Day 4 done of 30DS, but it seems to be getting harder. Is this normal?!?

MegBusset · 16/07/2012 13:37

The whole reason i work out is so I can have sticky toffee pudding for breakfast if I want to Wink

Had a break over the weekend as I was away for a friend's 40th much wine and cake may have been involved. 30DS L2 day 2 today - didn't feel too bad actually.

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 16/07/2012 15:25

First day of NMTZ last night....The first circuit almost finished me off, but I actually quite enjoyed it. It seem really long compared to RI30

I was 8st 8 and a half this morning! I can't believe I've lost so much weight just through exercise, I must have been really flabby Grin

Dolallytats It does get harder about half way through and then gets easier again at about day 6-7

Dolallytats · 16/07/2012 15:51

Glad to hear it gets better Cat. That motivates me to carry on!!

chicklitwriter · 16/07/2012 17:23

Can I join? I'm on day five today, and I'm finding it pretty tough. At the end of level 1 I'm a sweaty shaky mess. But I also get a great endorphin rush and a sense of pride in finishing it.

I love Jillian. Her style isn't for everyone, but I like her non compromising attitude. I'm starting to feel my muscles tightening, which is a big motivator.

Greedygirl · 16/07/2012 17:28

hi everyone. Just popping on for inspiration as I am tempted to phone it in today! I am going to do L2 6W6P and if I don't come back, you know I have chickened out!

Greedygirl · 16/07/2012 18:07

And done! Inevitably feel much better for doing it! Sorry not to be more sociable but my hands are shaking! x

notyummy · 16/07/2012 18:48

That is a tough workout Greedygirl!

I did my Insanity fitness test today - it is the first workout, and you then repeat it at the end of all the workouts to show your progress. It was TOUGH. Not long, but hard cardio. Cannonball jumps, burpees etc as fast as you could go for one minute each. The icing on the cake was .....wait for it.... plank jack press-ups. That's right - plank jacks a la JM whilst doing press-ups AT THE SAME TIME Shock. I was pleased that my assiduous Jillianing paid off, because I was able to keep up with 'experienced' Insanity people featured in the DVD who were repeating their fitness tests, and actually got scores that weren't miles away from theirs....apart from those plank jack pres-ups, which are from the 7th circle of hell.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 16/07/2012 20:01

Hi everyone - Notyummy that sounds horrendous! Grin I have seen an advert for insanity, and it looks like such hard work!

Level 1 killer done this evening, managed not to phone it in except on the mountain climbers.

archfiend · 16/07/2012 20:32

Hello, have had four a couple of days off Blush due to a rather hectic end to last week. However, I am now back on the wagon and L2 shred. Still finding some of it fairly brutal but I am seeing an improvement in my overall stamina and beginning to see some toning.

Decided to take a peek at L3 Shock . Don't think I'm quite there yet but might try it later this week (if I write it down it will motivate me!).

Well done to everyone else!

gypsyfloss · 16/07/2012 20:37

Wow notyummy that sound hideous but good that you were able to do Jillian proud :) So in that plank jack press up do you jump out and bend your elbows at the same time? If so I'd have a broken nose in no time...can't imagine the co-ordination needed for that.

I have eaten all manner of rubbish today as yesterday was DD's birthday tea and so we have world of pringles, party rings and amazing chocolate cake hanging around. Consequently my 6w6p was somewhat lack lustre but I did it. Tomorrow I will contemplate doing l2 for the last week before holiday...

chicklitwriter · 16/07/2012 21:27

Woot managed day five. I'm definitely getting fitter and am able to do the exercises more easily. I struggle with the bicycle crunches though, haven't managed to do the whole minute so far.

It's hard, but I do get a lovely endorphin rush afterwards which makes it easier. I'm trying to stop rewarding myself with food (emotional eater and reforming binge eater) so I bought myself lovely things in Boots today for my after shred-shower.

