySpareTime · 03/09/2012 07:43

pnut enjoy your tent erection

PooPooOnMars · 03/09/2012 08:05

Fuck sake!

After losing 2lb last week i had a good week until a few days ago when due to nights and days out in hard to eat healthy places i appear to have put 1lb back on!

I also had some alcohol and Im really hoping that has just caused some water retention or something (grasps at straws).

I went over about 1000 calories over the whole week which you would think would halt the weightloss rather than making me put some on!

StealthPolarBear · 03/09/2012 08:17

PooPoo you're right. I bet it is water retention, try again after a few really good days

reastie · 03/09/2012 08:22

poo I had a similar situ last week - I had put on 3 lbs though I think. Mine was gone the next day so sure it'll be similar for you too

PooPooOnMars · 03/09/2012 08:31

You lot are so nice Smile

TheOneWithTheHair · 03/09/2012 08:48

Noooooo!!!

2lb gain. :( I knew it would catch up with me in the end. I also think it's because it's the totm.

Oh well. Dcs back this week so it will hopefully be easier now.

littlemissstan · 03/09/2012 09:03

Hello everyone, it's lovely to hear about everyone's 'thin' clothes!

I was doing ok, birthday lunch and dinner on Saturday but was drinking not too much and eating not too much, but then yesterday morning we found out that my beloved Nana has had a massive stroke, so fell off the wagon and firmly into eating my feelings Sad She is probably going to be ok, but can't live at home any more, so that's a whole load of extra stress now. Ugh.

But, am determined to try not to do my usual sad binge (well, I did yesterday, but trying not to make it a longer thing) - I went round this morning and threw away all the cheese/ice cream/dips/crisps I bought yesterday and am back on the cereal and skimmed milk.

StealthPolarBear · 03/09/2012 09:11

So sorry to hear that little miss. Hope she is OK x
