Ah yes, it's that time again. New list, new decor. Same comfy chairs though Grin

So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

I meant to ask you debka, I found the iPhone app stopped timing when the screen went off. It was really annoying but I will keep plodding along with it. Do you do a run then have a rest day or is it ok to do a couple of days in a row?
I think bee is in the process of moving. I hope all is OK too.

pixiestix · 20/03/2012 10:00

It is quiet, isnt it? It all feels a bit flat without Bee and TSP Sad

Well done on your Hunger avoidance Debs. I can feel myself slipping a bit after the highs of last week, but I'm plodding on.

Thats a bugger about the HEB CSWS as I thought the malted bread didnt count and so synned it and ate a HiFi bar for my B choice. Bloody Tesco substitutions! Another high syn day then, just when I was aiming for a week of 5 syn days. I always seem to be up around the 12-13 mark even when my intentions are good. Blush Must plan more thoroughy and actually stick to it.

Cheese you are a badass with all that exercise!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/03/2012 10:51

Yes, it is. Where's that newbie gone lumpy?

Damn it about the syns pix. Onwards and downwards though...
Grin I'm a bad ass mo'fo

Hedgepig · 20/03/2012 11:26

morning I'm lurking while I'm a work. I thought that about malted bread as well Pix . I keep eating biscuits why, oh why, oh why!

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2012 12:18

Ah sorry pix - I read your post as 'ww brown danish' which is 2 slices for a heB. The malted danish isn't listed as a heB, although tbh I'd have counted it as near enough rather than syn it and eat more stuff! It's 2.5 syns per slice, which is the same as the brown danish (and the white danish), and I can't believe it has significantly less fibre in than that (I would have thought it had more tbh!).

grinningbee · 20/03/2012 13:36

Aloha!

I am here - wrote you all a lovely post this morning and then ds poked the laptop and it went. It's very difficult to get time at the mo as they always turn it off (and are being a bit challenging at the mo!), or Thing is here.

Not much to say though . I've just eaten some brie for lunch Blush. I can post now 'cos they're in their highchairs eating Grin.

I'm having a major house dilemma, but it's going to make me sound like an ungrateful snob. Here goes anyway! I saw it yesterday (again from the outside) and met all the female neighbours. If we take the house there will be 12 children living in the 4 houses. The reason the previous bods left is because of the children. We will have 4 one side, 3 the other and 3 on the far end. One of the dc next door is 9, but mental age of 3 Sad and apparently has shouting outbursts. His mum seems lovely, he was at school so didn't get to say hello to him. Several of the dc are similar ages to mine. I was there an hour yesterday morning talking to them all which was nice.

Now. The house downstairs is no bigger than our current living room. It's a lounge with a kitchen at the back (smaller than ours now) which has a bathroom directly off it. Think standing at the cooker talking to someone in the bath! I'm told the bedrooms are a decent size which is good, but you don't live up there. Also no room for a table downstairs. The garden is big, but not directly behind the house which is odd. I'm told a surveyor has been round some time ago, and there is talk of rejigging the layouts of them. We will need to fence off everywhere and put gates across the communal path too.

So, what we'd get that we don't have here is an extra bedroom, parking at the front of the house, and a bigger garden.

The negatives are slightly less room downstairs, bathroom one side of house, loo on the other in a sort of porch built on the back, no room for a table, could be quite noisy from both sides... and I'll be driving 40 miles a day to take the dc to playgroup some days when they're both going (and stuck if the car packs up!).

I don't know what to do Sad Seeing inside it will hopefully help - maybe this week if we're lucky!

Any thoughts?

Back later hopefully and do a proper catch up.

debka · 20/03/2012 14:03

Blimey bee, sounds like a rock and a hard place to me. The kids all round wouldn't bother me, always someone to play with. But no room for a table would, plus the massive long drive for playgroup, with fuel prices just going up and up, that's tough. What would happen if you said no? Brie eh? Envy

cheese sounds really annoying. Don't know what the one I use is but it doesn't do that. I run 3x a week and have a rest day between each run. I keep thinking about doing consecutive days and trying to up it to 4x or 5x a week but it never gets further that thinking!

