MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 06/04/2012 13:15

Ok so i made the cupcakes and ate......................... 1 whole chocolate cupcake with choc and peanut butter frosting and chopped cho peanuts on top, about a table spoon each of peanut butter frosting and the white choc frosting........... feel sick as a dog and i believe i will not be making target tomorrow Sad and selfinflicted.

Why oh why do i self sabbotage......

Rianoceros · 06/04/2012 18:24

have a girders. I have bought stuff to have a go at cupcakes, as I thought the kids would like it. Am going to make chocolate ones with mini eggs on top if I can be bothered. Thankfully I'm not that fussed about cake...

went to a birthday party with DS3 earlier, which involved a easter egg hunt (and I'm not sure if the route is one mile or 2, I may have to check!) Have been ino town and trudged round this afternoon, so feel a bit weary.

expecially as DH seems to have just packed in his casual job he was doing, as they didn't ring him yesterday to say they were back off 3 weeks holiday and would need him (as arranged), then they got a random staff member to ring him tonight to find out why he wasn't there. He says it's too much hassle with the forms for the jobcentre and the deductions are not worthwhile etc, and I suppose he has a point, but I am still a bitHmm about it all.

ah well...

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 07/04/2012 09:13

Ria thanks for the hug, i was just feeling sorry for myself for being agreedy pig. Sorry about your dh job, maybe something more reliable will come along?

Well i had my DOD this morning and i did not make the goal i set (not surprising) but i did lose 2.5lbs and my total loss since 7th Jan is 20.5lbs and my bmi is now under 30 woo hoo! So not a bad week.

Need to be really careful this week as i can eat bread again as of tomorrow (end of lent) and i have a work training day on tue where food is provided and think its fish and chips for lunch! Can avoid all the biscuits and cakes at break time etc but not yet decided if i will make a lunch to bring and stick out like a sore thumb or suck up the syns as a 1 off? Will see how im going this week.

Hope your all enjoying the start of the weekend, im stuck in today with 2 sick kids :( so that will be fun!

Rianoceros · 07/04/2012 11:29

to say I can take or leave cake, and aren't fussed about Easter as a reason for a foodie get-together, it may well be a challenging weekend! Am doing a massive clean-up today, so would rather spend the time cleaning than preparing/eating foodShock, out at DSis's tomorrow (and she seems to have embraced burgers and sausages in buns as BBQ food this year, rather than the fancy more healthy stuff of previous years), then DS1s birthday on Monday... Tuesday will be something of a relief!

Have a lovely weekend everyoneSmile

Cheeseandbiscuits · 07/04/2012 13:53

Well done scotland, that's great. Fab loss really! Don't worry about a little blip, it happens to the best of us.

ria hope your DH finds something soon and enjoy a bBq Envy.

Quiet day for me, I've sent DH and DD out with PIL so I'm off to the gym. Planning wk 3 of c25k then a peaceful coffee with a copy of grazia.

Out for dinner tonight but I'm having a good week and I'm determined not to blow it.
Breakfast: coffee
L: salmon salad
D: out. It's a brasserie so prob a steak and veg or something!

Happy Easter!

Huffpot · 08/04/2012 15:25

Blips are a part of life unfortunately! I had birthday cake at a BBQ last night although I resisted all wine (premenstrual and DP's family who are hard work anyway and a tipsy no holds bar me wouldn't be a good combo!) and only had a jacket potato, salad and a bit of a bread roll.
I'm not feeling very optimistic about DOD this week but ahhh well.

Still on a positive note no easter eggs for me personally in the house although my dear children have received many so temptation is still very present

That sucks Ria Hope something else turns up soon for him

Ok Truffle recipe finally!
Makes 20
Syns for whole batch 24.5
2.5 syns for 2 truffles

... Ingredients
50g dark chocolate chips
113g quark
2 options sachets (any flavours)
28g chocolate sprinkles

Method

  • Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave for about a minute then stir until smooth
  • Beat the quark until creamy. Add the chocolate and mix well.
  • Add the options sachets and mix
  • Using a teaspoon, make 20 blobs onto some greaseproof paper and put in the fridge to harden slightly (about 20 minutes)
  • Remove from the fridge and roll into balls with the palms of your hands
  • Roll truffles in the chocolate sprinkles and put back in the fridge to set overnight. Once set store in an airtight container in the fridge

I've just made a gorgeous soup too with red lentils, sweet potatos, carrot and an apple - so yummy!

