Ah yes, it's that time again. New list, new decor. Same comfy chairs though Grin

So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

I haven't failed yet, but am cold, worn out from work, and tired from waking up every 10 mins last night fretting about my essay/having nightmares.

How does quorn fit in to EE? I ended up having my quorn chilli and some rice when I got in from work, but still intend to have steak and veg later. DS3 stole my second alpen bar too, I'm not sure if have any more, so it looks like I'm only getting half a HEB.

Also, does anyone know the syns for a 500ml bottle of Hobgoblin ruby beer? (not that I have any, but it's yummy amd it would be handy to know the damage for future reference).

Chocolategirl3 · 16/04/2012 20:01

Mmmcoffee step away from the avocados!!! 9.5 syns each thats nearly 4 Bacardi's!!

FaceCrack · 16/04/2012 20:04

Quorn mince is free ria. I looked up the beer and it's not there. Is it ale or lager? I love quorn mince chilli!

Just been for a run. I'm proud as I've had a crap day with dd and could have easily stayed slumped on the sofa. Off for my stirfry now!

kid · 16/04/2012 20:29

Are haricot beans free on SW?
I think they are but I need to check before I go wasting loads of syns by accident.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 16/04/2012 20:52

Yes Haricot beans are free, (not superfree though) and they're a speed food :)

Food yesterday was a bit Hmm

We went a drive and ended up further than we had intended, so instead of going home for the slow roast joint we had cooking, we went into a favourite hotel for dinner.

I had steak, side of veg and spuds, but there was butter in the spuds and even though the steak was on menu as being grilled, I know it tasted fries/hot plate or something. Had no dessert, but had an ice-cream cone Blush

Have only had 2 syns so far today so between now and weigh in it should be fine. Will chart 2 days eating now:

Sunday: Breakfast; mandarin, banana and muller light
snack: green apple
dinner: Steak, veg potatoes (syns for butter), onions and mushrooms (probably syns for oil it was cooked in too even though it said grilled)
HEA: milk
HEB: 2 hifi lights
snacks: sliced roast beef, muller light, 2 mandarins and an apple
---------------
Monday
B: kiwi & strawberries chopped
snack: plum, apple, satsuma
Lunch: ham salad with green, red peppers, loads of beetroot, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, cheese, (HEa) red onions followed by a bunch of grapes, 2 more kiwis and a plum.
Afternoon snack: mullerlight with more grapes, a kiwi and a plum
worked until about 8pm... dinner was yesterday's roast beef, broc, cauli, carrots, potatoes, sw roasties.

And yes readers.... I will have my HEB before bed of 2 hifi lights and a coffee. HEA was cheese on salad so will count my 2 coffees today as syns (milk)

I had a pure shit day at work... someone further up said about colleagues who don't pull their weight, I wonder if you work in the same office as me! It's a bloody minefield on a Monday!

kid · 16/04/2012 21:14

Its so frustrating when people seem to get away with being lazy at work Angry They are paid to do a job so get on and do it. They aren't doing anyone a favour just by turning up, they do actually have to do their work.

Can I be really thick and ask for a brief explanation of whats the difference between super free and speed foods?

I guess either of those, or both, would speed up weight loss which sounds good to me.

I WI this morning after a while off plan. I am still over a stone lighter than when I started SW so I can't complain too much. I'll still join DoD but it will be from todays weight so just 2 days to get a loss. I know I'll never make top of the list but a loss would be nice.

Are satsumas speed food? I've had 5 so far today. I just realised I still have another alpen light as my other half of the HEb, yummy.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 16/04/2012 22:02

Superfree are most fruit and veg. If you have a book they're the foods on the orange pages,

Speed foods keep you fuller for longer, they're low in energy density.

