So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

csws i dont normally eat all my syns but i counted them out for damage limitation reasons! i usually eat bettween 2 and 8.

debka do you know what i think i have a promblem, once i put somthing sweet into my mouth that i had not pre planned and syn'ed i couldnt stop and i was not even hungry and felt sick but kept on eating (1.5lb in 2 days damn those scales). So no surprise im over weight really.

slinky i actually wrote all my over eating food and syns on a shopping list pad and i could see DH looking at it this morning with a puzzled look, then an Ahhh of recognition (poor soul thought it was a shopping list for a recipe, must of thought what the hell is she cooking tonight).

Feeling more myself this morning and back on track definalty and will not succumb to a treat night on saturday as i clearly have no self control. I have already broken one of my aims this week and been o n scales this morning to asses weekend damage, might shred after school run.

well today will be as follows;

B - porridge and banana HA and HB
L - minitrone soup (syn free)
D - either roast chicken salad or might make mini frittatas and have that with salad.

going to try not have snacks if at all possible.

FriendofDorothy · 19/03/2012 08:00

I'm back and ready to go! The scale say I have only put on a couple of pounds which isn't too bad!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/03/2012 08:09

Grin at your list girders. I wouldn't know where to start with mine.
Welcome back dot, that's not a bad gain. Good break?
Hiya slinky how's the new house and wedding plans.

Had a crappy night with DD, she's really wheezy. Luckily I took today as holiday so we can just chill. I've got to do a supermarket run but that's it.
B: raspberries and ff yog
L: poached eggs and beans on hobbit toast (heb)
D: Singapore vermicilli noodles
And I'm going to the sodding gym tonight

debka · 19/03/2012 08:55

cheese I've borrowed my sister's ipod and she had an app on there already. It just tells me when to walk/run etc, no Encouraging Words like on the NHS one, and I play my own (well, my sister's) music behind it, as it were. I actually finished it last night, I am now running for 30 minutes non stop!!

debka · 19/03/2012 08:59

managed to miss that last page Hmm

girders I am just the same, I can see it coming sometimes, I just know I am going to eat until I feel sick. Haven't done it for a while but the potential is always there :) When I feel the urge coming on I try and distract myself or have a coffee or something, I know if I have just one bite of chocolate when I have that urge on I will end up finishing the American Extended Family Sized Chocolate Fudge Cake.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/03/2012 09:07

Oh OK. I'm going to have a look at the app then. Thanks! Well done on 30min running, very impressed.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 19/03/2012 09:51

debka well done on the 30 mins, im on W6 R2 tomorrow and by the end of the week should be running 25mins (barely made the 20 mins last week) are you going to continue to run 30 mins x 3 each week? Thats what i intend to do, if i make it to the end.

cheese hope your DD is feeling better today and you enjoy your day holiday.

Well im off to shred before i have late breakfast.

SpagboLagain · 19/03/2012 09:56

Hello. cheeseandbiscuits told me to pop in here to find out about slimming world. I am 9wks postnatal, 2stone overweight
, and perpetually hungry. Bit of a boredom eater with a cheese and crisps problem. Thinking of trying SW as I heard its fairly easy to follow and you don't get too hungry.

Am also bf so need to eat well. (and the reason I am on the sofa eating cake a lot at the moment).

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/03/2012 10:03

Congrats on your LO. I think you deserve cake at 9 weeks!

SW is quite simple. I do the extra easy plan of the diet. You pick one healthy A every day and one healthy B every day. You will get more as you are BF. healthy A is essentially milk or cheese and healthy b is bread. Then fruit, veg, fat free yog, pasta, rice and potatoes are all free. Lean meat is also free. There is also a list of super foods that you are supposed to have woh every meal, this is essentially fruit and veg.

I've prob confused you now! Have a look online and see what you think. I started at 12 weeks post natal and it worked ok for me. Smile

SpagboLagain · 19/03/2012 10:08

Thanks, will have a look. There's a group which meets up the road, do you do that or just follow online?

Will lurk around here for a bit too! :o

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/03/2012 10:36

I don't go to group, I do it online and weigh in here every weds. Every weds, everyone PMs me their weight loss and I publish it at the end of play. Hence the big fat list....lurk away Smile

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/03/2012 10:38

Welcome spagbol and congrats on new baby Smile. Bf gives you an extra portion of milk/cheese iirc (I am still bf 2 of my dc but I don't have extra allowances as they are older). B choices aren't just bread - you can also have v small portion of some cereals (eg 2 weetabix), some cereal bars (2 Alpen lights eg), and some crisp breads, or things like cooked fruit (only fresh or frozen is free).
meat must be extra lean, not just lean, with all visible fat removed.
I would recommend joining a rl group at least for a few weeks til you have got your head round the plan, then see how you feel.

