Ah yes, it's that time again. New list, new decor. Same comfy chairs though Grin

So, pull up a chair, settle in and make yourselves at home Smile

bee in our last place, we were tight for space for a table too. Bought one of those cheap butterfly dining sets (ours was £100) which stores the four chairs within it. We had it in our living room and it worked well - might that be an option for you in your new place? It looks lovely by the way, nice new kitchen by the looks? And own drive and big garden are huge plus points. I can tell you're very excited! I remember doing all that mental planning only a few months ago Grin. Am so pleased for you.

grinningbee · 21/03/2012 15:07

Ooooh, Slinky - you've just reminded me of something I saw in Ikea... hang on and I'll find a link (talk amongst yourselves for a sec)

...

...

Here it is

Do you mean that sort of thing? that one is expensive, but I bet ebay or something would have one similar.

Are you settling in to the new house yet with your massive garden?

Hedge Yay for the sleep! It makes such a difference, doesn't it.

The house inspection is happening now. When he's done we'll get a phonecall (hopefully) to say when we can have a look properly. Think I need to make a cuppa!

Oh, my pal has that table and chair set - or one very like it. It's dead chic, and the chairs are surprisingly comfy. It goes really well in the corner of a small room but you can still sit 4 people round it and have a bawdy dinner party....

Bee can we all come and help you move and then get pissed and eat a massive Chinese to celebrate Grin

kid · 21/03/2012 15:36

I bought that set for my PIL, its a great space saver. It was half that price in argos at the time and worth every penny.

grinningbee · 21/03/2012 15:43

Of course Lumpy - we can all get pickled and lay about in the massive garden giggling like loons Grin

Actually, that sounds really good! Think I might have to get a cheap bbq. And some garden lanterns. And maybe some patio chairs.

You watch it rain all summer now I've said that Wink

OP posts:
kid · 21/03/2012 15:46

The one we bought wasn't identical but very similar.

here

SlinkyB · 21/03/2012 16:08

Can't link as on tablet and am meant to be cleaning. And am Thick but if you Google 'budget butterfly dining sets and click on furniture in fashion, it's that one. The chairs actually fold almost flat, so even better when it's not in use.

Settled in lovely to new house thanks, enjoying having friends over to see it (but diet has gone out of window). But not enjoying extra cleaning Grin. Went to view a couple of wedding reception venues last week too, just gotta convince dp that the lovely golf course hotel place is worth the extra money over the manky community hall!

kid · 21/03/2012 16:14

I'm sure you'll get your own way Slinky, just flutter those eye lashes and say how much you love the golf course and how special you will feel and hopefully that will work. If not, sulk for a few hours and that should work Grin

I so need someone to sort out my diet. I don't feel very confident at it right now. All I seem to eat is couscous, peppers, passata and chicken. Not altogether obviously but thats basically what my diet consists of. No wonder I am getting bored of it.
Today is a red day, I've got some chicken to cook and I've had 1 HEb. I can't remember what I planned to have tonight but I reckon I don't have all the ingredients.

I ran out of diet pepsi at the weekend and haven't been shop to get any. I am having major withdrawal symptoms. I am going shop in a bit to get some as I need it. At least its a cheaper and healthier addiction that smoking!
I have even had to drink some water as I am so thirsty. I only ever drink water at the gym, or in tea which I suppose doesn't really count.

SlinkyB · 21/03/2012 16:26

Yes yes, the feminine wiles have been in over-drive kid, don't you worry!

When I get bored of SW and stuck in a rut, I tend to re-read the book for inspiration. Do you eat red meat? Maybe have a red day and treat yourself to a big juicy steak with a few syn-free chips? Or have a Slimming World 'fry-up'?

kid · 21/03/2012 16:44

Dh ate my special low syn sausages, I wasn't impressed.

I don't have any recent books, my most recent one is about 10 years old.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/03/2012 18:52

Slinky - you can't have sw chips on a red day you dope Grin.

That table was the ikea one I was thinking of bee.

