Grin.

BigBadBear · 09/07/2012 14:58

Oh poo, my plan to exercise for 30 days then rest on my laurels while staying slim seems a little ahead of its time Grin

I'm actually quite enjoying it and have missed it the last few days. I know this makes me weird, though probably not to you lot Smile

Thanks for answering my questions. Will endeavour to not phone it in (but email is fine, right?).

missmakesstuff · 09/07/2012 18:41

I did day three of L2 Shred today, struggled a bit at the end, totally shattered as I stayed up late last night henna-ing my hair - looks great, but didn't feel good getting up at 6am today..

I have pilates tonight, bit worried as I think I have strained something doing L2 - it is really hard...

Interesting about the same time of day thing Nolda, I am doing the shred the same time every day, apart from Thursdays and the weekend, although morning is the best, as it just gets it out of the way. However, buggered if I am getting up at 8 on days off to do it!

The wedding we are going to is in less than three weeks now, the dress I am wearing is fitting well, but I need to tone my arms and waist..

I do feel like I need to do it everyday, felt like doing it yesterday but just didn't fit it in. Will do better this week though!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/07/2012 18:48

Plank twists as respite??

I need a kick please ladies. Must Shred this evening.

VirtuousVamp · 09/07/2012 19:41

::kicks massive size 8's at Ali's soon to be very petite derrière!!::

Go do it!! It's only 20minutes!!!Grin

I did level 3 shred again today - definitely prefer it to level 2Confused. Not convinced it is doing as much for me - but much better for my elbow pain.

Oh and Grin and LOL @ email it in!!! GrinGrinGrin but no still not allowed. Think of jeans shopping or bathing suit shopping. That's the killer right there!!! am I emulating JM yet??!HmmGrin

Same time every day - great idea hard in practise I think!!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/07/2012 19:46

Right I am doing it. I'm hampered by the fact that I had shred loaded onto the PC that did hook into the telly. Over the weekend DH has replaced that with a blue-ray. I cannot find my shred DVD, it is probably in the depths of the garage somewhere.
I have worked out how to get shred on YouTube through the blue-ray though, so I can still do it, but what a pain!

Greedygirl · 09/07/2012 20:40

Hi fellow JM nerds! I too follow her on Fbook and have not managed to follow any of her tips yet. I am all over the place with exercise times so i am not maximising the benefits! Oh well.

gypsyfloss I really ached after 6W6P on Friday! In fact I was a bit worried that I had done something internally around my csection scar area! But decided in the end it was just a new muscle, previously never bothered by me Grin.

Nothing much doing at the weekend apart from a bit of swimming as away with friends. Weighed myself at spa and have def lost around 5 lbs since starting Shred. Yay. And I decided to have a rest day today (starting the week with a rest day - not a good sign!) as I have so much work to do and my exercise gear is all in the wash, I love JM but not enough to wear 3 day old sweaty work out gear [vomity emoticon].

You are making me lol with emailing it in. This requires even less effort than phoning it in! I am feeling a bit demotivated at the moment so I am in danger of packing it in! But I won't I promise Wink.

threestepsforward · 09/07/2012 21:19

keep going everyone! I can't talk mind you, after BFBM'ing on Friday have done nothing since. Meant to Shred today but it's time of the month and I'm generally feeling a bit bleugh...

Had a lovely weekend though and family who don't see me that often decided i needed 'feeding up' so it was basically 48 hours at a feeding clinic! (yummy food though Grin). (I don't need 'feeding up' at all by the way, just slimmer than I was when they last saw me...)

I will be JM'ing tomorrow Smile

CHST I'm so sorry to hear about your mum's partner. I've been through it with a close friend and it's just so bloody awful, and sad. Sending you virtual support and hugs through the t'interweb... XXX

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/07/2012 22:09

Done! Grin

I did L1 because it was all I could find on YouTube. But I followed Natalie rather than Anita, and used 2kg weights throughout - except I still have to do press-ups on my knees!
I also managed to do the full minute of bicycle crunches for the first time ever - hurrah.

VirtuousVamp · 09/07/2012 22:38

Well done. I think I'll always have to do pressups on my knees!! Can't ever imagine being strong enough not to!! But I ought to give it a go!ConfusedBear

worldgonecrazy · 10/07/2012 08:35

Shred Level 3 this morning as my knees felt a bit sore yesterday afternoon, although they were mostly fine when I was doing BFBM yesterday morning.

Plank twists - I don't think I'm doing them right as they don't feel like they are using my abs - any tips?

Also supermans - do you collapse on the floor between each one, or stay slightly off the floor keeping the muscles engaged?

hope everyone is still feeling motivated. We could do with some sunny weather so we have to show some flesh - that would motivate me A LOT!

notyummy · 10/07/2012 09:01

World - I go the floor on Supermen, but lower slower so I am in control and working the muscles all the way down, rether than just 'dropping' my limbs. I know what you mean about plank twists. My only tip is to get the knee as far over and up into the opposite armpit as possible - and also to bring the hips around a bit.

Virtuous - I am firmly of the believe that everyone can do a press-up. You do need to keep trying though. So each time you do Jillian, try to start the press-ups with a full press-up. The action of trying to do it is a great workout in itself - and the press-ups on your knees should be making you stronger so you are able to do a full one eventually.

Back still sore, so a 30 minute pilates session and a 3 mile run for me. Intend to get up early and do one of the Ripped circuits tomorrow though.