FriendofDorothy · 19/03/2012 11:49

I would second the suggestion to join a RL group. I am an online member at the moment as there is no group over here, but I miss the interaction and support of a proper group meeting. This thread goes some way to meet the need though but I think a group is very helpful if you are just trying to get your head around it.

pixiestix · 19/03/2012 12:31

Ick. DD and I have both got the lurgy Sad I am coughing so hard I think one of my lungs is going to fly out. I wonder if that would give me a good loss on Weds? Wink Couldn't Shred this morning as too ill so am a bit pissed off.

Welcome Spag and congrats on your LO.

Syn help needed if anyone is on the SW website! Pleeeeease? Grin Tesco Online have gone and replaced my Hobbit bread with Weight Watchers Danish Malted Bread. Apparently its one point per slice which means nothing to me. How catastrophic will it be if I eat it? Given that I have already had two slices

pixiestix · 19/03/2012 12:34

Bloody posted too soon in my miserable coughing stupidity.

A couple of pounds doesnt sound too disastrous Doro, and well worth having a nice holiday for!

Girders don't beat yourself up - we have ALL got that compulsion to eat when we're not hungry, or to eat until we feel sick. But you are here and doing something about it, not letting it take control of your life.

Debka the weirdy tea really is nice, I swear! Grin But then I like stewed prunes too so maybe I shouldnt be trusted.....

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/03/2012 14:08

bread is 2 slices for a heb pix if that helps.

Natznjamesnbubs · 19/03/2012 15:24

feeling guilty about my pig out yest. so today i am being so good.

breakfast 2wholemeal hobbit bread heb and beans. mullerlight and pear and banana.
lunch is chilli and lenil soup and 3ryvita 6syns and extra light philly3syns. mullerlight and apple and some chopped peppers
dinner is quorn chilli con carne with peppers and basmati rice.

let me know if that is ok as still struggling to get my head around it xx

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/03/2012 16:53

natz don't worry about one bad day, you just need to move on. I'd add some salad to your dinner, you need to make sure 50% (I think) of your plate is superfree. One bad day does not make a failure!

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/03/2012 18:21

it's 1/3 of your plate that should be superfree, but yy to adding more with dinner (unless your quorn chilli has a lot of veg in it too).
Actually natz, it looks like you haven't had any meat or fish today, so you could count it as a green day, in which case your ryvita (depending on which ones) might count as a second heB.

Natznjamesnbubs · 19/03/2012 18:56

i have never done red or green yet. it has lots of tomato and peppers and passata in it. so u am allowed a second healthy extra? ive read over it in my book but still trying to get my head round syns and extra easy xx

Huffpot · 19/03/2012 19:54

Evening all and hiya Spag
Bah to the lurgy...my eldest has it and the babby has a stye in his eye so they're bundles of joy!

I dodged all pints of Guiness on Saturday but did overindulge yesterday as its TOTM so the chocolate frenzy took hold but back on track today

I'm very jealous of the 30 minutes running Debka - would love to try that but have dodgy feet and don't think they'd cope with all my weight bouncing about on top of them

:-)

Food today':
B: 3 scan bran with quark and ham and a cuppa
L: didnt make it that far so gobbled a banana
D: prawn stirfry

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/03/2012 21:33

Well I did week one day one of c25k and didn't find it too bad. Then I did a 30min core and tone class. I think I pushed it a bit hardGrin
natz I have no idea about red and green I'm afraid.
huff well done on guinness avoidance. A bit of choc won't do any harm

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/03/2012 21:49

natz - the diff between green and extra easy is basically that you can't eat meat or fish on green, but you get an extra heB and an extra heA.
The diff between red and extra easy is that you can't eat pasta, rice, noodles, potatoes, parsnips, sweetcorn, peas, cous cous, bulgar wheat and similar, but again you get to have 2 heAs and 2 heBs.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/03/2012 07:57

Morning all.

Thread is v quiet at the mo. where are you all?!
I ache a but from the gym but feel better for going. It's another beautiful day here, long walk planned me thinks.
B: fruit and ff yog
L: chicken salad
D: sweet chilli chicken and roasted veg and sweet pots
Snacks: ML yog, alpen lights x2 (HEB)

debka · 20/03/2012 09:10

Morning cheese, well done on your gym trip :)

Haven't heard from bee for a while, hope all is well, if you're lurking.

Woke up with The Hunger this morning, but it's group tonight so I ignored it.

B- bacon, egg, an apple
L- don't know yet, maybe some soup if I have time to make some
D- meatballs in tomato sauce with couscous and a salad
