Ah yes, it's that time again. New list, new decor. Same comfy chairs though Grin

So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

Morning fat fighters Grin. Just popping in to say re. Fit Flops and feet: I too have rolling in feet and I bought some FF sneakers. They are VERY comfy and bouncy BUT they did nothing for my rolling in at all. I had hoped they would correct my gait but no Sad They are also very wide so there seemed not to be a great deal of support.

I have just bought a pair of Nike Air Force 1's, which are a) way more cool and b) feel a bit like a nice friendly giant is clasping my foot Grin. Even DH noticed that I walk differently because they are way too sturdy for my feet to turn in.

ANYWAY back later re. food....

kid · 25/03/2012 10:39

I'm still in bed! But, I'm getting up in 2 minutes, need to drink my tea first.

So glad the lighter evenings are here, perfect weather for dog walking.
I'll be doing lots of housework today so that will be my exercise for the day. It will also distract me from eating.
Talking of eating, I have to go shopping today as my fridge is nearly empty.

Enjoy the weather and I hope the clocks going forward didn't deprive you of too much sleep.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 25/03/2012 11:02

Morning all, tis glorious here and i hope you all have simmilar weather.

DH and DD have just popped to halfords to get our tent set for our very first camping holiday this summer im uber exited and kids cant wait.

I have been for my run this morning and realise i must invest in some cropped running trousers as i was cooking, and some vest tops too.

Me and DS are off to his friends birthday party this afternoon at a poh garden center, so i must avoid all temptation of cakes and scones which i know will be there. Will fill up on brewakfast first.

kid im rather jealous your still in bed, lucky sod i was woken at half 5 by ds asking if it was mornig yet.

Food today will prob be;

B - Yogurt,orange and 6 cracker bread with spread HB and 2syns
L - Scrambled egg and beans most likely
D - Salad of some kind

I ate take away pizza late last night and feel sluggish as a result, must stop slipping on saturdays.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 25/03/2012 21:58

It was another beautiful day. Unfortunately I was a right grump after being up all night with DD who has her molars coming through. Dh is on nights so I have done 48 hours solidly with a mizz baby - looking forward to work in the morning.

Food today was:
Brunch: hobbit toast (HEA) 2x fried eggs with fry light, tomatoes and mushrooms.
Dinner: pork stirfry.
Snack : fish finger (6syns)
Exercise 1 hours hard gardening.

Tomorrow looks like:
B: weetabix and fruit (heb)
L: chicken salad and cous cous
D: spaghetti marinara

Night all, hope everyone has enjoyed the beautiful weather

Rianoceros · 25/03/2012 22:12

we had Fab-U-Lous weather too. went up the coast for a very long walk. I estimate between 6-8 miles, but DH only took his rucksack, and the pedometers are in mine. Will have to get them sorted out for the easter hols.

where are you going camping girders? DH suggested we go to the Lakes over easter to tackle Fairfield Horseshoe. will have to see.

Am not sure what rolling-in of the feet is? I relied heavily on my crocs for the orthotic (?) support when I had my sciatica limp (!), I can usually tell when I've worn other shoes, though have spent most of the winter in walking boots and they've been mostly OK. I had a pair of lovely birkenstocks too (also now quite grim, and worn out at the heel). I may have to replace them! A selection of sensible flip flops sounds a good planWink. My feet were very cross to be cooped up in boots today, and I had a fleeting moment where I wished I'd worn cropped trousersShock

need to plan my food for tomorrow, but it is likely to be green, and:
B: beans on toast (HEB)
L: pasta n sauce with extra veg
D: chicken breast (HEB) with cous cous and veg/salad, or jacket potato.
lots of fruit and muller light.

how many syns are nature valley granola bars? maple syrup ones.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/03/2012 08:55

Sounds like lots if lovely walking ria, I'm jealous. Rolling in feet is when your feet roll inwards so you don't really have any arches left. I love my birks but they are a bit clodhoppy. I got some in jones' sale for £15.

Cor, it's cold here this am. Still, best walk into work instead of hovering reluctantly outside. I have not had anywhere near enough sleep. Have a good day everyone and enjoy the rest of the sunshine while it lasts

Huffpot · 26/03/2012 10:18

I just bought a pair of fit flops too in the hope they'll support my dodgy very high arched pes cavus feet as am sick of living in trainers with my orthotics - specially with summer coming up!

Wasn't it glorious weather on the weekend?

I'm debating buying some lovely bright jeans to celebrate :-D

Going to grab some food today as horror of all horrors have run out of salad!
Have a great day all :-)

Hedgepig · 26/03/2012 11:59

cripes we have some crappy feet on this threads, I too have no arched left I tried Birkensock Cheese but my feet are long size 8.5 to 9 so I had to try mens and they were too wide and my 2nd toe is longer than my big toe so it was over the outside ridge they very uncomfortably, and I had held out so much hope for them to support my feet and stop them hurting Sad. Interestingly loosing weight has made no difference to the discomfort at all

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 26/03/2012 12:46

Can I add to the feet woes? Mine are wide and flat (so attractive).

Huffpot I have been eyeing up coloured jeans, not got the bottle yet tho.

B - yog and orange
L - beans wedges hb (olive oil) quorn fillet topped with cheese ha
D - prawn salad with Marie rose sauce 5 syns ish

Snack - banana

FriendofDorothy · 26/03/2012 13:04

I love my Birkenstocks.

I have funny feet too with really high arches.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/03/2012 14:33

Ive got coloured jeans; plum. Then I bought some bottle green chinos in new look yesterday. I really want some pink ones but they make my legs look like sausages Sad

Huffpot · 26/03/2012 14:34

Are the Burkenstocks good FoD?
I asked my chiropodist about shoes but she just said any my orthotics fit into or any Im comfy in without if I can bear the consequences....

