Well, week 15 of Bootcamp has just ended. But the support and banter will continue! I, for one, am carrying on for the next couple of weeks until my holiday, in the hope that I can drop another pound or so before I go.

There have been some brilliant losses in the last two weeks, so I'm hoping that you'll all be sticking with it too!

I use this one, Nigella.

I know lots of people don't like protein shakes but I'm not a breakfast eater so wanted something I could have quickly first thing. I don't think they've interfered at all with weightloss etc but they're not strictly Bootcamp (though India and Neris think they're okay Grin). I mix a scoop with water and double cream and it keeps me going until early afternoon most days.

Lots of flavours, pretty good value, quick delivery. You can get samples to try before you buy. God only knows what 'Humbug' flavour tastes like though Hmm

NigellasGuest · 17/08/2012 17:52

I'm not a breakfast eater either - have been missing it altogether for the last few days and it seems to have kickstarted a bit more weightloss for me (or maybe it's coincidence).
These might be useful .....
could you use them as part of a fast/semi-fasting regime do you reckon?
(mmmm Humbug Wink)

teaandthorazine · 17/08/2012 17:59

Yep, I think you probably could - I seemed to go the best part of 24 hours this week with just a shake and water. I've never really been a breakfast person - or even a three-meals-a-day person so fasting does seem to work for me on low-carb because my hunger is so minimal.

Thegoddessblossom · 17/08/2012 18:06

Evening. 8pm here. Pool/beach/pool. Grin

B: Greek yog
L: ham, cheese, salad,olives.
Snacks: far too many nuts and far too much gin. If I gain weight on this holiday it will be down to nuts. Fact.
Tea will be BBQ.

Having a wonderful time.

Sharon- men are twats, period. Hth.

Hi willie, welcome back!!

Bloss

Xx

teaandthorazine · 17/08/2012 18:07

Bloss, that sounds like bliss Grin

clare8allthepies · 17/08/2012 18:29

Oh dear, this weeks not going very well, first our planned day out on Monday was off as DD was ill, then had to use a days leave as needed to keep her off nursery on Tuesday, then stayed in all afternoon for an inspection visit by my landlord (who didn't turn up) then my night out tonight has been cancelled! Angry

DP has gone to the shops for much wine, and we're having a massive kebab for dinner! Grin

emmak86 · 17/08/2012 18:38

Kebab ok - just no pitta (and maybe ask for a bit more salad). It's processed obviously but once in a blue moon shouldn't do too much harm.

Great huh? Grin

(God, BIWI's gonna kill me when she reads this hehehehe)

teaandthorazine · 17/08/2012 19:11

Oh, and chicken probably better because I think some of the dodgier shops probably add fillers to their doner meat!

fufulina · 17/08/2012 20:12

Evening losers,

Have kicked self in arse.
B two egg omelette with leerdammer
L salmon, tomato salad, green salad, glass of wine, straws and cream (had friends over)
D as above (leftovers; lazy)
S dark chocolate

Did NOT eat the coffee and walnut cake, or the meringues, or the thirntons given as a gift or the slab of fruit and nut in mums cupboard.

Chickens in bed (think they went in early due to the rain), so I am having a v early night due to disastrous early wake up with dd1 this morning.

Happy low carb weekends, all.

Jins · 17/08/2012 20:48

Lubilee I'm in my 10th low carb year now. It's how you eat for the rest of your life. After the first few months it's just second nature.

I look at pasta, rice and bread in the same way that my SIL looks at cheese. Poison Grin.

clare8allthepies · 17/08/2012 21:48

My local takeaway does an amaaaaazing thing called family kebab Grin

It's £10 and comes in a pizza box, a huge nan bread topped with about 6 different types of kebab, loads of salad and chilli sauce - yum!

Obviously don't eat the bread and loads of the meat is chicken and lamb tikka so not v carby. Think the wine will probably do more damage than the takeaway! Smile

I love, love, love the idea of being long term low carb. I never, ever have to eat fruit again. Apart from strawberries and clotted cream if I feel like it which isn't a hardship Grin. Always thought I'd miss pasta/potatoes and bread but now the thought makes me grimace.

BIWI, hope the holiday is going well.

V belated Happy Birthday to Hazchem. Sorry am a bit late catching up today but hope everyone is ok.

SharonGless · 17/08/2012 23:28

Busy thread today just catching up

Dc are away with my parents and missing them
Loads. DH and I are off to v festival tomorrow and am really excited. I used to go every year but last time I went was preganant with DS who ix 6. Another 40th birthday treat

Bloss - you are right . Twats the lot of them
I hope you are enjoying Hols though.
He keeps offering me crisps which he knows are my weakness especially when had a few drinks. I have resisted so far my LC friends

sybilfaulty · 18/08/2012 05:56

Well resisted, Sharon. Enjoy the festival.

AM off to Isle of WIght this morning. Am planning to LC all the time, with added wine and gin. It's very liberating knowing that I can eat out without a problem choosing or indeed any hardship in terms of what you get. Will keep checking in (assuming WIFI for ipad).

Have a great week.

Hi all, just thought I'd pop in and I'd like to assure all the newbies that this WOE very quickly becomes your 'norm'. I have been doing this now for 8 weeks and am stunned that I don't miss pasta, spuds, rice or bread AT ALL - 'tis amazing! I still drink wine (weekends only) and eat a couple of squares of 85% chocolate each day and have lost 10lb to date. I

I have also introduced my sister to it and she has lost 4lb in her first week!

The best part, though, is watching peoples jaws drop when I tuck in to full fat mayo, butter, cream etc. Grin.

Oh, and for the record, I have an underactive thyroid!

EyesDoMoreThanSee · 18/08/2012 09:48

I really wish we were going away now! struggling with the heat and it would be so good to be by the coast. now if I can just figure out where I packed the paddling pool we can all keep cool!

meal out last night was really beautiful. I had a deli starter which was meats and olives with a beetroot and carrot salad. then I had steak but did fall at the final hurdle and had a dessert and, one glass of hite wine

clare8allthepies · 18/08/2012 11:31

Sigh! Looks like the wine and kebab wasn't such a good idea - 2 pounds up!

Back on the wagon for me Angry
