I would love for some support and I would love to support someone else to help me stay motivated.

I have a lot of weight to loose.

I am going to start tomorrow, gulp.

I eat so much, it is going to be a big change to reduce the food I eat, the next few days are going to be tough.

Hi Girls just popping on to say hello - I am rubbish at dieting and exercise but totaly miserable about the way i look. I did start the C25k but cant seem to start again I feel like I have been on and off a diet for the past 12 years. I don't look after myself properly but spend hours on the internet looking at clothes i wish i could fit in to and look nice in .

No-one knows at home how I feel as I am too ashamed . I lost weight a few years ago and have piled it back on that is the worst feeling ever I feel like such a failure.

DH has been stressed a lot over the past few years about his job and career and I used it as an excuse to put him first but he is in a happy place now and im here and miserable.

Anyway can I join the eat less do more club - just need one step at a time I guess?

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 15/05/2012 22:49

OMD welcome. It is the easiest diet in the world, the eat less move more diet, the rules are in the diet title Grin.

Yes soy sauce, no oil as teflon and not too old a pan.

ummm cheese and ham toastie.

Yes it is a loooonggg evening, feeling hungry, the stomach needs two more days to shrink, two more days and it won't feel so bad.

I have messed up already today as my dd is very poorly. So tired just had kids. Chic biscuit and won't be able to go to shops today as she has to stay home. Will go for run after taking ds to school as dh can mind dd for a bit. Then I guess I will be trapped at home. Have been drinking soup to avoid eating too much but cracked last night and had toast:( Just salad for tea though!

What is this about 4 days to shrink tummy?

Am also going to stop buying wine this month. In fact, the cupboard is bare so it's a start.

Not sure I could sit next to a take away!!! Can you put it in the boot?

trikken · 16/05/2012 09:13

morning going well so far. just toast and marmite and a bite of an apple. (dd's,she wanted me to have first bite so its easier for her.) I feel much better today. hope I can stay feeling positive all day. have driving lesson at ten so it might change after!

omydarlin · 16/05/2012 10:49

Hi Girlies feeling a bit better today Banana, Yoghurt (nice one not anemic low fat) for Brekkie, Cup of SOup before I leave Work (1.30 ish) Bagel with Low cheese when I get home , Roasted Veg (thanks for the idea using up some Peppers with balsamic Vinegar) and Brixton Stylee Prawn Curry for Dinner (levi Roots yum). Will try to do at least half an hour of exercise on top of my walks to and from station. Tommorow is Margherita Pizza and salad for tea, Fri is Omlette. I am not drinking for the next month either had a bit of a dodgy experience with wine on the weekend !!

NO snacking either apart from apple or carrots etc.

What is the 4 day to shrink tummy?

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 16/05/2012 10:55

Hello all, you sound like you are all doing well.

I thought your stomach shurnk in three days, if you reduced your food intake, as you stretch it from overeating.

I woke starving this morning so didn't have eggs I had carbs, a nice bowl of Alpen. I am still feeling very hungry, maybe because my boobs are telling me I am due my period.

Roasted veg and balsamic vinegar, yummy. Now I have never added balsamic vinegar to roasted veg, when do you add it at the beginning?

I had my usual peanut butter on toast for breakfast today. And now the last slice of chocolate cake is calling me from the kitchen. Need to go upstairs and do some house work.
Might end up eating the cake instead of a sandwich for lunch - it's about the same number of calories Blush

Plus side I have done my usual walks today.

Seona1973 · 16/05/2012 13:08

your stomach doesnt shrink - it just gets used to having less food.

I have been using a replacement meal shake (cheap tesco stuff) at lunchtime. I did intend to have them for breakfast too but realised a small bowl of cereal with semi-skimmed milk had around the same calories and is food you can chew rather than having a milk shake drink. When I get peckish I have 2 or 3 oatcakes with a little bit of low fat philadelphia on (oatcakes only 36 cals each and fill you up quite well). I have been having my normal dinner with dh (he makes it) but he is trying to make the portions smaller and with less accompaniments than we usually have!

I do exercise already (4 classes a week) but just eat far too much. I have about 4 stone to lose probably.

MsKittyFane · 16/05/2012 13:20

Banana for breakfast and last nights Quorn Bol for lunch.
Veg, chicken and rice for tea.
This evening snacks will test me!!!
Glad you're all on track!

cheapskatemum · 16/05/2012 13:28

Hi OMD, Seona, Whyme, 33 & everyone. Aren't we dong well? I like the idea of putting the take away in the boot, it would need anchoring to stop it rattling around & ending up all over the boot, but I'm sure I could think of a way. Funnily enoush, DS1 put balsamic vinegar on his share of the roasted veg. DS4 is vinegar-phobic (just like his Dad!) so it had to go on at the end.

