Did you do the level 1 once a day or more? When did you know to move to the next level? And how much do you do to maintain it? Is it as terrifying as it sounds?

Had the DVD for about a month now, and it's still in cellophane wrapping, so can't answer your question I'm afraid. They must have made so much money out of suggestible/delusional MN readers like me...

Hope you have more success!

travellingwilbury · 29/06/2012 14:41

You should be scared it bloody hurts ! I have only done two days , it is however enjoyable in a sadistic way .

I am not very fit and overweight so you will probably find it easier .

It does work though as far as I can tell . Good luck

AnyoneForTennis · 29/06/2012 14:44

I did 16 days, last 2 of those was at level 2.... Then DVD player broke!

A kind MNer has sent me a new one! Smile so I'm ready to go if you are......

AnyoneForTennis · 29/06/2012 14:45

You get used to it very quickly....

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2012 14:46

I've just done it for the first time. Was not too bad, fairly intense but I kept up. And you know there's only 20mins si its nearly over!

nomorecake · 29/06/2012 14:52

i did it a while ago, i did level 1 once a day for 10 days and then moved on to level 2 for 10 days and then level 3.

the first time i did it i realised how horribly unfit and wobbly i was.
days 2-4 i ached everywhere, groaned walking up and even DOWN the stairs!
day 5 woke up with no aches feeling great. by day 7 my fitness had improved already! - but like i said i was really unfit!

but putting the excercise to one side, i found getting up and down off the floor knackering!

make sure you do it downstairs and have plenty of head room (lots of jumping) and floor space.
wear trainers.
i needed water to hand too.

when i started i couldn't do any of the bicyle crunches. The second time i did shred i could do them all!

goodluck

Ooh thanks everyone so it's a bit scary, but do able and I will be aching for a bit? How much weight do you lose ?Strangerinthenight I've opened the cellophane but haven't made it to the dvd player yet!
Anyonefortennis I'll do it if you do.

You need your hair tied up/out of the way......and a clean floor! It's no fun being al sweaty and then lying on an uncovered floor. Bits stick all over you!

Windows open...curtains closed.

Water to hand. Weights at the ready

AnyoneForTennis · 29/06/2012 15:00

*unhoovered!!

AnyoneForTennis · 29/06/2012 15:00

When do you want to start?

YouGoonie · 29/06/2012 15:39

I've got laminate floor, I'm going to stick to it aren't I!
Do you want to start tonight or tomorrow morning?

OP posts:
AnyoneForTennis · 29/06/2012 16:56

I'm going for tonight... Drop ds at cadets and stick the other 2 at top of the house out of the way so they can't laugh at me!

wem · 29/06/2012 17:04

I'm on day 2! I've done it before and made it to about 20 days I think. You do get used to it very quickly and I moved up after about 6/7 days once I was getting to the end of level 1 without going bright red.

You need a mat or a rug or something, I think it'd be pretty hard on your knees just on laminate flooring.

YouGoonie · 29/06/2012 17:42

How much weight did you lose last time Wem?
If I can bundle DH upstairs I'll go for it tonight if not it will be tomorrow morning when he's at work!.

Don't be scared - just put the DVD in a drawer and don't watch it that's what I've done with mine

AnyoneForTennis · 29/06/2012 18:07

Well that was a little difficult in this heat! I found it quite a lit easier than first time round, simply because I knew the routine.

Nice to see Jillian again though Hmm

goonie google '30 day shred before and after' in google images.... That should inspire you. It's not so much weight loss, more a case of body shape changing.

wem · 29/06/2012 21:25

I'm not sure how much weight I lost, I was aiming for fitness and toning as much as that. It made a real difference and I felt great by the time I stopped. However, I think it has to be a kick start to a proper exercise regime as it's not a long term thing and it's pretty painful/depressing starting it all again now!

mumat39 · 29/06/2012 22:08

Hi

Just seen this thread.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks and it's still in the jiffy envelope thing that it arrived in. Everytime I think of it, I seem to find something else to do instead like eat another treat size Twirl

I'm not right in the head me. Confused

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2012 22:15

Don't worry, it takes about a month or 6 weeks to get the cellophane off IME

mumat39 · 29/06/2012 22:17

Phew Stealth. That gives me another 4 weeks of eating twirls before I have to think about it.

Oooh, Maryz, hadn't even thought of needing tenalady - eeek. I think I need another twirl.

YouGoonie · 29/06/2012 22:24

Mine is still in the box next to the dvd player.
I'm eating a large pizza and drinking beer.
I'll start tomorrow, honest!

Maryz, do you mean start to open the package, or start to get it into the DVD or actually start to do the excercise? Wink

I'm up for doing that. So we start on Sunday - Yes Ladies?

Shout "YES MARYZ!!!"

mumat39 · 29/06/2012 23:25

What sort of weights do I need? Would a couple of tins of tomatoes do?
