Who is up for a stone off in a month?

MeremetaLoucoDiamant · 13/02/2012 22:49

Or maybe as close to that as we can get?

I am size 14, would love to drop a dress size for a specific date next month and I am possibly 20lbs ish overweight, so a stone would be a great starting point.

I am vegetarian but attempting to low carb.

So.... who's in?

I know, I need a slap! Don't worry, I'm not gonba go binge eat, I dont do that. I mean that I'm so focused, then just stop counting the cals.

Right, plan for Monday, GYM!!!!

dinkystinkyexpectations · 03/03/2012 10:44

You dont need a slap, you just need to keep the faith and keep doing what you're doing to lose weight and you'll be fine. Can you incorporate some exercise into the weekend - maybe a walk or an exercise dvd?

shinecrazydiamond · 03/03/2012 10:45

fuzzy - you CAN do this but it takes one thing - and that is the mental 'click'... if that makes sense? When i dont have that, i cannot do it AT ALL.

shinecrazydiamond · 03/03/2012 11:02

Actually this is doing me in. Aaaaggghhhh..

I am sipping some sparkling water but cannot face breakfast as just CANNOT eat an omelette or brown rice cereal with natural yogurt. I do NOT want stir fried veg later or tofu and that is ALL that is on the fucking menu really.

Hmmmmmmmmmm

LaVitaBellissima · 03/03/2012 11:11

Fuzzy, last night I put on my gym gear started doing the Shred, I then turned it off after 5 mins, ate lots of fried calamari and prawns, drank a whole bottle of Wine and am currently baking macaroons Blush

Monday!!!,

shinecrazydiamond · 03/03/2012 11:11

I love macaroons Sad

shinecrazydiamond · 04/03/2012 13:52

Quiet in here Smile

Well, I am on the last day of phase 1 of this evil diet. I have lost a total of 7lbs in 5 days but today I am losing the will to live. Tomorrow I intend to do another strict 5 days but add in feta cheese, strawberries, blueberries and Quorn. The thought of that fucking brown rice cereal makes me want to heave.

How are we all?

dinkystinkyexpectations · 04/03/2012 15:39

It's quite something when quorn is pepping up your diet! Today I have had yoghurt for breakfast, nandos spicy bean burger in pitta half portion of chips and frozen yoghurt and diet coke for lunch. Dinner will be egg white and veg omelette of some description. And cherries for pudding.

ferfuxake · 04/03/2012 20:46

Don't know about everyone else, but I've been quiet since my smug post yesterday morning because I've done my usual weekend off-the-rails trick. Toast, chips, wine (yes more), chocolate, and the rest... God I am so rubbish!

I guess I'll just have to get back on the wagon tomorrow and hope I can undo the damage.

Shiney and Dinky - you are an example to us all!

Hope the rest of you have done better than me.

shinecrazydiamond · 04/03/2012 21:14

Oh chips and chocolate sounds yummy! Yes, climb back on the wagon.

I have no idea how I have done these past 5 days. I want to be slim. I HAVE to do this

FuzzzyDuck · 05/03/2012 08:21

Morning!! Just weighed.. Down to 14.10 so lost 3lbs since last Monday. Im happy even though since Thursday I didn't calorie count or nothing!! Haven't went over board though which I'm glad about, but just to much of the wrong things! But back on it today Smile

So toast and honey for breakfast then I think a tuna wrap for lunch. I'll be out all afternoon so need to be prepared. Think that's what gets me.

Congrats to those who have more willpower than me Blush Grin

nenevomito · 05/03/2012 08:50

Hello! I am firmly back on the wagon today after a weekend of excess in all areas.

Carbs: Check
Fried Things: Check
Chocolate and sweeties: Check
Eye watering amounts of alcohol: Check
Fry up and roast dinner the day after the night before: Check.

Now I have got that out of my system, its back to oatcakes and a cup of tea for breakfast, omlette for lunch and grilled cajun spiced turkey steaks and salad for dinner. I shall not be weighing myself until the end of the week as I know I will have put weight on after the weekend, so there is no point in upsetting myself. I'll be dusting off the Wii Fit again though.