CHST · 10/07/2012 10:19

Thank you everyone for the kind messages and hugs x
Virtuous totally agree with notyummy when I first started, I could not do a pressup at all! I just did one or two and collapsed in a heap. Try and do as many as you can every time even if it is one or two and it will get easier. I'm convinced a strong core helps so the more core exercises you do, the stronger you will become.
World At first I was doing plank twists pushing my knee right out to the side. I have now realised that you you work your abs if you push your knee out but up towards the opposite arm pit rather than directly out to the side
Ali well done on your progress! I have days where I struggle to get it done, it always helps having someone tell you to just do it :)
Greedy well done on your weightloss!
I did level 2 extreme shed and shred. I found it tough Shock but good tough and was nice to do something different. Will probably do a turbofire workout today depending on how I feel

gypsyfloss · 10/07/2012 12:51

Greedygirl don't stop...it's only you and me 6w6pk-ing around here and I like the company :)
I'm still on L1 daily and have lost 4lbs over the past 5 weeks ( only showing on the scales now though) and I feel fab. It's amazing what a change in the scales does for me that inches lost on the tape measure does not!
Hope everyone is doing ok, off now for a soggy walk with the hounds.

VirtuousVamp · 10/07/2012 18:08

Uh-oh!! I'm not going to manage today!Sad. Not had a moment all day let alone 20 when I could squeeze it in! Hope manage tomorrow - don't want to miss another day. Hope everyone else has been better!!Smile

VirtuousVamp · 10/07/2012 18:08

Oh and thank you - I'll give press ups a go - I suppose 2 is better than none and I'll only get better I hope!!Grin

CHST · 10/07/2012 18:43

Gypsy what is your schedule for 6w6p? Is it the only one you do? How often?
Virtuous Is there no time this evening you could squeeze it in?

VirtuousVamp · 10/07/2012 18:54

Yup in the last 45 minsConfused. But nevermind...! My neighbour is coming round at 7.30 - so I have 30 mins to get kids in bed before then and I've just been randomly pottering since 6pm so could have done it if I'd thought about it!SadHmm

Maybe I'll do double tomorrow!!HmmBiscuit

gypsyfloss · 10/07/2012 19:22

CHST I'm doing it 6 days/wk at the moment with no set rest day, that just depends on how busy I am. Prior to that I was on my 3rd loop of the Shred, with added weight. It seems to have made a big difference but I would imagine the difference is cumulative tbh. I use 3 kg weights and also 2 kg when I can on the floor work. I have Ripped too but don't get on with it at all...I find the moves too complex and her manner grates on me. I should move up to L2 but I am quite happy where I am and can add more weight as I want.

Greedygirl · 10/07/2012 19:25

Hi everyone! I really look forward to catching up with this thread, really positive stuff, thanks guys.

gypsyfloss wow that is motivational but I won't be doing it every day - do you really do it every day?! That is great. I did it again today, it is just different getting used to a less sweaty workout but probably better for my knees. Really hoping I can shave off a few more pounds doing this one, I would be happy to get under 10 stone, usually hover around the 10 stone mark but I was really creeping up until starting shred! Have you seen a change around your tummy area then?

VV don't worry, you'll soon get back in the swing of it, some days are just too busy. Can you fit it in later or early doors? I also never thought I would be able to do press ups but I do! Sit ups are another matter...

worldgonecrazy agree totally about the weather, I always have a spurt of motivation when it is sunny. I usually collapse inbetween doing superman!

Well done alibaba and keep going Smile.

gypsyfloss · 10/07/2012 19:43

Hi Greedygirl Yes I do it every day, some days I feel very dynamic and others I feel lazy and have to push myself. It does make me sweaty and my pelvic floor likes it much better than the Shred Grin. I can definitely see definition in my stomach area and feel much stronger. My trick is to stick iplayer on the ipad and be distracted; the downside of this is that I never get to watch the end of any programme as I finish before they do!

missmakesstuff · 10/07/2012 20:19

Hi all, I was rubbish this morning and hit snooze several times, didn't manage the shred this morning, although just going to wait for dinner to settle before heading down to do it tonight before bed. Did do Pilates last night, and will have yoga tomorrow night so at least will have done at least one thing everyday.

I have had a rubbish day with not much accomplished, son at least doing this will make me feel better! I am finding it ok, but tiring, I have more energy though I think. I also measured my waist etc and have managed to get to 32ish on my waist, 37 on the hips and looks like a inch or so off the boobs...haven't weighed myself though, don't own scales or I would be doing it all the time...

I am really suffering from bloating at the moment though, making me feel awful, it is something I'm eating, just wish I knew what.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 10/07/2012 20:49

I haven't shredded since Saturday morning as I came down with a D&V bug in the evening, so was ill all Sunday and recovering yesterday. Today I feel much better and have been eating properly, so hoping to shred tomorrow. I'm at work all day though so need to fit it in somewhere and as I'm rubbish at getting up at 5.45am, I usually do it around 7pm. Still want to order another JM DVD as I'm a bit bored with Shred, so planning to expand my repertoire.

Off to follow Jillian on FB Grin.

archfiend · 10/07/2012 20:54

Managed day 5 of L2 of shred today-was a lot harder today (maybe I was working harder-wishful thinking!). I really didn't enjoy it that much but at least I finished it! Off to lie in a broken heap now...
