Here we are, a brand squeaky new thread Smile

Happy Shredding / Ripping / BFBM'ing / 6W6P'ing / Killing Hmm / NMTZ'ing

OP posts:
CHST · 02/07/2012 20:40

Turbofire is already available in the UK :) It's the body revolution that's not

CHST · 02/07/2012 20:46

Greedy Lmao not quite...I have had two kids so have been left with stretchmarks :( I am hoping a tan from my summer holiday will help things. Apart from that I must say I am pretty pleased with how I am looking...am building some nice muscle. Even my 5 year old son keeps commenting. I have had a lot of comments from people about the change so that feels really good.
If you like kickboxing style, you will love turbofire by the way.
I would say that I really felt an up button from workout 8 onwards. I am being challenged a lot. I am making a lot more effort than when I first started with Jillian back in January.
Threesteps thanks for your kind comments, I am proud because I can do so much more physically than when I started. However, I look at all you guys and every one of us should be proud...I think we are all doing fantastically and I love hearing about the results people are getting. This thread really helps me keep on track with my fitness

CHST · 02/07/2012 20:48

Just to add, I have gone from a size 12 to 8 since Jillianing started in January

gypsyfloss · 02/07/2012 20:52

Haha Threesteps Grin

Did 6w6p L1 again this evening. I'm going to have a look at BFBM on you tube later. I did say I wouldn't buy any more after not getting on with Ripped...but I could be tempted. A lot of it depends on how bossy/shouty Jillian is with the girls.

threestepsforward · 02/07/2012 21:01

Wow CHST, size 12 to 8 is fantastic!

Thanks for clarification on the DVDs. I had a quick look on amazon and they're selling Turbofire for £105 Shock...so I think I may wait until Body Revolution comes out!

Gypsy she's not shouty at all in BFBM (if her shoutyness puts you off?). I think it's Ripped and Killer where she's really stepped up the shouting. And a bit of cheerleader goading too! I much prefer her when she's not so aggressive, the exercises alone are quite aggressive enough!

Greedy - DS2 is 15 months. I have always been overweight, but I put on a lot after I had DS1, I had dreadful PND and only managed to lose any when we wanted to try for another baby. I managed not to gain too much weight while I was pregnant, and then I have carried on losing. I am so determined that I'm going to get it shifted once and for all. Even before I started Shredding, I am stronger than I have ever been because of running around carting the boys about!

CHST - that is amazing - 12 to 8!. You are right about this thread, it is so inspiring. It was reading through it earlier that gave me the kick up the bum to shred.

Hmm I am wondering about BFBM now. Time is of the essence. I can sometimes fit in a workout first thing in the morning if DS2 stays asleep and I get up at 6.30. Or I have half an hour once DH gets home while he does bath time. I really need something that is no longer than 30 minutes.

CHST · 02/07/2012 21:21

threesteps I know it is expensive but I don't use the gym and well if you consider what that is a month...
Turbofire is part of beachbody (same as insanity, p90x etc) and they have a uk website now...I just had a look and you can pay there in 3 installments to ease the pain a bit

CHST · 02/07/2012 21:27

Alibaba what I do with bfbm when I am time limited is not do all the circuits. I have the DVD but quite often now use you tube as there, there is the full workout from one user but another has put it out in segments. So I often skip the warm up as I think circuit one is pretty gentle enough for a warm up and then do 5 circuits of my choice. I will have to check later how this works with the DVD if you can do the same without too much faffing around.
I have bought quite a few of her workouts. The ones that are 30ish minutes are
Ripped in 30
yoga meltdown
I think Killer is about 40 mins
6 week 6 pack

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 03/07/2012 00:11

I stumbled across this thread in Active Convos yesterday and it's given me the motivation to re-start shredding. I bought the DVD last year, did it maybe 4 or 5 times, then it sat gathering dust Blush. Anyway, I dusted it off this morning and did level 1. I can really feel it too, I can tell you, but I'm planning on doing it again tomorrow. The hard part will be fitting it in during the last half of the week on days when I'm at work.

I know my height and weight but should I have also taken measurements? If so, which ones? I don't need to lose weight as such, just increase fitness and tone up as everything seems to be heading south.

I only have her 30DS DVD and would like to get a couple more. Is there a full list of her UK DVDs that someone could please point me in the direction of?

Looking forward to joining you all Smile.

nomorecake · 03/07/2012 01:41

Thanks for the replies threestepsforward and thisisasignofthetimes.
Will get on to amazon/play in the morning!

worldgonecrazy · 03/07/2012 08:09

softkitty definitely take measurements. I take my neck, bust, underbust, waist, belly, hip and thigh measurements. I haven't lost much weight but I have lost inches and feel so much better physically.

Level 4 RI30 this morning - outdid Basheera on the final double jump rope. She phones it in when Jillian isn't looking!

Happypiglet · 03/07/2012 10:30

All my children are back at school.....woop woop...although DD gave us a scare last night as thought she might be coming down with this temp bug the boys and I have had....But she was fine this am.
Despite this I have not done anything yet today... I still feel a bit ropey so giving myself the day off. If I do Weds thru Fri I will still fit in my 5 sessions for this week.
I agree world I often see Basheera phoning it in! There is a cardio section somewhere with those boxing jabs as the second element and she switches to Shelley to 'show her how it is done' as B is so winded!!! I would love to know the dynamics in those sessions between the two demonstrators...Shelley looks hard core!
soft kitty not sure there is a list but here is mine!
Shred,
Ripped in 30 (30 min work outs set up like the Shred),
Killer Buns and Thighs (40 min workouts mainly strength some CV),

6weeks to a 6 pack (not sure how long these sessions are),
No More Trouble Zones (takes an hour mainly strength)
Burn Fat Boost Metabolism (takes an hour mainly CV).
My timings include warm up and cool down.
Think there is some yoga thing too....others will no doubt be along to help... I steer clear of yoga as i am very inflexible...altho as Jillian is too maybe her yoga would work for me!!

