Ah yes, it's that time again. New list, new decor. Same comfy chairs though Grin

So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

So what is happening with your house Bee? Are you back in the old place again? Where is all your stuff? The bit of info I have garnered from your FB updates sounds like the stuff of nightmares.

Huffpot · 18/04/2012 16:35

Just popping my head in to say a huuuuge welcome back to Bee
Have missed you!

For some reason am dreading WI tonight although I really have been good this week sigh

grinningbee · 18/04/2012 16:54
Grin

It's nice to be back Thanks

Ria Sounds like you need to snuggle up in front of a fire and have a kip. The weather is miserable I agree.

Huffpot Big hugs - how's you?

Pixie Ahh... the house. We're still in the bungalow, and will be for at least another month. Quite a bit of our stuff is packed in banana boxes and is stacked in our bedroom! We were supposed to move the weekend just gone. The house has.... problems, shall we say! The good news is that the village grapevine reported 2 large white vans outside it yesterday, so it looks as if work has started. I'm surprised I have any sanity left after the last couple of weeks.

I also heard this morning that the one in the village we're in that we wanted is still empty. Grrrrrr!

I am soooooo hungry. Might have to go and scoff another yogurt.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 18/04/2012 17:13

Hello! Bee, hope things move nicely on the house move.

Am heading to WI shortly, stomach in knots. Have aw chips, low sun sausages, beans for dinner followed by a massive fruit salad dh is going to have ready for me..... Well, hopefully he will!!

A bit nervy about tonight, dunno why, I know I had a huge appetite all week, I also know I fed it pretty well with Superfree foods. Will leave house after half 5 to be there about 5.45!! Time to get weighed and grab a cuppa!!

I might send stats for list if I'm brave :)

kid · 18/04/2012 17:49

Battery very low on laptop so no time to share recipe right now, but am happy to report that the falafels were gorgeous. Actually, I am quite shocked that I made them Grin
They were a tiny bit dry but at least they weren't dripping in fat. I just had some cottage cheese with them and that solved the problem.
I'm quite tempted to get the other batch I made out of the freezer so I can eat them too but I'll save them for another day.

Couscous, peppers and some other veg for dinner tonight.

Chocolategirl3 · 18/04/2012 19:56

So the old cycle is not broken and my body did what it used to do after my star week ! :(

Next week will be a good week.

kid · 18/04/2012 20:41

Sorry to hear you are disappointed with your sts, but if you body is following its old tricks, you know you're in for a loss next week.

I've been busy in the kitchen tonight. I've made 1/2 roulade and also these chocolate mousse things. I'm not a huge fan of quark but they both have that in so we'll see what the verdict is a bit later.

For dinner, I ended up making spinach and ricotta pasta. LOVELY, LOVELY, LOVELY meal. I added some chicken for DH and DC and they seemed happy with that. I must share some of these recipes soon but they are in the kitchen and I'm not and I'm being lazy at the moment. I'll move soon, promise.

I added up my syns that I've had today. Its so easy to see how those extra syns creep into the day.

At work, I had 1 cookie (because it was looking at me) which was 2.5 syns. My lunch was 3 syns which I knew about beforehand which was fine (total now 5.5). Then, when I got in I had a choc hobnob 4.5 syns (so not worth all those syns) so that brings my total to 10 syns. I'm still within range but to think my planned menu only had 3 syns. I need to stop picking at food!

Tomorrow will be hard as I have a meeting at DDs school and also a gym class booked. Not sure I'll make the gym but I'll try my best.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 18/04/2012 21:43

I agree re: chocolate hobnob, far too many syns.

I PM'd you my stats facecrack.

Enjoyed group tonight, I took dd (10) with me - she was far better behaved than half the adults lol, I wanted to shush the biddy behind me more times than enough Grin

Am for bed soon, though laptop shall accompany me so will hang about for list update :)

Huffpot · 18/04/2012 21:48

Choc mousse sounds delish!