I know....thats why Im still eyeing them up without purchase. I did ask my very fashion conscious friend (whos very honest) if she thought I could get away with them and she thinks I could. My OH who is very staid thinks coloured jeans are awful which may just be the trigger to buy them just to horrify him :o

Huffpot · 26/03/2012 14:36

Well done Cheese
I do really love the bright blue ones....I figure its a good burst of colour

AddictedtoCrunchies · 26/03/2012 14:43

Hello

I'm just coming to the end of a three month subscription to WW where I managed to lose the sum total of 6lbs. This isn't just the eating plan though, I'm not very motivated to eat healthy food. And I can't be arsed counting everything.

Much of this is because I do a lot of exercise (netball x2 pw, running 5-6miles x2 pw, shred level 1 x5 pw) so I'm starving. All the time. And my choices aren't always the best. Blush

Am thinking I may switch back to SW as the unlimited carbs may satisfy my hunger. I did my measurements about 3 weeks ago and am hoping they will have moved as the weight isn't.

So I'm off to visit my best pal abroad in 7 weeks and 2 days and she's a beautiful size ten. I am not. I am a 16/18 however I am 5' 11" with size 9 feet so am never going to be a size ten. I'd quite like to be a 14 though.

I am currently (as at 7.30am today) 14st 9lb. Do you think I could feasibly drop a stone on SW in 7 weeks? What should my strategy be? Have DH and DS (4) to consider for meal planning but work in an office with access to microwave and fridge so no excuses really.

I've read this whole thread and you seem to be SW queens so what do you suggest? Disclaimer: I don't like veg but love fruit and salad.

WWYD?

FriendofDorothy · 26/03/2012 14:55

I would do SW. I think it is perfectly possible to shift that about of weight if you stop fannying around like me you follow the plan properly.

Huffpot I seriously love Birkenstocks and have about 10 pairs in different colours. I have to make sure that I get ones that fit me well and that don't flop about on my feet and these are my absolutely favourite style.

I also have to go down one size to make sure they fit properly. They definitely took a bot of getting used to though as the shaped foot-bed made my feet sore for a few days, but now they are very comfy.

Rianoceros · 26/03/2012 19:10

have shoe envyEnvy

feel absolutely dire ATM. Ended up having a nap this afternoon as I felt so top-heavy and dizzy. Do you think it's due to changing my pretty rubbish diet back to SW, or a virus? I find it really hard to stick to plan when I feel like poo and have eaten toastBlush

I weighed in ths morning heavier than everSad, so feeling pants about myself too. at self. Need a motivation tablet!

Rianoceros · 26/03/2012 19:11

crunchies, SW sounds like it may be for youSmile

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/03/2012 19:17

Yep I think so crunchie, ESP with all the exercise you do. You will find the weight will come off quicker if you cut back on carbs. Pasta is the work of the devil I find. Having said that, I'm having it for dinner. Nom nom.

SlinkyB · 26/03/2012 21:33

Welcome Crunchie, wow that's a lot of exercise in a week, am well jel. I just don't seem to have the inclination time . Def think you can shift 2lbs per week for seven weeks if you try hard and stick the the SW plan - good luck!

I have three pairs of Birkies - the Gizeh ones linked above in black and white, and some bright pink single-strap ones. They are soooo comfy I only ever wanna wear em! But agree they're rather clod-hoppy. Fine with linen trousers or jeans for casual wear. I've gotta get summit smarter to wear to work this summer and hate shoe shopping.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 27/03/2012 09:16

Morning all.

I've got the lurgy - thanks Dh and Dd. still the sun is shining at least. It's also our wedding anniversary today. Yep married 2 years without killing the bastard Grin. We aren't really celebrating today but are going out Friday night. Dh has his exam resit in thurs, please cross your fingers everyone.

Food:
B: branflakes, strawbs and fat free yog (heb)
L: tuna and cous cous salad, fruit
D: steak and roast veg.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 27/03/2012 09:53

Thanks all. Ate really well yesterday then ate five (yes FIVE) mint clubs last last. No exercise yesterday either as had done a 10k race Sunday and legs were a bit achy.

Never mind, today's a new day. Actually, seem to remember a trick from further up the page...

_ < my line being drawn

LumpyLatimer · 27/03/2012 10:45

Morning all!

Sorry not to be here much Blush

Work is tres busy at the mo and I am just managing to cling on to doing plenty of exercise and offsetting socialising with bowls of high fibre cereal and skimmed milk. I might not weigh in tomorrow because I know from past experience that weight gain makes me go loopy, and then I just lie face down in chocolate-garnished lard Hmm but I am taking measurements and hope to be there for the DoD next week.

Still working out the best strategy for loss. So much of this seems to be mental (in both meanings of the word) and SW makes me feel so restricted and diety and is so hard to fit around last minute arrangements/hanging out eating and rinking with pals, so I am calorie counting at the mo.

Welcome, Crunchie! I would have thought with that level of exercise SW would be perfect for you. Lots of high-nutrition, bulky, low cal food. You can eat plenty of pasta to sustain your runs etc.

Sorry you're lurgyish cheese Sad Bloody hard to be virtuous when you feel shoite.

Food for me today:

B - muesli and peppermint tea
L - 1oz cheese with some oatcakes and grapes
D - butternut squash and lentil dhal with flatbread, and some plan chocolate with coffee for after.

FriendofDorothy · 27/03/2012 10:49

I am struggling. I could cry all day today.

I am eating OK but not losing any weight and I am still not sodding pregnant.

Bollocks to it all.

Just looking at my food above, I'm doing extra easy, but they would both fit well into a red/original day also, wouldn't they?