Got the proper munchies today, just had 2 weetabix (heb and a) then some chocolate (10 syns). I can't binge today, it would be beyond daft, weigh in is in 5.5 hours!

kid · 20/03/2012 15:55

I'm here lurking, just not posting much.

What a pain about the house Bee, It does sound like a lot of reasons for not accepting it. You really need to consider what the outcome will be if you say no. I think you have to have very good reasons otherwise they will chuck you off the waiting list for a set period of time. Thats what I was told happens here anyway.

I went gym last night and just about survived the class. It is so hard, surely its meant to start getting easier now?

I've been in more pain with my leg lately so I did phone the physio to make an appointment for my referal. But their stupid system means I have to phone to log my referal and then phone again 2 weeks later to actually put on the waiting list. As long as I phone back on Thursday, I should be seen some time in May Angry

Anyway, I am not expecting a big loss for DoD tomorrow. Infact, I'm not entirely sure I'll have lost anything as I didn't do too well at the weekend. I did enjoy everything I ate and drank though so not entirely heartbroken about it. I might be less happy tomorrow after weighing myself though!

Work was hard today, not sure whats going on with the children but lots were having a bad day. Hopefully they will be more settled tomorrow. At least my own DC are being very good for me.

Good luck for tomorrow all.

Hedgepig · 20/03/2012 21:54

Is anyone watching Horizon on obesity? It's really interesting

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2012 22:12

I have it on atm hedge, though am only paying about 50% attention.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2012 22:15

bee that is a real dilemma. I think the children either side shouldn't put you off, as although there are some drawbacks to that, there are some advantages too (playmates, lift sharing to school etc). The lack of room to put a table would bother me more. Could you not even fit in one of those really small ones from Ikea? Where is the garden if not behind the house Confused?

Rianoceros · 20/03/2012 22:19

bookmarking for tomorrow.

SlinkyB · 20/03/2012 22:20

I caught a bit of that Horizon programme; turns out it really isn't our fault if we over-eat, it's all down to our hormones! They have a lot to answer for Wink

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/03/2012 22:30

I didn't see it, will watch it on Iplayer over the weekend - the only perk to DH being on nights is that I get to watch whatever TV I want.

bee - I agree with csws, it's the downstairs table I would be concerned about. How will you all sit down to dinner? I think lots of kids is more of a plus than a neg.

I'm going to post my food for tomorrow now as busyish day. I will prob have to do the list about 6, so if you can PM me by then.
B: fruit and ff yog
L: at the hands of a drug rep, normally some sort of salad option available
D: chilli, rice and salad
Exercise: 30 min w1d2 c25k plus 1 hour gym if humanly possible

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2012 23:03

I love home made chilli cheese. If you tire of having salad with it to get your superfree, may I remind you once again about the benefits of cauliflower rice . I had chilli and cauli rice for my lunch today actually :).

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 21/03/2012 07:08

Morning all!

Bee i agree with the others in that the kids would not bother me as it would be good for my own kids to go out and play, but the lack of dining table would be an issue, could it go in the kitchen?

csws i will take you up on the cauliflower rice recipe if you have it? My issue with salad it not the eating of it, more the prep, so i have taken to making a large bowl of mixed salad all ready in the fridge to add to each meal.

Im in immense pain from the bloody shred i done on monday (the will teach me for squating like Natalie) so legs, thighs and bum muscles are sore. sobs.

today im not entirly sure what im having;

B - SE and either cracker bread HB or beans
L - Pasta n sauce with salad
D - no clue as yet as need to hit the shops.

Might have a run after dropped kids at school as never went yesterday.

grinningbee · 21/03/2012 07:57

Morning lovely ladies!

I agree with you all. The kids are not so much of a problem - my thought was "oh good, it won't matter so much when mine have a bad day" Grin.

It's the table thing that gets me. And it's so silly that it comes down to that. If you've seen the pics on FB, you can see how narrow the kitchen is. The end you can't see is what I need to check myself. If we can somehow fit a table there (but it's the main route to the loo) then I think it'll work.