Also waiting for list :-)

FaceCrack · 18/04/2012 21:53

Just going to see who is fired on the apprentice. Then I'll do it Smile.

LakeFlyPie · 18/04/2012 22:05

Evening Smile

Thanks CSWS for the yog syn info, will happily tuck into my peach and passionfruity yog snack now.
kid you're sounding supremely organised with the food planning and syn counting, vair impressive. I'm joining the queue for the recipes (falafel and choc mousse please)
ria hope you've warmed up, I'm knackered too, DS2 had a very restless night (I blame teeth as usual) and 4 hours sleep is not enough for me!
FHF the natterers in group used to drive me insane, I always felt on the edge of shouting "FFS shut up you rude fuckers people"
chocolate am sure you'll be on for your stone and more badge next week.
Bee is there no way of chasing up the house in your village?

Right, food today:

BF: All bran, banana, sk milk
L: was at work buffet but manage to get away quite lightly with mayo free 'coleslaw', mayo free potato and olive salad (think the caterer might have been a SWer!), cous cous and slice of ham and managed to avoid the delicious looking bakewell tart and homemade biscuits and have pineapple and melon instead
D: JP, beans and cheese, orange
S: Apple, leftover potatoes and butternut (instead of the hot cross buns which were calling )
Might have a yog before bed if still feeling peckish later.

BTW were TSP and Lumpy one and the same and if not where are they both??

Rianoceros · 18/04/2012 22:25

thanks for list cheese

I suppose I should have been a new starter too, given I am heavier now than when I first joined the threadBlush, but no matter. Next week I would like to be posting a loss and then a loss to date which is bigger than my loss for the week (IYSWIM)

I did have a little snooze beeBlush. Luckily I asked DH if he would do the kids tea, before he annouced that he was just going for a lie down (lazy bastard he is struggling with pain management ATM) but the meany woke me up to give DS1 and his friend a lift back to school as they were helping backstage with the school production. Also went to supermarket and spent a silly amount of money on Not Very Much Food.

lakepie -have PM'ed youSmile

well done losers and STS-ers.

muttering irritates me too. was recently at a school thing - assembly I think - and the parents behaved worse than the 4 year olds who don't usually even attend assembly, so don't know how they are meant to behave!

kid · 18/04/2012 22:34

While the right list is sorted, I'll add the recipes here:

Middle Eastern Falafels
Serves 4, can freeze and suitable for vegetarians
ready in about 30 minutes plus 6-8 hours chilling time

Ingredients
breadcrumbs from 2 slices of small wholemeal loaf
2x 400g chickpeas, drained and rinsed
3 spring onions, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
113g peppadew peppers in brine, drained and roughly chopped - I couldn't find these so just used a red pepper!
1tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 egg, beaten
large handful fresh dill, finely chopped - I didn't have any so left this out
salt and pepper
2 plum tomatoes, deseeded and very finely cubed (I chopped up some cherry toms)
1 red onion, very finely cubed
1/2 cucumber, very finely cubed
juice of 1/2 lemon
fry light
coriander sprigs, to garnish
4 x wholemeal pitta breads, toasted and halved
lime wedges to serve

  1. Put the breadcrumbs, chickpeas, spring onions, garlic, pepperdew peppers, cumin, cinnamon, egg and dill in food processor and blend until fairly smooth. Put in a bowl, season and mix well.
Cover and chill for 6-8 hours (I left mine closer to 24 hours)
  1. Make the salad by mixing together the tomatoes, red onion, cucumber and lemon juice. Season to taste, cover and chill until ready to serve.
  1. Divide the chickpea mixture into 8 portions and shape each into a burger. Spray a large griddle pan (I used a frying pan) with fry light and place over a medium-high heat. Working in 2 batches, cook the burgers for 2-3 minutes on each side, until cooked through (I'm sure mine took longer) Carefully transfer them to a plate and allow to stand for 10 minutes to firm up.
  1. Garnish with springs of coriander and serve with the toasted pittas, salad and lime wedges.
kid · 18/04/2012 22:35

oops, was meant to underline not cross out!

