I would love for some support and I would love to support someone else to help me stay motivated.

I have a lot of weight to loose.

I am going to start tomorrow, gulp.

I eat so much, it is going to be a big change to reduce the food I eat, the next few days are going to be tough.

I had cake on Friday and a party on Saturday with Indian food, alcohol, lots of, and more bloody cake. I'm back on track today. No cake :)

omydarlin · 20/05/2012 22:12

Forgot wasnt drinking had half cider in pub whoops. Busy day went up to london from south coast for chelsea victory parade lots of walking and did not succumb to mcdonalds whoop still within my cals on mfp too. Itsjustasillyphase what about a nice veggie chilli .?.. I think herbs and spices will have to be your friend.

cheapskatemum · 21/05/2012 16:37

Was saintly on Sat as didn't feel hungry at bedtime, so that snack of crudites, oatcakes & hummus was actually my dinner! Things then went downhill on Sunday as I am in sole charge of DS2 who has ASD, SLD & is bi-polar. I should plan in advance for it by making something I can just heat up for myself & wolf down whilst watching him (OMD's veggie chilli would be superb!), instead I ate Absolute Nut bar for breakfast & was starving by lunchtime, so ate half the quiche lorraine I'd cooked for DS2, no veggies with it, then roast chicken dinner with whole family in eve, including mashed potato, oh and rhubarb crumble & custard. Haven't even been good today to make up for it: started well with cereal breakfast, but then had stressful phone call to BT and comfort ate more rhubarb crumble, followed by chocs left over from Friday's get-together. Now feeling full, fat & grumpy.

cheapskatemum · 21/05/2012 16:38

On the plus side, did manage long dog walks on all 3 days.

Seona1973 · 21/05/2012 17:18

I had wine on friday night so ended up with the munchies and pinched 2 bags of the kids crisps (they were about 100cals a pack). Had a roll with bacon, egg and potato scone for brekkie on saturday, were out for lunch so had a chicken burger and chips (the chicken had no batter/breadcrumbs so wasnt that bad) and resisted having any pudding. Had a couple of drinks (vodka with diet mixer) later on and some spicy chicken wings for a snacky dinner type thing.

On sunday had the same breakfast as saturday, a shake for lunch, a couple of oatcakes with pate/philadelphia and then had steak pie, chips and veg for dinner. Shared a big bag of crisps with dh later in place of the cider I would normally have.

Today I am trying to resist eating rubbish - had cereal at breakfast, shake for lunch, oatcakes and am having fajitas with dh later. Am drinking tea to try and stave off hunger pangs while cooking dinner for the kids.

This dieting business is hard and the results take months, if not years which is quite demoralising.

cheapskatemum · 21/05/2012 17:30

Seona - I drink a lot of tea for that reason too! There also seem to be quite a few cider drinkers on here - it is my preferred tipple & I have a bottle of Magners chilling in the fridge - I wish they sold smaller bottles of it! I read somewhere that there are some health benefits to drinking cider rather than lager. Just can't remember what they were!

bucketbetty · 21/05/2012 20:48

Hi all. Was very disappointed as put on 3 pounds over the weekend. Surely slice of cake doesn't equal 3 bloody pounds. Oh well. I joined the gym tonight and the car is offroad so its cycling non stop. Fingers crossed for me. I would live to lose a couple of pounds this week.

omydarlin · 22/05/2012 19:46

How are you asillyphase? How is diet going? have managed to stay within my calories x good luck all x

whyme2 · 23/05/2012 10:17

Hi everyone.

Well I have surprised myself by managing to lose weight over the weekend as weekends are usually my downfall. So I am three pounds down since last week and I have had some nice things too friday night lager and crisps and choc

I am doing a lot of walking which must what is helping. Apart from the school run I am trying to do at least 3 x 30 mins fast walk each week.

I have also increased my tea consumption too . . .

This dieting business is hard and the results take months, if not years which is quite demoralising.
So true Seona so true.

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 23/05/2012 12:05

A mixed bag people!

Well, I have been shopping and thinking about this pre op diet. I have only got to stick to it exactly for two weeks prior to surgery.

I want to do it with a few cheats in the weeks leading up to surgery as the surgeon said I need to loose a bit before, and I want too, it makes surgery safter and makes it easier for the surgeon which is in my interests.

So I have currently a veg soup going, which I am going to use to fill up on when I am hungry as fruit is not an option.

I had a banana for breakfast, which is my fruit for the day. I will use the poridge later in the day.

For lunch, I had two ryvita with a small amount of cream cheese and 150g of prawns for lunch.

I have been good today but only because I was a parent helper on a school trip. Had a small bowl of cereal for breakfast, a ham sandwich, an apple and a bag of french fries crisps for lunch and am currently waiting for my dinner which is paella (the kids are 'helping' dh to cook it - he is so pleased they are helping - ha ha)

cheapskatemum · 23/05/2012 20:42

I love paella! Have been meaning to cook one for ages, maybe Friday night I'll do it. Well, I've been at it a week now, so I weighed myself (not without trepidation) yesterday & was quite relieved to see I hadn't put any weight on. Hadn't lost any either, but after Sunday/Monday binge that's no surprise. Yesterday I was good: hummus & pitta with tomatoes - DS4 took some for packed lunch & I thought it looked so tasty I ate some after he'd left for school, chicken stir fry & salad for lunch, a low fat cheese roll for snack and salad for dinner. So much easier when the sun shines! Today it was banana, pear & cereal for breakfast, fish sushi for lunch, Spanish nibbles for snack (serrano ham, olives, sun dried tomatoes & manchego cheese) then just 1 enchilada with salad for dinner (would normally have had 2). Exercise-wise did water aerobic class yesterday & 2 mile dog walk, Zumba class today.

