Hello losers!
Another 2lb off for me this week.
Emma - Jins is right about being in it for the long haul and not worrying about a pound here or there. My aim is to lose 77lb by the end of the year and, apart from the fortnight I was on holiday, when I put on loads, I have managed to lose at least a pound every week. Those pounds, plus a bit extra on some weeks, like last week, mean that I have lost 53lb since mid-January. I'm not being ultra-good (I have a full-fat latte most days because you wouldn't want to be around me if I didn't!) and I have a square of dark choc a couple of nights a week.
If you look at it as a long-term process, and the way you are going to eat for the rest of your life, then it's not a diet, as such: it's the way that you eat now.
Oldbag
at your name - I would echo what everyone has said about drinking loads of water to get over carb-flu and to stop the spots/cracked mouth. I know the IPD girls say that you should take supplements, but I haven't taken any, as I think that what I am eating now, with its fresh veg and salad, and mainly unprocessed food, is far better for me that the crap I was eating before.
DH has been calorie counting for the same time as I have been low-carbing. He has lost 23lb but has stalled for about six weeks. We were watching the Hairy Dieters, with their oh-so-boring, calorie-counting message. Sigh. I added up what I had eaten that day, and it was 2000 calories, but only 30g of carbs (which is what I have been trying to stick to.) So, in my eyes it proves that LC-ing works and calorie counting doesn't. I was 21lb heavier than DH when we changed our eating habits. Now I am 9lb lighter, but more significantly my BMI, cholesterol and body fat is lower than his. And this is in spite of eating butter, cream, cheese, full-fat milk etc etc
DH still can't see why I prefer this WOE...