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 03/07/2012 10:50

Thanks Happy and World, I'll get the tape measure out and take some measurements later today. Going to see how much her other DVDs are and might order one or two, as I think I'll get the best results if I mix it up a bit, plus it'll stop me getting bored.

Just finished day 2 of level 1 30DS so I'm right at the start of my Jillian Journey, but I'm hoping to see results pretty sharpish if all your experiences are anything to go by Smile.

Nolda · 03/07/2012 11:14

CHST - well done, that inch loss is amazing.

Happy - glad to hear you're child-free again. More time for working out, yah!

I'm loving Ripped Level 3 in masochistic way. I'm finally, losing some weight. Turns out all I needed to do was increase the pain!

VirtuousVamp · 03/07/2012 16:03

Hi girls!! Been avoiding here today, but forced myself to come and read to inspire me to get on and do my workout! Been feel pants all day - really bloated, trapped wind etc - but I'm sure I'd feel better if I just went upstairs and did it - it's only 20 mins! Confused. Had very severe sinusitus a few weeks back and in the last few days have noticed some symptoms of vertigo, especially during shredding, but surely it can't make it worse - it's just an inbalance thingy in my ears isn't it?! So a bit dizzy feeling may well be just overexertion! although I do get it lying down at night too![smile

This weather is just so utterly revolting - it's not helping me! How are you all doing? Actually I've just convinced myself I'm going to go and do it now and then treat myself to a bath afterwards! Perfect - straight into my pjs at 5pm - how decadent, but I'll have exercised so it will be worth it!

Thank you all for your motivation!! Alibaba's post about feeling lethargic, but fabulous afterwards and greedy's post about being virtuous really struck a cord with me!! And CHST - wowee!! Not that I can ever hope to be a size 8 - I don't personally suit being anything less than a size 12 as I'm quite tall.

Keep at it ladies!! Smile

VirtuousVamp · 03/07/2012 17:42

Yay!! I did it!!Grin

Can I just ask - have any of you had pains in your elbows? Hmm. Think it may holding the weights? Perhaps I don't lock my elbows out - or perhaps I need even lighter weights?Confused. But would barely feel it? Should I power through it or rest for a few days or perhaps drop down to level 1 so there is less plank pose as well?ConfusedHmm

Tricky!

Shutupanddrive · 03/07/2012 18:10

Hi all, a quick question to anyone that has done 30ds level 2. I have been on this level for just over a week now (with one day off) and completed it today without stopping for the first time. The problem is my knees are killing me, it seems to be all the muscles around the knees and I can't kneel on the floor to get up. Do I keep going or have I injured myself? I remember on level 1 my legs really hurt but by day 4 they were fine. It has been over a week now on level 2 and they are no better. I really don't want to stop but can't even do the jumping jacks properly as they are so sore. Help please? Smile

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/07/2012 18:14

Well done Virtuous! Grin

I'm suffering from the same today, but I can't let the side down! Going to Shred in a little while.

notyummy · 03/07/2012 18:39

Most impressed with all this hard work and inch loss! JM has got me from a 12 to a 10 and from a pear to more of an hourglass! 10 is fine as I am 5ft 10- but still wouldn't mind a smaller arse Grin.

5 mile run at 6am today. Not Fun. NMTZ tomorrow.

archfiend · 03/07/2012 19:52

Can I join in? On day 7 of 30ds - first day of L2 today (was feeling brave) my god!! I think I am going to have trouble moving tomorrow Grin although I was quite pleased with myself as I managed more of the workout than I thought I would-had to give up on the last plank poses though.

I have also found a use for all this bloody rain as I finished L2 and had to go and stand outside for 5 minutes to cool down!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/07/2012 19:55

Done. It is getting easier to work harder, this is a good thing I think!
I really want my heavier weights to come, some of the rows are hardly any effort now! Grin

Notyummy - found myself browsing wise and avid yesterday. Once I am a size I want to stay at I will be heading there for some wardrobe advice I think!

VirtuousVamp · 03/07/2012 19:57

Well done alibaba!!!Grin. It's definitely good being able to work harder!!Grin

Hello archfiend. Well done! Smile

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 03/07/2012 20:01

So, I've just taken my measurements and my right thigh is an inch bigger than the left. Is that normal? Hmm

I've got work tomorrow and know myself well enough to realise that if I leave it until I'm home from work in the evening, I'll never Shred. So I've set my alarm for 5.55am to get it done before I get in the shower. I am not looking forward to such an early start, that's for sure. Planning an early night to compensate. Let's hope I don't just hit snooze Grin.

VirtuousVamp · 03/07/2012 20:05

Hi Kitty. Don't know of its normal but my left thigh is an inch bigger than my right!! So if it's abnormal we're in it together!!Grin. Good luck with the early start - no way could I do that!!Confused

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 03/07/2012 20:27

It doesn't look any different and I only noticed because I measured them. I'm sure it's fine. It might catch up with the other one with all this exercising Smile.

Not sure I can get up that early either! We shall see...