So far today: 2 slices of wholemeal toast with tahini & honey, low fat gooseberry yoghurt, 1 kiwi fruit, 1 plum, cheese tomato & onion omelette with spinach, broccoli & 3 new potatoes. Did first exercise of week this morning - Zumba class. Now off to take my advice about 15 minutes walking. Then a massive pile of ironing.

Does anyone else find it so much easier when the sun's shining?

whyme2 · 16/05/2012 14:08

Sun shine definitely helps. Smile

trikken · 16/05/2012 14:14

definitely find it easier when sunny.

being really good even though there is a massive bit of cake leftover from ds's birthday calling from the kitchen. I may just have to throw it away.

tonight my best friend is coming over, this will be a challenge as we usually pig out have a few snacks whilst watching dvds.

timetosmile · 16/05/2012 15:06

resisted the allure of the lunchtime bag of crisps!

So far...cereal, apple, banana, beef salad roll, 4 crispbread crackers (in lieu of crisps and about 15 cal each) and going to have second apple on the way home from work about 4ish.

I think the main thing is not to beat yourself up about the failures which we all have and move on...

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 16/05/2012 15:15

Lunch ended up being had at home, covent garden chicken soup and a buttered bagel followed by a yoghurt.

I feel hungry again already.

Used the day to go through all my clothes and put away those that don't fit including pants:) now have 2 skirts and a dress to choose from! Also did beauty routine and sorted make up. Do feel better, just need to make the bedroom and bathroom nicer to spend time in as plan to use hungry time doing beauty routines- will look better and will distract me I hope. Also ordered new running gear, not old trackies and a horrible t shirt!

Ate rather badly due to being unable to resist kids left overs. On the plus side my dh is joining me and told me he was weighed at the gym and our scales are 2 kilo out in our favour! So need to lose 6 kilos.

cheapskatemum · 16/05/2012 16:37

Great idea doing beauty routines Windandsand, much better than ironing! Not much fun rotating 2 skirts & a dress tho', could you put the money you would have spent on wine in a "clothes fund" jar & go on a spree? Hope your DD is feeling better.

Seona I like oatcakes too. Have you tried the dark chocolate chip ones made by Nairns? Waitrose sell them and I'm sure I've seen them in Holland & Barret's too. Delicious and 44 calories each. I've just had 3 with a cup of tea (1% milk). All that ironing - 3 T shirts (!) and dog-walking built up quite a hunger! Will chop up lots of veg & see if I can persuade DS1 to make his yummy Thai green chicken curry when he gets home from work tonight.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 16/05/2012 19:32

asillyphase only a thought, but I've been reading up a lot about low carb diets - started last week and have lost 4lbs already. Maybe you should swap your 2 bananas for something more protein-based? Bananas give you instant energy, but protein would keep you feeling fuller for longer. I have either some nuts and an apple, or a couple of oat cakes with peanut butter or some cold meat/piece of cheese. Don't know if it will help, but just thought I'd mention it. Sounds like you're doing well so far - keep up the good work Smile

ASillyPhaseIAmGoingThrough · 16/05/2012 19:33

WAS, great idea.

CSM, Thai gree chicken curry, yummy.

Well, as I said earlier in the day I am feeling very hungry today, and what I have eaten is less for me, so I don't feel bad.

To add to Alpen, Chicken soup, bagel and yoghurt, I had earlier. For dinner I had 1 and 1/2 fishcakes (sainsbury's readymade, salmon and basil inside) and veg stir fry and another yoghurt (nice ones not diet ones). I was again hungry after so I had a bagel with some cream cheese and salmon.

The night of trying not to eat anymore is starting to get to me, as we ate about two and a half hours ago.

What have you eaten today, and what do you plan to eat tomorrow?

I don't normally obsess about my food intake and find people in rl who go on and on about what they ate and are planning to eat very boring, this is not rl and apparently writing it down is the best way to eat less.

BJH, just x posts.

Thanks for the tip.

I am expecting the list of things I can and can't eat for the pre op diet to arrive through the post any day. I am just doing my own thing until then, good point about the banana's. I was a carb heavy today, the eating so much is better and Rome was not built in one day.

Hi, I'm using mfp and on a Target of 1200 calories a day. I have just under 2 stone to lose. I'm finding it not too bad. Mfp is a really good app and helps me to keep within target. Today I'm nor likely to use all my allowance but yesterday I went over by 200. I find I don't beat myself up either because I don't allow myself to go too far off target.

Asilly, why would you put yourself through that? It's torture. I watched great ormond st last week and sobbed uncontrolled all the way through it. :(

omydarlin · 16/05/2012 21:38

Bad - had a couple of Marks and Spencers mini bites before I left work and have not done exercise

Good - was walking round town and managed to resist lots of lovely foodie places (marksies again!) A bakery that smelt of burnt butter! and the station cafe that reduces its pastries at 3pm. Tomorrow Rhubarb yoghurt and stewed apple with oats for brekkie , bagel/soup for lunch, Pizza and salad for tea trying not to snack and buy random food.

Good luck everyone !
