Evening Smile

Wow at your 25 min run Scotland, am very impressed. I tried and failed C25K got to about week 4 I think and it never got any easier Blush
Well done on cake avoidance Bee
Huff "Shall I make us a drink?" might have been my phrase of choice, depending on how gasping I was.
Poor DD Facecrack, it's awful when they get so sore, I reckon metanium is the best bum cream by far, wish I'd discovered it when DS1 was little and had a red raw bum.
Ria you're clearly way overqualified but gutting to be rejected Sad Hope something better comes up v soon.

I'm absolutely knackered; think work, life and nigh on 4 years of broken sleep are catching up on me, wonder if I'll ever get it together to have a few early (ish) nights Hmm

Food today:
BF: Muesli, FF yog, apple
L: Hobbit ham and tomato sandwich, orange, apple
D: Spag bog and salad, strawberries and yog
Snacks: 3 jelly babies (3 syns)
Was planning to go red but not quite sure how it ended up which doesn't bode too well. Didn't weigh pasta (although it was quite a small portion) and had quite a generous portion of bolognese, not sure if I could salvage it as a red or green day.

Have had an unexpected invitation to dinner at SILs tomorrow. Feel quite guilty for my 1st reaction being "Oh no, what will she cook and how can I politely refuse dessert". Was hoping to be a complete control freak food wise tomorrow to cut a bit of slack for meal out planned for sunday. Toyed with the idea of declining invite but DC would love to see their cousins so think I'll just try and offer to bring dessert and make a fruit salad and take a tart or similar for the non SWers if pud offer is accepted.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 21/04/2012 07:09

hedge I'm afraid I would also have hinted for a glass if water in the vain hope it would be changed to tea!

fair hope you and dh enjoyed you anniversary, sounded loverly.

lake good luck at the sil, let's hope its something you can easily syn and good idea about the fruit salad.

Weighed in and lost 2lb, so I'm finaly under 13 (just) so I'm 12st 13 lb, now have 6lb to go to get my 2st off.

FaceCrack · 21/04/2012 07:19

FH&F hope you enjoyed your anniversary night out. The food sounds yummy. I hope you've had a lie in and made the most of a child free house

madeinscotland well done for a fab result. That's brilliant. You are doing so well.

lake any chance you can get a few early nights. Twice a week I try and go to bed stupidly early. It does help me get through the week.

Good luck with cake avoidance this morning bee.

We haven't got much planned this weekend. DH is working and there isn't really anyone around. BORING!
Food:
B: fruit and ff yog
L: chicken and cous cous salad
D: burgers in a whole meal roll (HEB), slimming world chips and salad

Rianoceros · 21/04/2012 12:56

hi all. just caught up and DH is waiting to go out, so better not post (much)

what is speed curry? sounds like it may have repercussions!

thanks for sympathySmile

back later... (If i survive town)

FairhairedandFrustrated · 21/04/2012 13:52

Speed curry is made using speed and super speed foods.
So the sauce is made of 2 tins mushy peas, 2 tins tomatoes, 1 tin beans, 5/6 heaped spoons of curry powder and an onion.

Sauté the onion then add the rest to it, when heated through blend to the consistency of a curry sauce. I always cook meat, peppers etc and add the sauce. The curry is just like chip sho curry!!

Today has got off to a good start :)
B: melon & grapes
L: ham, roast beef, lettuce, tomato red onion egg beetroot potato salad 2.5)
Kiwi plum yog
Not sure what dinner will be!!

kid · 21/04/2012 16:32

I've survive most of the day on sw. Why are weekends so hard?
We went to a kids birthday party where they had lots of lovely food. I stopped at 1/4 of a jam sandwich.
Dh and dc had a bagel on our way home, I resisted and had 6 ryvita crispbread and 3 cheese triangles when I got home. Dh has asked if we're getting a takeaway tonight but I've said no. I don't fancy cooking anything though.

