Ah yes, it's that time again. New list, new decor. Same comfy chairs though Grin

So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

In that case I was up at the crack of dawn too Kid Wink I had a hair appointment @9am!

Am all blonde again now :)

Today has been a funny old day so far, breakfast was ate in the car on the way to hair appt, so was an apple, a mandarin & a kiwi.

Snacking before I got home was a kiwi

Have just had lunch of wholemeal bap (60g heB), HP sauce (1.5syns) with lean bacon and two hard boiled eggs mashed in. Have fruit salad for afters.

I've a birthday party to go to tonight and I so don't want to go. Nothing to do with food stuff, just really can't face people at the minute.

and I have nothing to wear

Ria you did great to have your own stuff whilst others around you ate crisps and chocolate, that's really difficult to do!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 14/04/2012 13:46

Hey Huffpot, good woman on the scone! They're just not worth it Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/04/2012 14:19

You might enjoy it when you get there fair. How's the hair?
I'm not having a good day diet wise. Egg and bacon roll for breakfast, fine. 2 x tim tams that mum brought back from Oz, not fine. Dinner tonight is SW lamb rogan josh so hopefully I won't have strayed too far.

Have a good weekend all!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/04/2012 14:20

Oh forgot to say hi to chocolate. Good luck on 1 stone sticker this week.
Good scone avoidance huff.

Waves to Ria and kid and anyone else out there!

Huffpot · 14/04/2012 16:11

Love having the hair done Fair - always cheers me up!

Mmmm tim tams....the mint ones are good - I think penguins are a pretty good comparison
My fave is the peppermint fondant(bright fluro green)cadburys chocolate from home(Oz). I bet my parents won't think and will bring me a bar....

Can you set yourself a mental limit to survive the party for Fair ie that you can leave it after 2 hours if you're really hating it then you've done your duty? Hopefully it won't be too bad!

Hedgepig · 14/04/2012 19:24

Ive never had a Tim tam , probably best that I don't start Grin given my current biscuit obsession

Huffpot · 14/04/2012 20:56

Timtam slammers are the bomb!
You bit off 2 diagonal corners, put one bitten off corner in a hot cuppa and suck until you feel the whole biscuit start to dissolve under your fingers and shove the whole gooey chocolatey mess into your gob and enjoy!!!!

kid · 14/04/2012 22:35

I've not had a timtam (never heard of them tbh) but I have eaten many chocolate bars in the way you describe huff The only problem is, the chocolate is gone too quickly so you want another one.

Tomorrow is my last day off work, do I really have to go back to work? I quite like the idea of sending the kids off to school and then returning home to peace and quiet. I did suggest to work that I should get my own holiday after my DC return to school but for some reason, they didn't seem too keen. Oh well, suppose I'll just have to make the most of my last day off.
How long is it till half term? Grin Actually, I do love my job so after the initial shock of getting up so early wears off, I'll be fine.

Rianoceros · 14/04/2012 22:45

that sounds best avoided TBH huffpot! (I have a weirdy aversion to dunking things in tea). Well done on scone avoidance.

how did it go FH&F? did you go I hate going out, and usually get myself into such a state beforehand frettingSad yay for hairdo. I am thinking about doing something with mine, as a quick glance in the mirror the other morning presented a insipid mishmash of Lisa and Mandy Dingle!

8amShock I had the longest lie-in of the holidays this morning. (and very nice it was too, as we've been out and about/manic cleaning so much, I am knackered, I have achey back/hips, and the last couple of nights I've had awful nightmares when I have been asleep)

I've had a bad food day today, but I am not stressing. I am planned for tomorrow, and DH is talking of a walk if it's fine (though I have a hideous essay to write, so I'm not sure). I do like being on-plan (when there aren't obstacles to overcome that is!)

are a couple of you ladies from Oz? do you believe in the "eating vegemite stops you getting insect bites" myth?

sorry for rambling - lonely day with textbooks!

Rianoceros · 14/04/2012 22:47

I don't want to go back to school either kid. or college I have n application form for a "proper" job lurking in my inbox too but am scared

LakeFlyPie · 14/04/2012 22:53

Um, hallo Blush

I'll make my confession brief; fell off previous thread and don't think I even made it onto this one (haven't trawled back through your impressive 25 pages). Fell off both thread and wagon and haven't weighed in, but can say with confidence I'm back to square one if not beyond Blush

I must admit to a peek at the low carb bootcamp thread but saw sense at the prospect of no fruit Shock.
I know SW works, is relatively easy to follow when you're in the right frame of mind and you're never hungry, so why oh why do I keep falling off the wagon?

Anyway, monday morning is D day and back on plan, with friend's wedding (1st June) being 1st target and then family holiday with super slim SIL (mid July) being 2nd target to spur me on.

It's inspiring to see the old (and obviously slimmer) faces and so many new ones, I had a peek back to last couple of DODs and as always some amazing losses.