What was so nice was that having never met me before, everyone came out and spoke, and I even got shown in the one on the end that's just been done up (only downstairs). They're all ever so much younger than me! Like, 15/20 years younger...

The council bods are going into it to check it over this afternoon, then they'll decide what needs doing and when we can look inside.

I really need to get back on the wagon soon. It's amazing how quickly the weight is creeping back on. Not good.

Grin

Happy DoD! Guess who is finally back to their pre-Christmas weight? Grin Blush

Bee my reaction was the same as the others - lots of kids sounds like a plus rather than a negative, but how to fit the table in so you can all have meals together? I can't believe they still haven't let you in for a look. It seems ridiculous that you have to make this decision blind. Can you bear to stay in your two bed flat now though? And won't you be taken off the list if you refuse this one? It seems in a way that you dont have a lot of choice Sad But hopefully when you look inside it will have room you cant see for a table! We have a little 90cm Argos one and its fine to fit four around.

pixiestix · 21/03/2012 08:20

Just had a bit of a nosey on FB and now I have major garden envy! Envy It might not be directly behind the house, but, wow, all that space to run around in and plant in and just potter about. It looks fab!

grinningbee · 21/03/2012 11:20

Hello bouncing Tigger - sorry, Pixie Grin

We're in a bungalow at the mo, and yes, if we turn this one down we get removed from the list for 6 months and then rejoin it at the bottom (can you tell we've asked).

Sorry for the garden envy! It does look nice. The lady next door has chickens, but I'm imagining that with 4 dc she won't have any eggs left over. It'll be down to me to maintain that garden, as Thing has an aversion to that sort of work. It'll do me good though. I can just see a little playhouse in that for the dc.

I think we'll end up taking it. In my mind I'm already working out what'll go where, and knocking the horrible brick hearth off the wall... unless painting it will improve it. Paint colours picked too Grin. And if anyone would like that ceiling fan, do let me know Wink.

My mantra for the next few weeks will be "it'll be fine, it'll be fine".

LumpyLatimer · 21/03/2012 11:24

Hello?

Um. Sorry for being AWOL.

I haven't weighed in this morning owing to having been out on the lash last night and being bloated with PMT Blush Blush

I have been out every night for about 5 nights in a row, so in addition to being knackered my liver is waving a white flag and I have had literally zero opportunity to plan ahead. Please to note I do not normally live such a sociable life and have no idea how everything happened at once

I have however done a HUGE amount of exercise. I have swum 30 length of backstroke in a 33 meter pool almost every morning, and have ditched the bus in favour of walking everywhere - at least 1.5 - 2.5 miles a day. So I THINK I have been keeping the Fat Wolf from the Fat Door but am not sure.

I am out tonight as well. Er, and tomorrow. But then after that I promise and declare and vow faithfully to put down the fork and the bottle and Pull Myself Together.

Now then. Do I get a beating? Should I bend over a chair?

LumpyLatimer · 21/03/2012 11:25

Bee I too have serious garden envy and as a consequence am not speaking to you.

In fact I can't see, hear, or read you OR your posts

grinningbee · 21/03/2012 12:09

Lumpy!! I'm thinking of changing my name as I've been so bad lately. WobblingWalrus seems like a good option.

Sorry for the garden envy again... Can I just retort with social life envy though? Grin Wink

I was up late this morning so didn't weigh in. I know I've gained though so maybe its hood that i overslept.
I will wi tomorrow and confess.

I was really good and wrote out a menu for the week but i didn't stick to it once.

Hedgepig · 21/03/2012 13:36

LOL Kid I do that too

I too have social life envy lumpy

I have had 3 decent-ish nights sleep in a row and feel fab (this is the best DS2 has ever slept in his 3.5 yrs on this planet Grin) long may it continue

Bee i think you will end up taking the house it sounds positive in may ways and if the LOs have decent sized bedrooms then you can stash most of there stuff up there and not clutter downstairs

Food:
D 2 x shredded wheat and fruit
L salad yawn yawn
D sonething with chicken, I'm thinking kebaby things but not sure