I've been asleep most of the afternoon, that's one way to stop yourself snacking Grin

FriendofDorothy · 21/04/2012 17:12

Does the speed curry taste any good?

FairhairedandFrustrated · 21/04/2012 17:24

It's lovely FOD even my wee ones (7&10) eat it. And it can be frozen.

Still don't know what's for dinner tonight, have spent the last 3 hours on admin..... Am hungry now :)

kid · 21/04/2012 17:36

Speed curry sounds tempting, but does it make you spend hours on the loo? Grin

FriendofDorothy · 21/04/2012 18:12

What sort of beans do you use in it?

MaresyDotes · 21/04/2012 18:21

Oh dear... yesterday was dinner at a friend's, saved my syns all day but when we got there she'd made maple-glazed pork belly. I don't think there are enough syns in the world for that, she hadn't made much veg to go with it as she thought the meat itself would be pretty filling.

And tonight we're visiting my parents who are treating us to a Chinese. At least I get to pick my dishes...

Speed curry sounds lovely! I will have to try that.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 21/04/2012 18:51

Baked beans:) any old kind, we use Tesco beans in curry. Yes, it does make you go - that's the speed bit :)

FriendofDorothy · 21/04/2012 19:08

I've had a pizza tonight. And cake. It was delicious!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 21/04/2012 20:55

How are you feeling FOD?

I've just had the hugest dinner.. Sw chips, a bit of bassa fish, with a huge salad, baby gem lettuce, beets, spring onions, baby toms, yellow peppers, cucumber :)

Dh has made rice pudding for afters as we had too much milk- so have chopped up a nice bit of f salad to go with it.

Had a rich tea biccy earlier 2syns. Will probably have to use some syns as I'll be going over milk allowance with the rice.

How's everyone else been going today??

Rianoceros · 21/04/2012 22:05

Envy of pizza FoD. I have resisted the DC garlic bread on Thursday and their pizza and garlic bread last night.

Just had a glass of wine. I should've gone to bed.

On a good note, DH has been for an unexpected trial shift at his new job, and it went well, so he is all set to start on the 30th, so long as his op goes ok

FriendofDorothy · 21/04/2012 22:10

I feel fine. Quite normal really although still ravenous... all the time!

Rianoceros · 21/04/2012 22:30

Smile FoD

I need some advice from those of you south of the divide please. On Thursday I am to deliver DS1 to school before stupid o'clock, to put him on a coach bound for London (I am sure this will be the only time I mention itWink). He is due an afternoon in Westfield (?) before they leave. Obviously he is male, so not into shopping (except for the sodding birthday cardigan, which I eventually found, in the first place I thought we should have looked, but didn't). Where should he go? Are krispy kreme donuts worth a try? (he does like donuts!) Apparently he is the only kid on the trip who has never been to London before Blush

LakeFlyPie · 21/04/2012 22:31

Evening Smile

Bloody hell, speed curry recipe sounds a bit wrong and very dangerous.
Am tempted to try it as I love mushy peas and curry, but never thought of them complimenting each other.
DP loves chip shop type curry sauce but I would be very reluctant to feed him that combination of ingredients in one dish for fear of the repercussions as Ria so delicately put it Grin
I presume it's a green day recipe?

Scotland Thanks on getting under 13st, I feel that getting into the next st bracket is always a significant milestone.

Facecrack I've been intending to get some early nights for months, probably as long as I've been intending to get back to pre pg weight. TBH think I'd settle for slim and knackered ATM.
DP and I are both night owl types naturally and by the time DC are settled and our evening meal is done, it's either straight to bed or have a bit of 'me / us' time.
DS2 is finally starting to show signs of sleeping more consistently (albeit still ending up in my bed for at least half the night, but that's another thread!) so less broken sleep will help a lot.