Rianoceros · 18/04/2012 22:42

I may try those kid (is that the recipe out of the mag?). I made something similar years ago when I first started SW pre DC3 and much thinner--and they were nice. was also tempted by the veggie-type burgers in the mag, but I don't think DH would go for them. (miserable git complains enough about my cooking, but doesn't offer to do it instead, and it's nothing to him as a pro)

kid · 18/04/2012 22:43

The chocolate mouse things aren't all that nice.
But, maybe you'll like them? I'm thinking I didn't mix them properly or maybe I should have used electic whisk to get air in to them?

Anyway, heres the recipe:

Serves 4
prep time: 10 minutes plus chilling
0.5 syns on all days
Not suitable for freezing.

100g pot of quark
500g pot fat free natural fromage frais
1 tbsp artificial sweetener
1 sachet Cadbury Highlights
Ground cinnamon and cinnamon sticks to decorate

  1. Place the quark in a bowl with 400g fromage frais, the sweetener and Cadbury Highlights. Mix well, divide between four glasses and chill until needed.
  1. Top each mousse with a spoonful of fromage frais and a dusting of ground cinnamon. Serve decorated with cinnamon sticks if you like.
Chocolategirl3 · 18/04/2012 23:03

Well done on all thse wonderful losses for the week!!! looking at some of your total weight losses is a huge inspiration.

Dinner tonight was

Turkey breast stir fry cooked in fry light, drained then added tomato puree, chopped red onions, peppers, courgettes and small tin of beans to the mix, served with mangetout and baked potato and 1 tablespoon of salad cream 70% fat free = 1 syn

Glass of milk was my hea

Was very tasty and have enough for lunch tomorrow hmmmmmm

kid · 18/04/2012 23:23

Ria, it is a recipe out of a magazine but I don't know how old it is. The recipe is 1.5 syns on green or ee so it can't be that old for it to have mentioned ee.
Forgot to add that you have to add 6 syns if not using pitta bread as HEb. Not sure where the bread crumbs come into it. Maybe thats where the 1.5 syns come into it?

kid · 18/04/2012 23:28

Great losses, well done.

Can I ask how people decide on a target weight? Those tables are rubbish, really unrealistic weight for me to ever achieve.
I'd love to be a size 10-12, haven't been that for such a long time.

I am currently a size 14, some are loose, some are snug but I'm not a 12 and I'm not a 16.

I do think that as my heart is in SW at the moment, I may as well have a weight in mind. I'm only 5ft 1 btw

LakeFlyPie · 18/04/2012 23:32

Thanks for the recipe kid, will give those a go Smile

Thanks for the list Facecrack, congratulations on the 2 stone loss ThanksWine
When you have a second could you Facecrack me please?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/04/2012 00:00

Well done everyone - lovely big list tonight :).

Food for today:
B wholewheat penne, broccoli, cheese (HEa)
snack banana
L bacon lentil & orzo soup, pear, melon
D roast gammon, roast baby spuds, sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower
snacks: peanut hifi (HEb), graze box 'cheddar gorge' - 7 syns

brafullofcrumbs · 19/04/2012 06:59

Kid - I knew before starting that I wanted to be 10.7 as that was my weight way back when I was slimmest. It was ambitious but I felt (and still feel) that I needed a serious challenge, not just a half effort. My target puts me about 3/4of the way up within the healthy weight range for my height. I did discuss recently changing my target to 10st at which my friend who I consider to be really slim, albeit taller than me, said "then you'll weigh less than me" :o My rationale for changing it was that with the 3lb allowed fluctuation I would be between 10.4 and 10.10 and I thought I'd always like to be below 10.7 so I will probably change it to 10.4 so my target is between 10.1 and 10.7.
Does losing a stone equate to a dress size for you? It does for me at 5'6"
