Ah yes, it's that time again. New list, new decor. Same comfy chairs though Grin

So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

Hmm - that's a tricky one bee. Could you ask one of the other neighbours whether it has caused disruption before? But surely it's not dv if he doesn't live there and they are not together?

grinningbee · 22/03/2012 23:34

Ok, possibly the wrong term used there, but I don't know what else to call it. Previous partner violence?

More to the point - do I want to live next door to it, or have my dc subjected to it.

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 22/03/2012 23:43

Sorry - I meant it in a checking I'd understood correctly sense, and that the offender doesn't actually live next door. I guess that anyone could have a nutjob turn up at their door though, esp someone who has pretended to be dead to get out of paying debts for example...

Cheese - can I ask you a quick medical q please? Is there any sort of tummy medicine suitable for a 3 year old? Ds1 is still milk intolerant and has had several bad tummy aches recently as a result of it (because I have started having some dairy and he still bfs a couple of times a day). I have given him gripe water, but it's only really meant for babies, only I have no idea what else I could give! Am happy to see gp if he needs a prescription, but don't want to bother if there's nothing available, or if I could buy over the counter just as easily.

grinningbee · 22/03/2012 23:55

Blimey.

On that note, I'm off to bed.

Much thinking to do.

csws Can't think of anything specific off the top of my head. Will do some research over the weekend and let you know my very learned findings. Hope he gets better soon though, poor thing.

LumpyLatimer · 23/03/2012 09:41

Amazing. I'm coming straight to you next time I fall off the wagon.

Kid hope you're feeling more motivated this morning.

Bee - urgh. My heart sank reading that because I can just imagine how you must feel (we once lived in a flat with an insane landlady living below and it kind of wrecked our lives for a year....). I hope you can make a quick and firm decision about what to do - I tend to find that once a decision is made I'd OK, it's just the agonies beforehand I can't stand. I must admit that I would probably conclude that it's not for me and I'd take my chances with getting another house, but I am very, very cautious and nervy about that sort of thing, so I'm not necessarily right.

Arf at our Cheese being squiffy! HOW ARE YOU THIS MORNING CHEESE?! I SAID HOW ARE YOU????

RIGHT as promised today is Another Today.

Exercise - 30 length backstroke

B - grapes, ff yog, muesli (HEB)

L - grilled mackerel, roast butternut squash, spinach, beetroot (2 syns in mustard marinade)
Stewed apple (HEB, plus 2 syns in honey)

D - grilled chicken with roast veg, fruit salad for after

I will prolly have an HEA snack of cheese and grapes.

Have a lovely day everyone - gorgeous sunshine out there!

pixiestix · 23/03/2012 12:11

Urgh Bee thats not what you needed at all Sad I guess the question is how unhappy would you be to stay in your current house for the next year or so? Is that a worse scenario than gambling on life in the new place?

Thanks for the 9st-something congrats! Grin I should qualify that by stating that I am a midget 5ft 1.5 so I really should be 7st something. Like thats EVER going to happen! Good weigh in at group this week as well so I am a happy Pixie atm!

kid · 23/03/2012 12:48

I'm feeling a bit more determined today. Dh informed me we are going out for dinner tonight. We're going to a steakhouse so I'll have steak with a side salad and diet coke so that's ok.

ValiumQueen · 23/03/2012 14:42

Hello, I was on the original thread but lapsed somewhat. Cannot remember what I was called at the time - possibly stinkypinky.

Well, went back to SW 9 weeks ago, and have lost 1st 2.5lb in that time - also gained an 8 week foetus, so keeping an eye on my weight is even more important.

I am home with a sick child today, so will try to catch up Smile

LumpyLatimer · 23/03/2012 14:47

Hello VQ! Congrats on the foetus and on the weight loss Grin

pixiestix · 23/03/2012 14:50

Welcome back VQ. Congratulations! I managed to be 11lbs lighter after giving birth than pre-pregnancy but 1st 2.5 in 9 weeks is amazing Shock

LumpyLatimer · 23/03/2012 14:56

Pix I didn't know that! That's amazing too!

You're all amazing! Hand me some of your amaze! Grin

ValiumQueen · 23/03/2012 15:24

That is so good to hear Pix I hope I have a similar story to tell. I am fighting constant nausea, which in my second pregnancy was only eased by double cheeseburgers. So far I have resisted.

grinningbee · 23/03/2012 15:41

Hello VQ and congrats on the bump!

Thanks everyone re the house. Subject to seeing inside it we think we're going to have to take it. If it's truly awful we'll have to think of a plan B. Probably stand more chance of someone wanting a 3 bed house over a 2 bed warden controlled bungalow if we want to swap!

Now then, something has been biting at me since last night. I'm going to take a break from this thread for a few weeks. I will come back again when the inevitable moving chaos has settled. A comment made last night, however true it may be, actually managed to make me cry. That's not a good thing, so it's time to take a time out. I'm not flouncing, just taking a breather. I'll still be around on FB every now and again I dare say.

Good luck to you all for the next few weeks, have a lovely Easter. I shall be busy with dd's 3rd birthday and packing/decorating/stressing etc.

Hopefully I won't come back at my start weight.

Oh, and Lumpy I'm handing over the naming of the next thread to you. I know you're new and everything, but you seem to have my sense of humour. Make it a good'un.

OP posts:
kid · 23/03/2012 16:14

Sorry to see you go bee but I'm glad you'll be back. Good luck with the move (assuming it goes ahead that is) and hope your DD's birthday goes well.

Welcome VQ and congratulations on the pregnancy. Hope the nausea settles soon. I was very lucky with both of my pregnancies as I didn't suffer with sickness. I did manage to put on a shocking amount of weight 1st time but managed to stick to just 2st for the 2nd one. Shame I'm still carrying that excess weight now and my 'baby' is almost 10!

I came home from work tonight and was really looking forward to tucking into a cup of tea and a few squares of chocolate. (assume that would be about 9 or 10 syns?)
But, I realised it wouldn't be just 3 squares so I had 14 olives instead which is just 2 syns. I think you'd agree that was a better way to use syns.
I've put the chocolate on the top shelf of the fridge. I'm a shorty so if they are pushed right to the back, I can't actually reach them anyway!

I am delighted its the weekend and I am childfree for the night so a lovely relaxing evening for me. Wonder how long this lovely weather will last?

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/03/2012 16:24

Have messaged you bee :).

Welcome VQ. I already posted on your other thread to say that I lost weight whilst pregnant with my first :)

ValiumQueen · 23/03/2012 16:25

Hi, and Bye Bee

kid I can recommend Mikado at 1/2 sin each - put in fridge and suck slowly!

ValiumQueen · 23/03/2012 16:26

I remember CSWS Smile

kid · 23/03/2012 16:46

I've had those mikado things before and I reckon I could eat a whole box in less than a minute!

ValiumQueen · 23/03/2012 17:24

Grin I can make a box last a month!

So what pearls of wisdom have you gained since I was last here? Any wonderful recipes? How have people been getting on? I gave up trying to catch up Blush Is Alpine still around, and Fish and our founder with the baking and the fancy vintage wardrobe?