If you reach for Superfree before free foods it will help your loss, as well as increase your speed foods - you'll also find some Superfree are speed too :)

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/04/2012 22:28

Food for today (green day):
B wholewheat pasta twists, broccoli, cheese (yes I know my breakfasts just get weirder and weirder!), strawberries
snack: pear (though the boys took most of it!)
L risotto pronto, few peas, bit more broccoli, banana
D chips, courgette + cheese omelette, beans, mushrooms
snack: toast (HEb), butter (syns)
other snacks: nibble of dd's choc, teaspoon of new dairy free ice cream, couple of hazelnuts and dried cranberries
Also burned 721 cals in the gym this afternoon.

kid · 16/04/2012 22:35

What time do you eat breakfast CSWS?
I have to eat my breakfast around 6:45 and there is no way I could manage brocolli and cheese and that time!

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/04/2012 23:07

I could manage it any time (it's not like I'm waking from a long sleep because my night's are so disturbed!), but today it was about 8:15.

LakeFlyPie · 16/04/2012 23:07

Evening Smile

Well Day 1 was surprisingly OK, have had cast iron will power today, am hoping it'll last until I'm slipping into my size 10 summer gear.
Today I have sneered in the face of juicy hot cross buns, DP's chips and stuck 2 fingers up at DSs' remaining Easter eggs just now Grin

Well done on biscuit avoidance kid; on running facecrack and on getting through a long day on poor sleep ria
FHF I'd forgotten all about Hifi bars, I quite liked those when I attended RL group in an almost previous life. Any recommendations for a RL alternative?
Evening munchies are what get me, the answer is probably to go to bed thus solving my other problem, that of chronic sleep deprivation.
Might try the frozen grape tip, thanks chocolate
CSWS what do you do at the gym that burns so many calories? I think my half hour swim burns less than 1/3 of what you often report and I'm pretty knackered after that.

Food today ended up being (green):
BF: All bran, banana, sk milk
L:Courgette soup, 1 hobbit toast + cheese, apple
D:Chicken, cous cous, salad, plum
Snack: Grapes

Taking DS1 to see production of The Gruffalo tomorrow so need to plan ahead to avoid ending up with SW unfriendly lunch situation. Will either take packed lunch or fruit for me and get some pizza / treat for him.
May go red, think food will look something like:

BF: Muesli, yog, apple
L: TBC (possibly hobbit ham + salad sandwiches)
D: Ratatouille + fish

Have shopped and stocked up on superfree stuff so feel I have options Smile

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/04/2012 23:42

Gym consists of roughly (because I'll add bits here and there depending on how much time I have) 10 mins on cross trainer, 1000-1200m row, 12 mins on treadmill (4 running, 8 walking on increasing incline), 10 mins on reclining bike, then 15-20 mins on wave machine. Then a 0.4-0.5 km swim.

FaceCrack · 17/04/2012 07:21

cswsThat's a good gym session, well done. You must be shattered by the end. And broccoli for breakfast? Insane! Are you getting anymore sleep these days?

lake well done on fish finger avoidance and hot cross bun refusal. It's so bladdy hard when there is nice food in the house. I caved and had another tim tam last night.

Head up though: myfitnesspal overestimates calories burnt quite a way with certain exercises, i think it's walking and some of the others.

Dd seems a bit better today, 12 hours with out d&v so hopefully we are on a turn. Weather is rubbish, what to do today?

B: fruit and ff yog
L: chicken and cous cous salad
D: sweet chilli chicken and roasted veg
HEA: milk in tea and coffee HEB: 2 alpen light bars

Better go, DD is slowly dissecting the contents of the changing bag. Grin

grinningbee · 17/04/2012 10:20

Hello everyone!

Thought I'd better come back. The weight has been going back on at an alarming rate, which is hardly surprising when you've eaten almost a whole tin of celebrations and quality street amongst other naughty stuff.

I've been a bit stressed Grin Turns out that it makes me want to eat. Lots.

Anyway, lots of reading back to do as I've been away a while, and not weighed in for 6 weeks. I will weigh in tomorrow. It won't be good Blush. And I'm not bloody putting how much I gained, but those of you with spreadsheets will be able to work it out easily enough Wink

Hello to all the lovely new bods! I look forward to catching up with you all and finding out how you're all doing.

I've missed you

pixiestix · 17/04/2012 10:24

Hello all.

