I'm up to Day 6 level 2. I've had a week off as I wasn't feeling very well and I'm feeling it in my bum and thighs today. Determined to get to day 30 so I'll keep going.
Weight wise I'm 5'10 and 12 stone. I'd like to be a stone less, Anything less and I'd look haggard.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 16/03/2012 18:17

Welcome everyone. Smile

jellibelli · 16/03/2012 19:25

Did Ripped L4 this morning. I don't dislike it though strangely, I prefer L3... Only another workout or two (can't remember when I started) left before I am officially Ripped! Then I think I will move on to Killer Buns, but I think I will take the running a notch too, so I think my legs are going to be ifor a hammering Shock

buzi of course you are welcome. Just jump right in. If you look at a runners body and Jillians body, which would you rather have? That will give you an idea of what exercise you'll be needing to do. I cleaned my diet and started shred and I did lose inches and lbs but not whatever the DVD cover says. Well, not in the 30 days but I have lost lots since starting the shred last year.

twllbach stick with the thread we'll nag help you to complete the Shred.

notyummy · 16/03/2012 19:28

Bezi - you can do both. I do 15-20 miles a week running at the moment (hoping to up the mileage slightly as weather and light improves) and I do 3 or 4 JM workouts as well. Running is really handy if you travel a lot as you need nothing other than trainers/clothes.

Buzi · 16/03/2012 21:34

Ok I am on it tomorrow am I am starting ...!

TwllBach · 17/03/2012 07:19

Thank you every

TwllBach · 17/03/2012 07:25

Gah stupid iPhone. I meant to say...

Thank you everyone, I definitely need nagging! I've got so much weight to lose and really feel down about it most of the time. Like a PP said, I've really tried to clean up my diet, but I know that I feel somuch better after exercise. Does it realise endorphins or something?

I'm really feeling it today Grin my lower half is very stiff and it's pushed my sciatica up a pain level, so I'll do some Pilates before I head off to work this morning and hope that sorts it. DP will be watching the rugby as well, which means I am free to shred after work without having someone gawp at me Grin

CHST · 17/03/2012 08:45

Hi guys, welcome everyone!
Today is officially day 30 of ripped. I took measurements/weight so will share with you. I am 5ft so a shortie.
Before
Weight 129.4lbs (9st3) After 124lbs (8st 12)
measurement round bellybutton 33 inch after 30

hips 40 inch after 38
arm 12 1/2 inch after 11 1/2
leg 22 inch after 20

really happy with these results, particularly as I took rest days unlike with shred.
I am going to do level 3 today and level 4 tomorrow to round things off and then think what to do next...probably a mix...I have 6 week 6 pack, buns and thighs, extreme shed and shred, yoga meltdown and bfbm. I am toying with the idea of buying nmtz as don't have that yet. In laws are coming mid next wek so will have to hide away to exercise Smile

knottyhair · 17/03/2012 08:54

Great results CHST Smile! Welcome to all the new people. Rest day today and going to do either Ripped L3 or Shred L2 tomorrow, the other one on Monday.

threestepsforward · 17/03/2012 08:59

Morning all!

And hello to Twll, Buzi and Redblanket Smile Stay with us!

CHCS those measurements are fantastic!!! I think you owe yourself NMTZ as a reward Wink The fact you haven't done Ripped every day is good as it shows you can fit it in around your life rather than the other way round, and still get the results - win win!!

Mum's DVD is ancient and coal-powered and it's getting really hard to play anything on it. Yesterday it decided not to give me any sound so I didn't do BFBM as I didn't have it in me to do 40 mins in complete silence, save for my panting and heavy breathing, so I attempted L2 Shred and got through it. Managed to stay with 2.5 kg with the V-raises and back feels okay.

Long walk in the forest with the dogs today and will be doing something later if I can persuade the crappy DVD player to work.

Have a good day everyone Smile

Morning everyone.

CHCS that is brilliant. Well done for that. I really recommend NMTZ - it is my overall favourite of the DVDs.

I wish I had measured myself at the beginning, however I have a very fitted non-stretchy dress which I use as a barometer. In December it didn't get over my hips. End of January I could get it on but not do the zip up. End of February I could do the zip up but it strained and I looked like an overstuffed cumberland sausage in it. Tried it on this week and it did up easily and I looked OK in it.

twlbach good luck with it - don't feel daunted. I wish I had started on this thread at the beginning of January when I started. I was useless at the DVDs and remember nearly crying halfway through shred L2. It is amazing how quickly your fitness picks up.

buzi I am similar to you in that I was ill last year, and the steroids and being housebound meant I put on 2 stone in a matter of weeks. Horrible. Iwas 12 stone 3 and although not strictly fat I felt very uncomfortably overweight and losing the excess has made me feel a lot better. I have been low carbing as well and that combined with the JM dvds has made all the difference.

Just off to do NMTZ (am going to include the penultimate circuit which I always skip) and L2 ripped.

notyummy · 17/03/2012 12:07

Well done CHST! Amazing results.