Dinner at SIL was a success, roast chicken dinner with loads of veg. She'd declined my offer of dessert but there was a pud option of strawberries and pineapple so I was onto a winner.
In a saintly fashion I declined sticky toffee cake and berry cheesecake Smile

Food today was:
BF: All bran, strawberries, sk milk
L:Red onion + pepper omelette with cottage cheese, orange
D: Roast chicken, potatoes, parsnips, veg, strawbs, pineapple
1 glass red wine
S: Grapes, may have Muller later if munchies strike.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 21/04/2012 22:46

Yes, I follow ee but it's free on green too :)

And the wind I have is terrible, but if I get a good loss it'll be worth it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/04/2012 23:55

I might have to try that curry sauce if only to satisfy my curiosity!

I went clothes shopping today, as needed to get something for a job interview on monday. Managed to buy some dresses from Jaeger (outlet shop, not full price!) in an 18, which was pleasing (even if I did need a 20 in some of the other shops).

Food today:
B banana, broccoli, cheese, pasta twists.
L crab and rice noodle salad (6 syns - eek - I knew there were some in the fresh rice noodles but didn't realise there were that many!)
D chicken + tarragon casserole with cauliflower rice
Just going to have an apple before bed.

FaceCrack · 22/04/2012 07:22

Urgh fell off the wagon big time last night. Wine, takeaway and choc. Back on the wagon today. TodayI've got to go clothes shopping for a big night out next Friday. God knows what I am going to wear!
Well done on size 18 csws? What did you get?

Food:
B: fruit, yoghurt. Bit of scrambled egg prob
L: chicken salad
D: lamb and spinach curry with rice

Have a good Sunday everyone. I've got to get DD organised for swimming now.

Huffpot · 22/04/2012 10:02

Oh Face I stumbled and fell off the wagon yesterday too. My mother in law is driving me a bit insane again. She's been moaning to DP again and this time its that she thinks my eldesr is underweight. For goodness sake he's tall for his age and isn't a chunky build but is perfect
If he was chunky then she'd be on about him being too fat
Aghhhhhhh!

I feel like such a bad person to wish her to hurry up and shuffle off this mortal coil but what else can I do?!??

So am clambering back on the wagon. Am also seeing how my anorexic 2.5 year old goes so wearing undies today so that should keep me busy!

I think I'll attempt that curry Fair. I need to get things moving with this weight

B:Porridge and a banana
L: Thinking about making cheese and onion pie but we'll see how we go re puddles
D: Up in the air but maybe SW fish and chips or pork chops

grinningbee · 22/04/2012 12:59

Howdy do everyone!

FHF That curry sounds waaaaay more dangerous than even lentil pie. I'd be too scared to eat it Grin

Face Don't worry about it. It was only 1 day, and not 6 weeks Wink.

Ria Yay for your DH and the job prospects. Fingers mucho crossed for you.

It's an "interesting" day. Thing has stormed out to "sort out" a customer who left a less than pleasant voicemail. Could be rather interesting later if he does what I suspect. I'm waiting for him to come home and have a knot in my chest.

Food for the day:

Brunch - Omelette with red onion, peppers and chilli
Dinner - Sweet chilli chicken with loads of roasted veggies

I'll fit the healthy extras in later.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 22/04/2012 13:18

I feel like such a bloater this morning. I'm still in my jammies cos no jeans I own fit me, apart from the pair that's ripped around the bottoms and are dubbed my 'fat' jeans :(

I ate heaps yesterday, very few syns though and I feel huge today.

The kids had huge bowls of sugar puffs and toasted pancakes with choc spread for brekkie, dh had toasted soda bread with butter & jam followed by a galaxy crumble thing - I had a bowl of fruit salad, (grapes, strawbs, kiwi, pineapple' orange) topped with a muller light and followed by a pink lady apple.

I know I need to pull back syns from fri night, but I feel so out of my own comfort zone at the minute, my confidence is at rock bottom today. I know 100% this plan works and I'm trying do hard to stay positive.
I had been feeling better earlier in the week, I can't put my finger on what's happened me now.

Sorry for the self indulgent moan.