I haven't looked at pics yet as been out all day, but will have a nosey once I've got the dc to bed.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 21/03/2012 18:58

Right sorry for doing the list early, but its been a crazy day. I am popped and just want to crash out. Really short list but here goes!

Pixiestix has lost 2lbs this week, current weight 9st 13.5, start weight 12st 12, total loss 2st 12.5

cheese has lost 2lbs this week, start weight 13stone 3lbs, now weighs 11 stone 9lbs, total loss 1stone 8lbs

CSWS has lost 1lb this week, total loss 3stone 3.5lbs

Hedgepig Height 5' 7", Target Member start weight 14st 11lb, - current weight 11 st 2 lb (still within the 3 lb tolerance)

Well done pixie for getting to her pre Christmas weight.

Hi lumpy good to have you back, jealous of all this social life.

slinks glad wedding plans are coming along nicely and that you are enjoying your new home.

kid look on minimims for some SW inspiration, it is quite useful.

bee I think it s very exciting all this new home talk. How are things with AM?

kid · 21/03/2012 19:53

I am a member of that site but I don't know how up to date their syn value was as a recipe I got off their recently almost made me make a meal with 46 syns in it Shock

Well done on the losses. I'm glad I didn't WI this week!

SlinkyB · 21/03/2012 20:36

Wow, we'll done pix -9st-something Shock Envy and to cheese and CSWS for losing again this week.

hedge We are the same height, have set/met the same target, and are the same weight this week! Think I'd better start being good again soon, too near the 3lb over threshold for my liking this week.

I haven't been to group for years, but thought you could have a small amount of potatoes as a Healthy Extra on a red day? Saying that, if they were made with little or no fat, I'd probably have a medium to large amount with my steak Grin.

I have a major recording clash coming up on tv; The Apprentice, One Born, Touch and The Sopranos are all on at 9pm?! Thank goodness for the tv upstairs and iPlayer...

Huffpot · 21/03/2012 20:49

Congrats to all the losers!
I put on 1lb but not as bad as it could have been....onwards and downwards!!!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 21/03/2012 20:56

I'd be interested in the cauliflower rice too csws!

Have heard of it before, but never made it!

Well done everyone, I love catching up on this thread, it's my mid week treat to myself Grin

debka · 21/03/2012 21:01

hi everyone!

DH finally fixed my computer so I'm back on. Well done all for losses, bee get yerself back on the straight and narrow girl, you know you'll feel better for it.

Lost 2.5 lbs this week, hoping for 3 next week to get my FIVESTONEAWARD

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/03/2012 21:35

Cauliflower rice
Mixing your HE of grated cheese with a load of this is bloody gorgeous as cauli cheese too!

slinks - you can have a baked potato or little new pots in their skins as a HE, but you need to have the skin, so not the normal chips.

Well done on your losses pix and cheese :).

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/03/2012 21:35

and well done debka too!

kid · 21/03/2012 21:46

I've got some normal rice left over from dinner which I thought I'd have tomorrow. I cooked it with pilau rice flavouring. Is that still free or have I created rice with syns?

Also, how much tuna in brine (drained) can I have as a HEb?

Rianoceros · 21/03/2012 21:51

this is a blog of a lady who was in the SW mag a while back. I thought it had a lot of recipes on it when I first looked, but maybe not.

well done on all losses and maintains Smile

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/03/2012 22:11

115g of tuna kid. Out of interest, what do you see as the benefit of having a green day rather than an extra easy, when you are using a HE for tuna?
I don't know what you mean by pilau rice flavouring. Is that a branded product? I can look it up if you tell me the brand.

Rianoceros · 21/03/2012 22:16

what are the best low-syn sausages that aren't cumberland?

Hedgepig · 21/03/2012 22:24

Ive never found any non-cumberland ones Ria, I think they improve for being in a casserole type dish rather than just grilled

I have the same thought CSWS , personally I think unless you are having vegetarian meals you may as well do EE rather than green, and ive never managed a red day as I need my carbs too much

Cheeseandbiscuits · 21/03/2012 22:24

Well done debka on another great loss.

Not sure ria, quorn? We use the Sainsbos low fat ones.