Anyone else get irritated that Natalie cheats occasionally on Level 1 when she thinks the camera isn't on her?

gypsyfloss · 17/07/2012 08:41

I bloody hate L2 of 6w6pk. I'm going to pretend it doesn't exist from now on and just do my beloved L1.

You're right chicklit they do indeed cheat when not being watched! Mind you, so do I Grin

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 17/07/2012 11:27

Had a two day break Sun and Mon as life got in the way but have done L2 Shred this morning. I'm finding it much harder than L1 so will stick to this for a week or so before moving to L3. Haven't tried NMTZ yet as I haven't had a whole hour spare, but hope to get onto it later this week.

chicklitwriter · 17/07/2012 11:57

I bought myself a new pair of trainers and an exercise mat today. Hope that will spur me on to do day six!

SchrodingersMew · 17/07/2012 15:18

My DVD came in the post today, it's staring at me and it's already intimidating me and it's not out of the plastic yet!

Will give it a go once DS goes to bed. :)

gypsyfloss · 17/07/2012 17:20

Go for it :)

CHST · 17/07/2012 17:24

notyummy well done on the fit test!!!!! Fantastic that you could keep up!
Greedy I have done level 2 6w6p once and quit after 5 minutes, I just wasn't feeling it. I do like level 1 though.
Keep up the good work everyone!
I did cardio 3 body revolution today and it is getting better! My worst section is the standing mountain climbers followed by high knees with torso rotation. I completed it all today without stopping today including the jumping lunges 3 times properly! I will stick at it and hopefully get better and better

gypsyfloss · 17/07/2012 17:41

I think what I hate about L2 6w6p is the speed.I feel like I am just flinging myself from one exercise to the next and although my thighs are feeling it my abs are definitely not. I did half of it this morning and then switched to her yoga instead.

I was looking up Insanity last night and lo and behold there it was being advertised on the kitchen tv this morning. It looks incredible. Much as it intrigues me I just know that I couldn't eat right to fuel it. I have tried DH's protein shakes and they were bleurgh and there's only so much egg white and turkey I can eat!

Greedygirl · 17/07/2012 18:01

Oh I love 6w6p level 2! but I agree it probably works thighs more than abs and the second round is silly fast. I am feeling it much more than level 1 though. Not enough to do it tonight though, have declared a rest day!

New trainers and an exercise mat - just what I need! And some new training tops wouldn't go amiss.

Did you shred yet schrodingers?

CHST · 17/07/2012 18:26

gypsy sorry it was you who said you didn't like level 2. I think it was the moves I didn't like, especially the low to high twist.

Dolallytats · 17/07/2012 18:45

Day 5 on level one done!! I'm like you chicklit, I have to stop halfway through the bicycle crunches!! Did more today though!!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/07/2012 19:46

Level 2 shred done - phew it was hard today! I could really feel Killer in my thighs from yesterday!
Pleased I did it though, feel loads better.

gypsyfloss · 17/07/2012 20:47

Yeah CHST the twists are irritating, I'm more than a little wary of moves like that as my lower back doesn't like them much and I'm loathe to make it twinge. What's Extreme Shred and Shed like - is that the right way round? Is she shouty like in Ripped?

L1 tomorrow instead, with 5kg for the upright moves and 3kg for the floor stuff. That'll make my arms ache!

threestepsforward · 17/07/2012 21:06

Evening all Smile

It's been so busy on here - I've just about caught up and am so impressed with everyone's endeavours!

Hello and welcome to all new joiners Smile

Wow what a weekend. I was supporting a team of 8 on a 100 km walk. 6 of the 8 completed in 27 hours and I was up the whole time, driving from one checkpoint to the next with fellow supporters to hand out TLC, plasters and motivational talk!

Watching all the walkers come through the finish point was SO emotional! I blubbed a bit Blush

I've been feeling completely wrung out though so today was the first JM I've done since Thursday. I opted for L1 Shred with 3 kg weights and that was good enough for me!

Off to google Insanity now...it sounds... Insane!
