Well some of you are, clearly!

And I notice more talk about maintenance, which is evidently a very good sign.

I think the best way for maintenance is to gradually increase your carbs until weight loss either stops or you find that you're putting weight back on.

Don't rush out and fall face first into a plate of pasta, though! Start with fruit and veg (be careful with which fruits and how much), and possibly some legumes - e.g. lentils, or beans - i.e. we're looking to add 'good' carbs into the diet, rather than rush straight into 'accessible' carbs which have an immediate impact on your blood sugars.

Today is Day 1 of Week 1 in my 'let's get that last half stone off' before I go on holiday. (Except that last night's meal, plus a bit of 'eye off the ball' time, means it's more than half a stone now ...)

Jacaqueen, what a lovely post. It is so nice to see the scales start with a new, lower number.

I came across the following on the pig2twig forum, and think it is worth reposting - especially before TinTin falls into the pie and mash

GreenEyesAndHam · 29/06/2012 11:14

Lovely post jacaqueen I could almost feel a little teary Blush

I'm a pound off target as of this morning which will be a stone and a half off. Made my daughter laugh last night as I tried on (and subsequently bagged up) loads of clothes that I was wearing when I started this, 11 weeks ago. They looked like clown clothes Grin

I may be woefully short of clothes that fit at the moment, but this feeling is magical

MNP · 29/06/2012 11:27

Lovely post Jac and an inspiration.

Jacaqueen · 29/06/2012 11:38

Thanks for the nice replies.

Incase anyone is wondering I am just going to carry on with his over the next 2 weeks. I will admit a couple of weeks ago, when I was a bit pissed off, I had a fuck it moment and thought I might indulge on holiday. But now I honestly can't think of anything that would tempt me. Had the scales not shifted in the last few days I might have been more inclined to come off plan but not now.

There will be alcohol and there may be unintentional carbs consumed whilst eating out, but I will stick to the rules as much as possible.

vnmum · 29/06/2012 13:14

welcome silver glad you came to join us Smile, just stick to the rules that fiddle linked to and if you have time, try reading some of the older bootcamp threads too for ideas etc.

The scales are still showing the same as yesterday but I feel slimmer. It can be strange this woe but in a good way.

Gym this morning, boiled eggs with butter and CO for lunch. Must get some more water down me as not drunk much yet today.

teaandthorazine · 29/06/2012 13:19

GreenEyes - your post about clown clothes made me laugh; I had just the same thing the other day. I couldn't work out why all my trousers seemed to look rather scruffy and shapeless - then I realised it's because they're hanging off me Grin. Can't afford new ones though so clown trews will have to do for a while!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 29/06/2012 13:42

Yay for the clown clothes, Green and Tea!

Fiddle, that post is really interesting! Right, any stalling is water retention and it will go away!

Jaqua, that's such an inspiring story! Thank you.

This morning I weighed in at 10 stone 11, hurray! Sadly am heading off for my Gma's 70th and may do a wee bit of cheating such as birthday cake. Oh well, we'll see where I am on Monday.

BIWItheBold · 29/06/2012 14:12

Fiddle that made me smile - that post is originally from the Carblife website, and I've also posted it here, on one of the earlier Bootcamp threads! But it's a very useful one to see again.

Welcome silver! Original post is here, with Bootcamp rules and list of allowed veg

However - you are unlikely to be able to lose 2 stones in 8 weeks. How much do you weigh now and how tall are you? I would say that if you stick to Bootcamp rules rigidly for two weeks - speaking on the basis of averages at the moment - you might lose 7-10lbs (the actual amount will depend on how much you have to lose). After that, the weight loss will slow right down and you may have a couple of weeks with no loss at all. After that, you can expect to lose - again speaking about averages - 1-2lbs per week.

Exercising will have minimal impact on weight loss. This is sad but true. It can help build muscle, and this will help to speed up your metabolism and tone you up, but it is your diet/food intake that will determine how much weight you lose.

Eat it mindfully jan! Make sure you enjoy it and don't regret it or feel guilty about it. And be prepared for it oi trigger carb cravings.

Hi all
I thought I had posted this morning but my stupid phone is playing up.
I started off the day well but then flew to Scotland with DC last night. 2 hour delay - 1 hour on the runway waiting to take off.
DS put his sticky fingers over 2 danish pastries so I had to buy them at the airport. I really wasn't bothered about eating but then ended up eating a pain au raisin when we were delayed. Had nuts and wine on plane to see me through but then Dad had made cheese and crackers when we arrived.