Happy easter all!

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 09/04/2012 07:37

Thanks huff for the truffle recipe, might make some at the weekend with the kids.

we also have mountains of easter eggs and sweets the kids got and i got a caramel egg off mil (not yet eaten) and i ate copious amounts of tiger bread yesterday as it was the end of lent. But i have now chucked out the rest of the loaf and will have a virtious breakfast after i have done the dreaded shred, have not been running since last wednesday as weather/child care/work are getting in the way, i have tried and failed to get up early to go. So will shred today and run after work tomorrow.

Hope your all having a lovely easter weekend, i have been at work and off to work again today Sad , but im hopeing my kids will be feeling better by wednesday when im off to do something nice as they have been in bed all weekend as unwell.

Todays food is;

B - fruit and yogurt
L- snack pot and salad
D - tuna pasta salad 2.5syns for the sweet chillli sauce

HA milk in coffee and HB cracker bread as snack with cottage cheese

LadyLou30 · 09/04/2012 08:54

Hiya girls

i'm about to start SW tomorrow, did it years ago and its always been the best diet for me if i stick to it. I've recently put on quite a bit of weight while signed off work with depression and although i feel a million times better now i need to deal with the weight - i was and am overweight anyway. The thing i hate the most is that i always feel sweaty, its just horrible :( I never ever see anyone who gets as hot as me, even if they are big - i'm hoping a few stone will help this. I've also just started my own business and want to feel and look my best if i am going to build this and be a success :)

I've got pdf's of all the days and systems from joining up online last year. Do you think its possible to do it this way rather than join a class?

Looking forward to being part of this group :)

Lou xx

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/04/2012 10:10

Hi ladylou, welcome. I do SW that way and it's working well for me. Feel free to weigh in with us on Wednesdays.

Glad you enjoyed the tiger bread

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/04/2012 10:11

Damn iPhone pressed sen too soon.

Right I'm glad you enjoyed the tiger bread, nom nom. I had a bad day yesterday involving pork roast dinner and pavlova and wine. Ah well, today is a new day.

Thanks for he recipe huff, they look great.
Food:
B: fruit and yog
L: out at soft play, I'm hoping I can get a jacket potato
D: cottage pie and veg

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/04/2012 11:56

Welcome ladylou. Certainly worth trying without a class as you are familiar with the plan already. Worth mentioning that tomato purée has been added to the free foods list since last year, and the cereal allowances have mostly been raised a teeny tiny bit, but you can only have 2 slices of ww brown Danish bread rather than 3 as a heB.

FriendofDorothy · 09/04/2012 18:38

I have had a truly dreadful weekend. Finished off tonight with fish and chips and Green and Blacks Chocolate.

A quick question for all you SW experts... what are the rules on SW when pregnant?

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/04/2012 19:49

Iirc they are exactly the same fod. Have you had some good news?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/04/2012 20:41

Huh dot? Good news?

SlinkyB · 09/04/2012 21:48

I think you're allowed an extra Healthy Extra, no? (and, if you're Anything like me, all manner of salty crap to help alleviate the morning sickness....sorry, not at all helpful).

Umm, do you have good news dot? .

FriendofDorothy · 09/04/2012 21:49

Yep - exciting news. I tested positive today. 19 months of trying and we have a win!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/04/2012 21:51

Woop woop dorothy. Lovely news! Bet you can barely believe it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/04/2012 21:53

Hurrah! Congratulations!

You get an extra he when bf certainly, but don't recall having one when I was pg, although my memory may have faded somewhat!

We have another pregnant lady on here don't we (vq?) - perhaps she can advise.

FriendofDorothy · 09/04/2012 21:55

I can't believe it yet - my head is all weirded out!

SlinkyB · 09/04/2012 22:09

Wow! Congratulations dot!! Expect it'll take a few days to sink in. Such happy news Smile