So, hope I can sneak back in without being barred for multiple lapses.
Food diary to start monday morning and back on thread (without a single lapse) until I hit target.

Blush
kid · 14/04/2012 23:13

Lake, did you notice when looking at the last few DoD that I failed to WI Blush
I too have a new menu planned for Monday and beyond so we can keep eachother on track if you like?

I haven't WI but I know I haven't gained much weight, probably the odd lb or 2 but my clothes are pretty much the same as they were before I helped the kids eat their easter eggs.

I haven't managed to go gym recently either but I have been decorating so thats my exercise for now. I hate decorating and am amazed that I keep getting roped into it. I have so much painting to do, but I don't have the incentive to actually do it. Maybe once I get a date for the carpets being fitted, which is likely to be next weekend, then I'll have to get a move on with it. Its ok, I just have 6 doors and all the skirting boards upstairs and a banister/ 26 or so spindles to paint. It won't take me that long, will it?

FairhairedandFrustrated · 15/04/2012 01:06

Went to party at 7pm and in bed now.

Was ok, not great, but bearable.

Food ok'ish if I don't have any syns tomorrow. Had cake (small piece) and some lasagne which wasn't sw!!

No alcohol. Sister isn't happy with me as we left early (the 'normal' me would have been there til the last).

Never tasted timtams either, they nice??

Rianoceros · 15/04/2012 11:53

sisters are very hard to please at times FH&F, glad you went and survive. Hope you have a good day to yourself today.

kid - I am hoping to decorate DS1s room when he goes on his school trip. I hate decorating too, and have stupidly invited people round on the last day of his trip.

welcome back lakefly. I have to confess to being over a stone heavier than when I joined this thread, due to one thing and another. I am now at my heaviest and don't want to be here again (but it is my own fault).

have a lovely sundaySmile

Mmmcoffee · 15/04/2012 13:24

I start at SW on Thursday, is this the sort-of-official SW thread?

(you all sound sort-of-normal which is a good start Grin)

Huffpot · 15/04/2012 13:48

I'm from Oz - been in the UK for 4 years this year after taking a year off my job in Oz! The twists and turns of life

Tim tams are nice but I think over rated.

Glad you survived Fair
I have 3 sisters and I can't please any of them!

Welcome Mmmcoffee
This is a lovely thread if I do say so myself :)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/04/2012 17:57

Hi mmmcoffee welcome. You've found the right thread. Any questions just ask!

I've had a good day mostly due to having a dodgy tum. I'm feeling a bit better now so dinner will be SW pesto pasta. Dd still poorly though!

Well done for going out fair, I am one of 3 sisters. We love each other dearly but are prone to snap at each other sometimes.

huff I forgot you were an Aussie. I also think tim tams are overrated, give me a penguin any day.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/04/2012 17:58

Aah lake we've missed ya! Welcome back. Weighing in on Weds? Real life has a horrible habit of getting in the way, don't beat yourself up about it. Same to you ria, you are now regaining control of your weight, that's the main thing.

FaceCrack · 15/04/2012 20:31

Hi everyone.

Recognise me?

Rianoceros · 15/04/2012 20:37

erm, no. Sorry. ????

FaceCrack · 15/04/2012 20:52

I am te Marjorie Daws of the thread!

kid · 15/04/2012 21:19

I've planned my meals for the week but its getting late and I have to make lunch for tomorrow. I'm going to hate being back at work but at least its going to keep my mind (and fingers) off eating all the time.

At least tomorrows lunch is quick and easy.

B: 2 weetabix (b), milk (a), banana
L: cheesy onion and potato bake (cheese = HEa)
D: middle eastern falafels (pitta bread =HEb) and salad
Snacks: 2x muller light, fruit.

I need to have some syns, I think I read that you need to have at least 5 syns a day. Can someone recommend some low value syns?

How many syns in those apple and sultana go ahead slices. We only have one pack left (with 3 slices in it). I have some alpen light bars, which I'd guess were about 3 syns each going by the theory that 2 = 1HEb.

FaceCrack · 15/04/2012 21:24

Dunno kid, I limit my syns so I can have wine on the weekend. Bee used to have extra bread and syn it. I quite like carrot or cucumber sticks for a syn free snack.

FaceCrack · 15/04/2012 21:25

They are 5.5 syns

kid · 15/04/2012 21:32

The go ahead slices are 5.5 syns or the alpen light bars?

I use syns daily as I'd never keep track of them if I used them all in one go. It sounds tempting though.
Carrot and cucumber sticks sound like a good idea. I could dip them in philidelphia for a low syn snack.
Off to make lunch otherwise I'll fail on my first day back on plan. I wonder if I can stick to it for the whole 7 days I've planned?
I've even factored in a takeaway on Friday night without blowing it. I can do it, I can do, I have to do it.