Today has been much better and have explained to mum what I am eating so had boiled eggs for breakfast, burger and salad with dollop of mayo and roast chicken with veggies for tea.

Jacaqueen - what a lovely post. Had tears in my eyes too.
Jaxteller - good to see you again
Welcome to all the new joiners - it really does change your life!

Thegoddessblossom · 29/06/2012 18:54

Lunch: pack of chicken on the M4. Oh the glamour.

Crazy bonkers week. Am drinking red and have had some macadamia nuts.

Jac, lovely lovely post. I am so very happy for you. What an inspiration you are to all those people desparately unhappy with their size. You deserve all your success and I know we are all delighted you are feeling so happy about your weight lost. Well done. Would give you a big hug if you were here.

Clown clothes is also a lovely story. Grin

sybilfaulty · 29/06/2012 19:12

Jac, I fel so cheered by your post.

Had my magic mushrooms. Now off out for a steak with a pal. There may be wine. Or gin. I will try to use your fantastic example as inspiration.

Felt peckish today, so snacked on mozzarella with tiny bit of sundried tom. Heaven! THis is FAR too good to be diet food.

Have a lovely evening XXX

MNP · 29/06/2012 19:45

I bought a cheap waist clincher size 16 (I buy size 18/20/22 as I don't like tight fit) and tho it wasn't all that comfy (lasted 5hrs) it gave me a look at what loosing 4+ several inches around the middle will do to my silhouette and clothing, , I can pull it in but not keep it in IYKWIM.

The biggest pertruberences were the boobs which have always been large. Weirdly my back bra size hasn't changed in 25yrs 34" just the cup size from a D to a current GG/H.

HumphreyCobbler · 29/06/2012 19:51

I absolutely love this thread.

I am going to a wedding tomorrow, at which I planned what I would wear at 7 months pregnant. It was one of those milestones you think about when you count out the months in your head.

As you know I sadly lost the baby. That was the saddest thing. But the incredible amount of weight I put on was also really depressing me and the thought that I was going to have to go to this wedding overweight but not pregnant was SO upsetting.

Thanks to your inspiration I have a lovely size 10 fitted dress to wear tomorrow and my boobs are no longer the size of watermelons Grin. I actually think I look rather good, if I say so myself. I have also volunteered to drive as I don't want to stop the WOE (as far as possible).

Fiddle - you post has explained my pattern of weight loss exactly and thanks for posting.

I am sorry to be so emotional Blush, but it is an emotional business...

Jins · 29/06/2012 19:53

Well done humph. I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow Grin

OliviaLMumsnet · 29/06/2012 19:55

Forgive me BIWI for I have sinned.
I have had a few fuck it moments (and my friend suzanne woudl remind me to reign it in) and have fallen off bandwagon but need to get back on.
Would like to lose another 10lbs or so.
Need inspiration for my online grocery shop which is coming tomorrow.

Jins · 29/06/2012 19:59

Got to be the magic mushrooms Olivia. Everyone swears by them Grin

PenisVanLesbian · 29/06/2012 20:24

Is it really, really bad, to have 2 glasses of red wine only 3 days in? I've been perfect on everything else. I couldn't help myself, the worst pig of a day in a good while Sad

MrsHerculePoirot · 29/06/2012 20:26

Humphrey that is brilliant well done - it sounds like you will be looking fab-u-lous! It is emotional, I know exactly how you feel. At the moment I feel like the weight I gained around the mc in feb is a reminder of what happened - am looking forward o when that is no longer the case and I can get bak into some pre-Christmas clothes. Have a brilliant time tomorrow.

hillyhilly · 29/06/2012 20:29

can anyone advise me of the best guesstimate for a takeaway Chicken Tikka Balti with 2 chappattis?
I do realise that this hardly qualifies as bootcamp fodder but my DH had v little alternative so did his best by not having the rice and naan he normally would and would like to log it.
TIA

SingingTunelessly · 29/06/2012 20:55

Hello all,

Like Sharon I posted this morning but it's not here.

Shopping list should contain butter, cream, Total full fat yoghurt, lamb chops, mayo, pork belly, steak, lots of green vegs, mushrooms and if you're not Bootcamping, strawberries and nuts. All sorts of yummy full fat stuff. Smile

A very Belated Happy Birthday to Nigella, sounds like you had a good one.

Welcome to all new posters, get with this way of eating and honestly you will love it.

Jacqua, I echo everyone else with regard to your post, that was very moving and inspirational! Thank you. Smile