Thanks for remembering my appointment last week Ria and Cheese. It was completely useless and I don?t think anything will come of it. The doc gave me a list of places to phone and people to see (for blood tests, CBT, mums groups etc) but I just haven?t got the spirit to chase it all. I don?t know if it was supposed to be motivational, but to my mind, giving someone who tells you that they are exhausted and overwhelmed a big bloody list of tasks to do is just ridiculous Confused I?m supposed to go back in two weeks having completed them all, but the way I feel today I?m not going to bother Sad

As I could have predicted, black dog + Easter = half a stone gain in two weeks Blush So I am back on plan this week and hoping, probably foolishly, for at least a four pound loss. I?m so sick of myself and the way I can?t seem to get to grips with NOT being a fat pig. As soon as I get a decent loss going I sabotage it all away. Angry

Sorry for the me, me, me post. Your talk of speed foods and such is inspiring me muchly. Hope we have a good list this week.

pixiestix · 17/04/2012 10:25

So, so good to have you back buddy.

FaceCrack · 17/04/2012 10:29

pixie your GP has given you some sound advice. However, you don't need to feel like you need to do it all. Pick one thing to aim at every few days; for example, is there a mums group you can go to tomorrow? CBT is fab for these things. It's about small steps, don't set yourself huge aims but achievable little ones. How's T?

bee don't worry we won't do the maths with regards to your gain. It's understandable really. When are you aiming to restart?

brafullofcrumbs · 17/04/2012 13:05

Pixie hang in there and take small steps one at a time
Hello bee welcome back (to your group which I have only recently joined Hmm)
Well I have RL group tonight - not looking forward to it, I was really good over Easter but had a bit of a weekend off this weekend with my Mum and Dad visiting us. Here's hoping being super good yesterday and today will help negate any naughtiness from the weekend [crosses fingers and looks for some lightweight cl

brafullofcrumbs · 17/04/2012 13:06

...lightweight clothing for tonight]
don't know what happened there, it posted for me!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 17/04/2012 13:07

Pixie, I wish my doctor had suggested something like yours instead of prescribing antids. They leave me all fuzzy and fat but I have made a concentrated effort this week to try and snack on Superfree foods where possible, limiting my syns (apart on sat and sun when out).

I feel much better in myself, have to go to group tonight do will slap the makeup on and smile!!

Food do far today
B: banana and grapefruit
Snacks: kiwi, melon, banana
Lunch is ready now: ham salad, lettuce, eggs,, beets, tomato, pickled onions, cucumber, banana (dh always laughs at this but my mum always put banana on a salad) followed by melon.

Rianoceros · 17/04/2012 13:31

submitted by essay within half 40 mins of deadline, leaving me just over 10 mins to each SW brunch (that DH grudging cooked) and get dressed for work. kid and FH&F do your --idle- colleagues disappear to another job between 12 & 1, because I think I work with them too! (a huddle of 4 having a chat today while I was whizzing round like a mad thingHmm)

pixie. try and go back in 2 weeks, even if just to say you couldn't fce the task you were given. don't give up.

the hobgoblin is Whychwood ale facecrack, thanks for looking it up.

must go, college work to do for tonight...

FaceCrack · 17/04/2012 13:42

Well done ria on the essay.500 mls of strong ale is 9.5syns, would that be similar do you think?

FaceCrack · 17/04/2012 13:43

Good luck with weigh in bra. I used to go in flip flops tshirt and leggings - and would always try and have a big poo before Smile

Hope group goes ok f&f. Are you leading, weighing in or both? Banana salad?

pixiestix · 17/04/2012 14:08

Noooo, you're not supposed to say that. You're supposed to say God, how awful of them. They sound horrendous. They should have prescribed you gin and chocolate and waved a magic wand so that you felt immediately better without having to put any work or effort in. The bastards. Grin

Ok, ok. I will seriously think about the next step forward. You slave drivers.

Great name FaceCrack. Wink I knew it was you immediately - you are the only person I know who says that!

Bra - I do the lightweight clothes thing too Blush Summer dress in the middle of winter, anyone? And I find myself declining cups of tea three hours before a weigh in just in case. Ridiculous really.

pixiestix · 17/04/2012 14:10

Oh and well done Ria! Smile I would have hidden under the duvet if it were me. Mega respect!
