Having a terrible wk diet wise, ummm I seem to be saying that alot. Maybe i'll focus on lent and give up the crap high calorie stuff. Does lent start on Wednesday? Does it end on Easter Sunday, is that what the chocolate eggs r for?

Flojo1979 · 20/02/2012 21:28

And welcome kelly

Hope you and DS r ok faz

SparkySparrow · 20/02/2012 21:31

Welcome kelly

I have just had a banoffee pie Blush
Best work it off tomorrow!

Fairenuff · 20/02/2012 22:02

Flojo how can you be having a terrible week if it's only Monday? Grin

Yes, Lent starts on Wednesday and goes right through til Easter Sunday as far as I am aware but that doesn't mean you can eat chocolate

Actually, if we can stick to our diets for 30 days I think we deserve all the chocolate we can eat on Easter Sunday Grin.

Hello kelly and welcome. I did the same as you, lost 2 stone at ww and put it all back on (and more). Why do so many of us do that I wonder? Confused

How are you getting on TP?

SparkySparrow · 20/02/2012 22:10

Iv'e just realised I am meant to weigh in today Confused , can't believe I forgot! Don't want to do it now, had dinner and the stupid bloody lovely pie!

OP posts:
BelinaTheChicken · 21/02/2012 07:43

Was doing really well for yesterday, but I have a course on Monday evenings from 6-9 so I miss dinner, and ended up eating one of those ridiculously fatty and sugary flapjacks, then got home and DH had ordered a Chinese. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of dieting!

Going to make a vat of soup so I'll have that for lunch every day this week.

Also having a bit of a scales dilemma, have been weighing myself mainly at my parents house as my scales had run out of batteries and I was too lazy to get new ones. Got them sorted now, and my scales weigh me 5lbs lighter than my mum's... Who do I believe? Can storing scales on their side kill them? Would love to believe my scales but not entirely convinced!

SparkySparrow · 21/02/2012 09:35

Wi this morning instead. Another 1lb gone :) . And all the other numbers (BMI,Body Fat% etc) have gone down sightly so I am happy!

That's 4lb in 3 weeks to get to my mini goal!

Belina I'm glad i'm not the only one who has had trouble with scales! You lucky moo!! Mine new ones showed up 4lbs heavier! I had to buy some more because I couldn't get out my head the difference , these one's are evil due to too much info show up the same as my original ones. In your case I'd keep them (what I would do! Grin ) , go back to weighing at your mums, or set them forward 5lbs.

In the case of your dh slap him tell him if he wants to eat crap to go and do it somewhere else !! Grin

OP posts:
BelinaTheChicken · 21/02/2012 11:15

4lb in three weeks is totally doable, well done so far!

Not sure if I can set them forward? Will get DH to look for me, they are a bit technical, used to be able to use body fat monitor bit, but can't work it out now

Might get weighed at boots to see which one is telling the truth, would really like it to be mine

Flojo1979 · 21/02/2012 12:54

Well I'm off work this wk, diff half term than my ds school so a whole wk to myself, loads of gym classes booked........then got a phone call half an hr after I dropped dd at nursery, can I pick her up she's covered in chicken pox, grrr.
All wk, stuck in, near the kitchen, help!

kelly2525 · 21/02/2012 15:54

Well I jumped on the scales today, and got a shock. Ive done ww, now I`m just going to count calories, no banned foods, just less of them, especially areo orange bubbles!

Starting today, its 1350 calories a day, wish me luck, or willpower!

Fairenuff · 21/02/2012 16:29

That certainly sounds doable Kelly Smile. I am trying to stick to 1000 cals a day then if something unexpected crops up and I go a little over, it doesn't matter.

Back to pilates for me this evening. Haven't been for a few weeks due to illness (first mine, then instructor's) so hope I don't find it too hard.

Belina how long have you been dieting? You could lose 5lbs in a week if it's at the start of your diet. I would definately be tempted to keep the scales and go by the new weight Grin.

BelinaTheChicken · 21/02/2012 17:39

Fairenuff definitely not long enough to lose 5lb, and it was less than a week. Plus I have not been good this week! 1000 calories, you're brave! Not sure what calorie limit I should aim at, DS2 is still feeding, starting on solids but hardly taking anything yet, so pretty much ebf, so don't want to go too low, but also want to lose lb. Is 1500 ok do you think?

Fairenuff · 21/02/2012 17:46

Belina have a look at this site www.foodfocus.co.uk

It can help you decide how many calories to go for depending on how much you want to lose and how quickly. You can also track what you eat and discover your eating patterns.

mrspepperpotty · 21/02/2012 18:08

Hi Belina and kelly

Well done on the weight loss Vicky, fairenuff and Sparky, you're all doing really well!