Getorf- NMTZ and L2 Ripped- that must 1 hr 10 minutes of JM at least. Don't do yourself a mischief, as my dad would say!

DH and I did L2 and L3 of ripped this morning. Good workout- pretty tough. Those crow pressups- ouch.....

GetOrfMoiiLand · 17/03/2012 12:11

lol at don't do yourself a mischief. Grin

Crow push ups are a killer. Bloody things.

I don't normally warm up or cool down so that cuts out time. But I did do the cool down on L2 6W6P this week out of interest and Jillian was so sweet. I know it's all schmaltzy but the pep talk 'make time for yourself' was really sweet imo.

Bless her re adopting a Haitian baby.

VenetiaLanyon · 17/03/2012 12:12

Congrats, CHCS; splendid results Smile.
I am out again, with a nasty cold this time; grrrrr. See you all next week.

PS Anyone ever done 3 Shreds / Rippeds back-to-back....?

GetOrfMoiiLand · 17/03/2012 12:24

If they have they died so cannot tell us about it Grin

greenfig · 17/03/2012 12:27

My DVD now not working at all, disaster! I tried to exercise & was really keen honest but just missed her 'encoragement' so know what you mean 3steps. V frustrating to get all keeny meeny & now have to wait- hmphh.
Excellent results CHST
Sorry x post yest buzi so welcome & to other newbies.
Def agree re endorphins, can feel tired then more energetic post shred.
Have a lovely w/e allSmile

Happypiglet · 17/03/2012 16:42

So have must done D2 L2 RI30.... Did better this time but still find plank jacks and mountain climbers too hard on my arms... But managed all the plank jacks but only half of climbers... Ditto squats half advanced half beginner! Rest was OK tho!
I always feel better for dong a Jillian DVD its the pschying myself up before hand that I find hard... Have a good weekend all... Think I will give myself Mothers day off!!!

Happypiglet · 17/03/2012 16:42

Altho exercise obviously plays havoc with my typing skills!!!

threestepsforward · 17/03/2012 17:26

Grin at 'dong a Jillian', oo er missus

Happypiglet that mountain climber/plank jack bit is a killer, particularly on the poor arms.

Oh nooo greenfig. Can you play DVDs on your pc? Would that work? DP calmly asked me why I wasn't doing just that and I had no reasonable answer than it didn't occur to me! Sooo have done L1 Killer just now on my laptop and all worked fine!

My BFBM DVD, on the other hand, is officially dead, kaput. I will order another on Amazon as now I've re-discovered it I don't want to be without it!

Have a good rest of weekend all

I have not done anything today or yesterday as my DM is here. Just checking in to keep me inspired; am liking the ideas of pictures but actually afraid of taking them right now ... SO impressed by CHST's results, again, actively afraid of measuring my actual thighs. Just downloaded a JM book to my kindle, forgotten which (kindles are WAY too easy to operate at the checkout, I've had mine 10 mins and it's full of Stuff I'd Never Put On An Actual Bookshelf... I digress). So. Going to try to get a run tomorrow but pretty sure I should be able to get back to Shredding tomorrow evening. Well done everyone, it is such a relief to have a team Jillian keeping up the momentum when my own fades a bit.

RedBlanket · 17/03/2012 21:44

Thanks for the welcome, although I'm a bit Blush to admit I've been here before a few times

I've had shred DVD for a couple of years and never got past level 2, so I'm quite pleased that I'm up to day 7 now. I'm determined to get to get to day 30!

Mind you I've just looked at the preview video of shed and shred on JM's website and I feel scared!

FruitShootsAndHeaves · 17/03/2012 22:58

Day 1 of level 2...was a bit impossible of a laugh. I couldn't learn the moves that quickly and kept having to slow her down until I got the hang of them.

what sort of maniac invented those exercises balancing with one knee up and pushing up your arms. I was laughing at ds trying to balance...even he gave up tonight and he's usually really keen to cheat to keep up, all the DC's have given up keeping up with it now...lightweights!

I found my starting weight and it would seem I was actually 9st 6lbs when I started 12 days ago. so I've lost 3lbs, which sounds better than 1!

Sparklyboots, I only took my waist measurement at the start, and that is no different yet. I'm sure my legs must be more toned though as they hurt every day!

knottyhair · 18/03/2012 09:07

Morning! Did a Ripped L3 this morning. Managed 3kg for all except the diagonal sit up things with weights, had to drop to 2kg or I whack myself in the leg Blush. Dare I say it, but the duck walks are getting a bit easier?? Still prefer L4 though. Happy Mother's Day!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 18/03/2012 15:54

Hi everyone.

Did back to back 6W6P L1 and 2 this afternoon - didn't kill me as much as last week.

Just off out for dinner. Hope you have all had a lovely mother's day.

FruitShootsAndHeaves · 18/03/2012 16:28

Is 6W6P good?

I might get that after I've done 30DS as it's my stomach I really need to tone up.
