Rules of Motivational Monday:
The weekend is the past. You start from now. If not, you'll end up here in a couple of weeks and a few pounds heavier so do it NOW
MM involves healthy eating and some exercise. Your excuses will not be tolerated here.
MM is when we all get back into control and back into the swing of things.
Welcome all and best of luck. :)

Oh, my logging includes my soon to be dinner, by the way, so I've not got to try and feed myself dinner on 17 calories!

wherearemysocks · 26/07/2012 17:37

Bonkey, my dh is the same. He is the same size as when I met him, tall slim build with no fat. He eats a very unhealthy diet with the staples being bacon butties, sausage and mash, fish and chips, burgers, pizza etc washed down with coffee or pints of lager and cigarettes. I may be technically overweight but I am way healthy than he is, I eat a wide range of fruits and veg and lean protein, don't drink much, or smoke and I do regular exercise. Ok so I eat too much cake on top which is what has made me fat but I'm still healthier than him I reckon.

Oddboots tuna steak for dinner sounds great, I may have to pop to the supermarket.

StealthPolarBear · 26/07/2012 17:39

Well done LV i'm impressed.
How many cals are 3 scoops of thorntons ice cream btw? I dread to think!

OP posts:
LollipopViolet · 26/07/2012 17:43

Well it says on mfp one scoop is 160, so... Shock 480! OK, lesson learned there!

Well, at least I'm under my (now lower because I'm more active_ goal, which is still taking some getting used to.

Tomorrow is a new day and all that!

BonkeyMollocks · 26/07/2012 17:46

Thanks Stealth :)

Its annoying isn't it where . Dh is healthier than he used to be, but its his night consumption of crisp's and mars bars thats the problem.

Lollipop Well done on refusing a slice of fat filled pizza for a better choice :)

StealthPolarBear · 26/07/2012 17:55

I have got a quorn bolognaise out of the freezer for tea. OK so it's a large portion - 375g, but MFP says it's 666 calories. That cannot be right, surely? :(

OP posts:
BonkeyMollocks · 26/07/2012 18:09

Is it ready made?

BonkeyMollocks · 26/07/2012 18:11

Homemade with pasta?

BonkeyMollocks · 26/07/2012 18:12

Oh bugger that doesn't work Confused

It says 1 bowl with pasta is 347!

KatoPotato · 26/07/2012 18:16

LV the secret of maintaining this new mentality is to have what you fancy as long as its not to excess! Yes we can have some pizza and Ice cream as long as we're mindful that we have to make up for it! Otherwise we'll nibble miserable foods then have a disgusting blowout and give up! We bite it - we write it! (or log it on MFP)

My fat is weeping after a bootcamp session and I'm off to the cinema for popcorn and malteasers! (mixed together)

StealthPolarBear · 26/07/2012 18:18

yes, homemade, pasta separate (and logged separately)
Have looked on a few sites now and it seems to say about 50-60cals per 100g, so I've gone for 333 cals all in all.

Can anybody suggest how to log a cardio box workout on MFP? I don't know what's the closest thing - is it aerobics, circuit training or something else? have just done 30 minutes and want to see what that leaves me for dinner!

InMySpareTime · 26/07/2012 20:12

I don't even know what a cardio box workout isBlush.
Just put in whatever seems to match the impact you felt the exercise had.

OddBoots · 26/07/2012 20:23

Sorry, I don't use mfp so I have no idea.

I'm well below 1000kcal today but I'm not hungry, hope I'm not coming down with something.

slothprincess · 26/07/2012 21:40

I'm really enjoying reading your motivations for losing weight. It's very inspiring.

For me, I'm desperate for my baby daughter to grow up with a healthy attitude to food. My mum binged and dieted throughout my childhood and even now struggles with her weight. I became very very overweight as a teenager. I lost about 4 stone when I was 19 years old and have varied between about 10 stone and 12 stone ever since (I'm now nearly 32). I would like to break this cycle of gaining and losing the same weight over and over again. I would like to show my daughter how to eat "normally" like my DH does. To eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full, not to cram myself full of crap until I feel physically sick.

InMySpareTime · 27/07/2012 06:28

Hello everyoneSmile
What kind of Friday is it?
Get Fit Friday?
Good Food Friday?
Feel Fab Friday?

ssmile · 27/07/2012 06:59

feel Fab Friday gets my vote!

sleepychunky I'd estimate your exercise if it was 30mins of high cardio as 300calories, if not high intensity all the way through then 250c. MFP results are just what everyone else puts in so I do double check any of its suggestions by googling a couple of sources then once its on your favourites list you know its more accurate.

Well thank you all you have really helped to remotivate me this week and I went on my cycle trainer again last night and thanks to ministry of sound pounding in my ears I did another half hr once the girls were asleep :) I weighed myself unofficially this morn and I've already lost 1.5lbs this week :) , my official day is tom when I write it on the calendar. But I need to be very mindful tonight my DH and I are going out together for the first time in a year to celebrate me finishing breast feeding and both girls sleeping in same bedroom :o but I know I'm doo laalee after one large glass of wine, I'm such a light weight these days :o

whyme2 · 27/07/2012 07:02

Get Fit and Feel Fab Friday! Grin

So I had a sneaky weigh in this morning andn I am down 2lbs Grin so I am feeling rather pleased with myself. I need to not spoil it by treating myself with some nice food Hmm

Big news is yesterday I bought a tube of pringles which we shared on our picnic. I had 16 and no more. Yes ladies there are still pringles left in the tube from yesterday!!!! I have amazed myself with my will power.

But here we are at the weekend which I always find so hard to stay on track with so I am a little concerned but feeling positive.

I have really benefited from reading all your motivations and I am still thinking mine over at the moment.

ssmile · 27/07/2012 07:02

Light weight :o heeheee I just realised my own joke DOH!

I'm 5ft3" and started at 13st.6 in Jan and this morn was 10st13.0 :)

LollipopViolet · 27/07/2012 08:02

Sneaky weigh in this morning and I am not happy. Seriously, can I not treat myself without it having a bad impact??

Whyme, I think I know where your 2 lbs have gone... I seem to have picked them up.

Right, have decided to go to the gym again today. And tomorrow. Then again on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday next week.

Officially weighing in on Monday.

marriedinwhite · 27/07/2012 08:11

Have been soooo good this week. Have weighed in and am exactly the same as on Monday. Usually I eat a bit more at weekends. This weekend I think it's gruel. Feels more like feel fat Friday today Sad

StealthPolarBear · 27/07/2012 08:22

I love Get fit and feel fab Friday
Sorry to hear the pounds are clinging for a couple of you. Do not listen to their sob stories. You have carried them for long enough and it's time they learned to stand on their own two feet and achieved independence.

Hello all. Please help motivate me - I am 40 in dec and don't want to be 11st plus then! This seems like a sensibly supportive thread rather than a shouty one.

I need to lose a stone and a half really.

Currently 11st 8, 5ft 7. Size 14-16 on top - comically large tits - and 12-14 on bottom.

LollipopViolet · 27/07/2012 08:29

Stealth, that did make me laugh. On a similar note:

This weight is more clingy than my friend's 11 month old!

Go away weight, I have plans and you aren't included in them!

StealthPolarBear · 27/07/2012 08:34