Good luck with the chicken pox flojo, hope your DD doesn't have it too badly. My 3 DCs all had it at the same time last May - I had the week from hell! How's your DS faz?

Sparky I'm going skiing whoop whoop!

We had our pancakes last night as the DCs have tennis after school on Tues so it's a bit of a rush. I only had one, with lemon and sugar, so could have been worse. Am planning to give up chocolate, crisps, cake and biscuits for lent (have been having small amounts of all of them up till now and still hoping to lose weight as I am an optimist!).

fazsaeed · 21/02/2012 20:13

ds the same...
up+down
we could be here for 3/4 weeks :l

well done once again to everyone whose lost weight

p.s
im here with a big mug of tea and a pack of biscuit cookies Wink

SparkySparrow · 21/02/2012 20:49

Oh no faz I hope they get it sorted in the end!

mrspp Envy I could sooo do with a holiday! Was it Cup that was going skiing as well? Wonder if she will find us when she's back?

kelly 1350cals sounds very sensible and doable to me! Good luck!

Flojo Bad luck with the chicken pox :( Stock up on aqueous cream and Piriton (I think Confused ) Ds had it last year, quite glad tbh that its out the way!

So I had pancakes...with chocolate buttons Confused I also ended up eating ds because he didn't want it Hmm . Although feel suitably sick now and haven't eaten anything else. Not doing to well this week! Must, must get back on track!

kelly2525 · 21/02/2012 23:08

Well thats day 1 out of the way, 1400 calories consumed, and one massive frigging headache due to lack of caffeine, I have at least two cokes a day and one bar of chocolate, so I`m withdrawing, thats my excuse for being a grumpy cow anyway!

mrspepperpotty · 22/02/2012 07:39

Well done on getting started kelly.

Weigh in this morning, I've lost 1lb - yay!

putyourhatonsweetie · 22/02/2012 08:06

hi everyone, just checking is as having week from hell a bit of a busy week with one thing and another. sounds like plenty of losing going on. well done. will check back when I have a bit more time to read properly.

SparkySparrow · 22/02/2012 09:25

Well done mrepp

kelly I had terrible headaches when I started. Its horrible, but hang in there, because when they go you feel great! Drink tons and tons of water!

OP posts:
kelly2525 · 22/02/2012 12:03

Sparky Im used to the caffeine withdrawl, Im a serial dieter, I can lose 2 stone easily, but then I give up.

Im a typical yoyo dieter, have been since the age of 11, 25 long sodding years of yoyoing!

And to all those people who say the baby weight drops off when you`re running around after a toddler need a slap, it doesnt!!!!!

SparkySparrow · 22/02/2012 13:04

I agree kelly ! If that were the case I'd be a bloody size 8 after the amount of running around after ds I do! I never got back to my pre-baby weight Blush got within 1/2 a stone once and then life turned upside down and I put it all back on plus more.

Do it slowly and then the weight has more of a chance to stay off!

OP posts:
Vicky08 · 22/02/2012 17:25

Faz I hope your DS is Ok and they're getting him sorted.

Well done fairenuff and Sparky

Fairnuff the next time I'm at the supermarket I'll compare the different hot chocs to see the difference. I quite like highlights though, I think it's because it's so sweet and I have such a sweet tooth :)

Yesterday I had some pancakes and nutella Blush Thay were lovely :) But after I felt so bloated and guilty.

Today I had a banana for breakfast, paella for lunch and baked fish is on the menu for dinner. Going to put it on now.

While making dinner I'm going to think what i can give up for lent: biscuits, chocolate and sweets I think what be a good start.

weenwee · 22/02/2012 23:15

Oooh, excited to find this place!

I'm 273 lbs (124 kilos!)
Have a crapton of weight to lose, and
I've just been accepted as a performer in the closing ceremonies for the Olympics.

OH HAI THAR PRESSURE, HOW U DOIN?

Fatty Goes to the Olympics

Are there any specific plans people are trying? I'm doing a modified Paleo, and day one was pretty rough.

Flojo1979 · 22/02/2012 23:20

I'm giving up biscuits and chocolate and bread. I'll eat wraps n trumpets etc but no proper bread as that's a major weakness and when I buy a loaf I get the compulsion that its gonna go off so i need to eat it quick.
Day 1 of lent - not been a great day, Dd (3) been hardwork, she won't sit still, won't watch telly, won't engage in an activity, just whinges for food all the time and when u r stuck in all day its hard work trying to distract her and hold her attention for more than 30 seconds.
If anyone has any ideas pls help!