Bucketbetty - that 3lb was probably water retention, or constipation. Next week you'll probably see a big loss. Have fun in the sun everyone!

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 24/05/2012 17:17

Today for breakfast I had a large banana.

For lunch I had two ryvita and a tiny amount of cream cheese and some omlette.

For dinner, I had two ryvita and a tiny amount of cream cheese.

I had five rich tea biscuits not in the diet, not going to feel bad as I don't have to stick to it 100% yet.

I have veg soup to eat for later.

hi all been for a long walk this evening stopped via the pub but only indulged in diet coke . Have used my exercise cals up on avocado yum. Not boozed it up yet aswell. So tired DH has been leaving for work a lot earlier eyelids are drooping just writing this !

cheapskatemum · 25/05/2012 21:01

Hi All! Cooked the paella tonight & had rather a large portion, Just snacks the rest of the day though: bowl of cereal, pear, apple, Nak'd cashew bar, feta & spinach burek, packet of mini chilli flavoured oatcakes, stewed rhubarb (managed to avoid the crumble topping today). Did aqua aerobics this morning & Zumba class last night. I'm definitely eating less in the heat - the sight of chubby, pale flesh in skimpier clothes is an incentive!

Seona1973 · 25/05/2012 21:34

Yesterday I did zumba followed by circuits. Food wise, I had cereal at breakfast, shake for lunch plus an apple and a couple of oatcakes. I was naughty and sneaked a packet of french fries! Had lamb curry with veggie side dishes for dinner with less pakora/onion bahjis than usual (didnt have rice, had chapati instead).

Today I did Attack. I had cereal at breakfast, shake for lunch, cereal bar and for dinner had ribs in hoi sin sauce with home made wedges, sweetcorn and coleslaw. Visited my sister after school and sat in the sunshine with diet coke listening to the 6 kids bounce and splash about in the paddling pool (2 kids mine, 3 kids hers and 1 spare having a sleepover!)

Seona1973 · 25/05/2012 21:35

forgot to add - am now having a nice glass of wine!

trikken · 27/05/2012 11:27

hi all. am doing ok food wise but could still do better. had a few drinks last night as I went to a wedding reception last night. am trying to do more walking too so hopefully that will help a bit.

whyme2 · 27/05/2012 17:04

When do you have to start the diet proper ASPIAGT
It does sound like you have made good progress with your eating along the way.

Trikken I am aiming to up my walking but the heat this week has knocked me out. It has also knocked my appetite out so I have still lost a little weight and I dug out last years summer trousers and they are looser on me this year Grin

I think I really need to stay away from the alcohol. It is definitely the thing which puts weight on me instantly. Partly the calories contained in it but also my willpower jumps out the window after the first few sips!

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 27/05/2012 18:42

Whyme2, not for a while yet, I am not sticking to it properly, doing my best for now, then I go for it properly. I will be on plain liquids for a bit after the surgery, I am trying not to think too much about it all.

I had five gingernuts and a hot chocolate just now Blush not good, they were very nice though.

I got stung through my trousers, on the top of my arse by a bastard wasp earlier when I was outside, and it is still throbbing, so don't feel bad for eating badly.

I had left over pasta, veg and meaty pasta sauce I made myself, from Friday evening for lunch.

For breakfast, I thought sod it and had some museli.

I have no clue about dinner yet.

I have really gotten into the ryvita, Italian herbs they are as well, yum, yum.

I have booked a supermarket shop to be delivered.

cheapskatemum · 28/05/2012 17:56

ASPIAGT poor you! They are so painful, wasp stings, haven't had one for 17 years, but I remember it well, my whole arm swelled up! I had bad news on Saturday - my FIL passed away. I had been doing very well, as I was on a training course & took an extremely healthy yet tasty salad & apple for lunch. Then when I got home started feeling miserable & after bolognaise the rhubarb crumble made an appearance again, as well as nice choc & nut cookies & shortbread. I resolve not to buy/make that stuff again. Was good yesterday - ate a Tesco beanburger instead of take away curry & too hot today to eat much. We run a lunch club for elderly people twice a month & always serve soup, so I had another beanburger & 2 chippolata sausages for breakfast, soup, banana & grapes for lunch & melon & 1 slice serrano ham with 3 oatcakes for snack. Will have to finish paella & spag bol tonight & tomorrow as rest of the week we'll be travelling to Glasgow, attending the funeral, then driving back again.

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 28/05/2012 18:38

omydarlin · 28/05/2012 20:10

so sorry cheapskatemum what awful news.

everyone seems to be doing well and redeeming themselves if they arent which is good!!

I have lost 6lbs so far ( I think) so thank you all. Breakfast is usually yoghurt/oats/fruits , lunch is wraps , dinners a variety usually lots of protein and veg e.g omlette and spinach, pizza and salad etc

I just need to up the exercise a bit though.

If anyone wants to add me on mfp i'm smileylittleorangeSmile

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 28/05/2012 20:38

well done omd.

I had half a fish, some mushy peas and some chips from the chip shop for dinner. My stomach has shrunk I could not eat anywhere near as much as I used to and it hurts.

How you doing everyone then in this lovely weather? Ive been to the pub but my half a draught cider was covered by the walk there and back ! Food wise have been sticking to my cals on my fitness pal - no binges yet either which is astonishing considering i'm due on. I may not weigh myself this week as im frightened about the fluid - i am taking norethistone to delay things because....

I'm going for my first ever spa day on Saturday with the girlies excited is not the word! not excited about getting my bod out though Blush