7lb in 5 days is just amazing Shiney Shock I admire your will power, but think I would shoot myself on that diet, so will stick to slow, but steady loss!

greenfig · 05/03/2012 10:49

Hi, can I join? I lost 1 1/2 stone on Dukan, but never lost the last few pounds. Have kept it off quite well (am only up a few lbs) but would now like to lose 1/2 stone for summer to get down to original target. Have been 1/2 heartedly losing a few 1bs during the week then putting back on at the w/e!! I found the Dukan thread helped keep me focused so am hoping this thread will get me back on track.
A new week, will get there this time!!

shinecrazydiamond · 05/03/2012 11:49

Hi greenfig and welcome! Are you low carbing?

I like the sound of your weekend Baby - a little light on cake, in my opinion, but a sterling effort nonetheless.

Breakfast for me has been Kallo brown rice cereal, natural yogurt and a small amount of berries. I am on this for another 5 days with a couple of additions [ namely berries, quorn and cheese ]... I am just 5lbs away from a major goal... can I get there by 17th March do we think?

Junebugjr · 05/03/2012 11:52

Hello all! Can I play too.

Am on day 1 phase 1 of the harcombe diet. A tough 5 days but I'm going to crack it. I've done the harcombe before a few yrs ago an lost 2 an half stone in 2.5 months, so know it works for me.

I'm about 9st 7 but about 5ft nothing an slight so ANY flab shows.

I've had live yogurt this morning an planning on a chicken salad, an chicken curry later with brown poxy rice which I hate, but I have the prospect of a very glamourous gay friends wedding coming up so need to look my best!

greenfig · 05/03/2012 11:59

have been trying to google the harcombe diet with little success, got any links? shiney am kinda dukaning but obv not strictly enough, haven't quite got back 'in the zone'. Am wondering about the ZH for a change (doesn't sound much fun though!)Grin
Nothing like a gay wedding to motivate the weight loss!

www.theharcombedietclub.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?2-Phase1

Here's the forum for it, I have the book which explains a lot. But the basics are
Phase 1- only eat meat, fish, all veg, butter, natural live yogurt, 50g of dry rice or porridge. You can also use coconut block or milk for curries etc and any herbs spices. Decaff tea and coffee. No potatoes or mushrooms.
Phase 2- don't eat carbs with fats or meat. But there's more to it than that obviously!

Apparently it's going to be very glam, I can't wait!

I've tried the dukan, lost half a stone in what seemed like 5 mins but couldn't keep it up. Those gallette things were nearly the end of me!

Hmmm I wouldn't say it's low carb, apart from the first 5 days, but there's no crap carbs involved iykwim. Usual menu for phase 1 would be
Breakfast- bowl porridge made with water but I used to chuck some coconut milk in.
Lunch- chicken salad olive oil and lemon, tub of live yogurt.
Tea- chicken or beef curry, made with veg coconut milk and spices. Cauliflower 'rice'- cauliflower grated and fried in butter with seasoning. Or just heated up in micro.
Snacks - live yogurt in the night.

Phase 2 can be as low carb as you want it, i.e not very. You just have to keep fats and meat separate from carbs. So only have pasta with tomato sauce and no cheese on it etc, and a low fat yogurt for desert.

Everlong - just used the lovely boots scale which shouts out it's weighing and measuring you. And I'm 5ft 2 and 9st 6, so nearly the same! If I say what I weigh, people ask why the hell do you want to lose weight, but when you're small every bloody pound shows doesn't it, I know 4lb makes a visible physical difference to me and my clothes.

Can I join too I need to drop 5lbs which are being very resistant. I'm veggie, trying to go low carb, my weakness is wine....I try to stay off till the weekend but it's tough.

shinecrazydiamond · 05/03/2012 12:43

I have just completed day 5 of the Zoe Harcombe and lost half a stone... this AMAZED me as , although overweight, I am not hugely overweight, iyswim... I cannot deny that it was really tough... and more so because I am a vegetarian. I am now going to continue for another 5 days but add in berries, quorn and feta/goats cheese.

shinecrazydiamond · 05/03/2012 12:44

Welcome jubilation... If you do Zoe Harcombe for 5 days as I have done you will have lost those 5lbs by the weekend. < you will also have lost the will to live but only you can decide if that's worth it Grin >
