If your dd has come out in spots shes not contagous anymore, so go out for a walk if shrs feeling up to it. I would just stay away from places where there will be loads of people mainly to avoid the Hmm looks. Take her for a welly walk round some fields or something, fo bug hunting etc. Ds and i had quite a collection of creepys when he had spots Grin
just do amything that involves abit of freash air. it will do u both the world of good!

Sorry for spellings. am on phone and cant be arsed with checking sp and punctiation.

Flojo piriton worked a treat with mine gave it 4-6 times a day . Contagious until 5 dep. of health (really6) days after spots appear. Park and walks ok though.
Lent does not include the Sundays upto Easter but I think that just complicates things . Still not been on the wii to get weight. Given up the usual biscuits choc and alcohol except for tomorrow and weekend. Birthday celebrations me .
The thread is moving fast keep it up all

Thanks, SparkySparrow! Glad to be here.

Flojo1979 · 23/02/2012 11:54

Hi, thanx for the advice, it was raining all yesterday so didn't get chance to go out, tho dd did play in back yard for about 10 mins in wellies n rain coat!
Chemist didn't really mention piriton, tho the drowsy aspect is somewhat appealing
She doesn't seem too irritated by the spots so can't really justify it!

BelinaTheChicken · 23/02/2012 15:03

Flojo the drowsy side effect is amazing, DS1 had it at the beginning of the Summer, piriton was great, he barely scratched and slept like an angel for the first time in his life but I suppose its not necessary if she's not bothered by the spots. Shame!

Fairenuff I went on that website and it says I can eat 1869 a day, and it didn't even take into account that I am bf... I'm thinking it will take a long loooong time to lose weight eating that every day! Just a bit worried about affecting my milk supply by going too low

On the plus side I have lost 2lb, even when using DM's scales, hurrah! And DSis is coming round for dinner and bringing sushi and helping put the boys to bed, so I get to put my feet up a bit this afternoon as I have a stinking cold and feel like shite

Fairenuff · 23/02/2012 18:31

Belina would that give you the maximum 2lb a week that they allow? If so then there's no reason why you shouldn't have 1800 odd calories. You will need to check back as you lose weight because you might need to reduce then.

If you make sure most of what you eat is of good nutritious value (so no empty calories, like alcohol, crisps, etc.) then it shouldn't affect bf.

Hello weenwee I haven't heard of the plan you're on. Does it involve specific foods? What about exercise, are you planning on hitting the gym or what Grin.

Well done mrspp, I can't believe how quickly these weigh ins come around now.

Think I'm getting into the swing of things, I didn't have any pancakes and I haven't had any cake at all in 7 weeks Shock.

Vicky08 · 23/02/2012 20:11

Well done Mrs pepperpotty.

Welcome weenwee

Everyone's doing so well keep it up.

I've had a good day but feeling myself starting to slip into old habits again re bread and sugary things. Will have to rethink things a bit, especially what I eat in the evenings because at the moment that's when I'm eating most carbs.

Vicky08 · 23/02/2012 20:11

Fairenuff no cake in seven weeks is impressive :)

SparkySparrow · 23/02/2012 21:46

Good and bad day over here.

Bad - I feel ill. Headaches and sore throat. Good (not ideal) - All I've managed to eat is a jacket pot with tuna.
Lots and lots of water!

Bloody hell Fairenuff that is good going!

OP posts:
Fairenuff · 23/02/2012 22:49

And, I've only had 4 glasses of wine in 7 weeks Shock! I really am so determined to really do it this year. Get it off and keep it off, that's my mantra Smile. Don't lose the motivation girls, we can do it.

Actually, one of the biggest differences for me this time is that I allow myself to feel a little bit hungry and I just think to myself, it's ok to feel hungry. It seems weird but before I would always 'top up' inbetween meals and I was hardly ever hungry. I would constantly pick through the day and in the evenings, but eat my meals as well because, well, it was mealtime. Now I eat when I'm hungry and not before.

Anyone else got any top tips to share?

BelinaTheChicken · 24/02/2012 09:50

Fairenuff I didn't sign up, I just did the quick one, but have joined my fitness pal which says I should eat 1350 to lose 2lb a weeks, which sounds more reasonable. And 7 weeks without cake is amazing! I don't think I've even managed 7 days over the last few months Sad

Diet is suspended for one day as tonight DH and I are staying in a posh hotel and having dinner and breakfast there (my parents got it for him for his 30th, and this is the first night we've had off together in about 2 months) guessing I'll be going just slightly over my limit there... And there will be wine involved as DM has DS2 and he'll be on the formula tonight (nutramigen, poor thing!) so I'm making the most of it. Will be the last blow out before cousin's weddin in June though, only doing it cos it was booked ages ago excuses excuses

Not that I'm currently he best for diet tops at the moment, but I've been eating really slowly and having a sip of water between each mouthful. Also if I feel an urge to have something sweet in the evening I go and brush my teeth, then I normally don't want anything after that.

putyourhatonsweetie · 24/02/2012 11:16

Hope you have a really lovely time Belina.

Thanks for the motivation fairenuff, you are doing brilliantly.

Welcome weenwee, will check out the blog when i get a chance, mmm jellybeans, no chance of a carrot stick background?

How is your dd flojo? and ds faz?

Having done so incredibly well over the last few weeks I can really feel myself starting to slip. Haven't actually fallen off the wagon yet. But not feeling it with my usual zeal. It has been a horrible couple of weeks, largely due to deep and raw homesickness, urgh. need my mojo back quicksmart before I sink into the cheese on toast.

SparkySparrow · 24/02/2012 12:57

weenwee I didn't realise you had a blog. Stupid phone doesn't show links, will give that a read later!

Belina 1350 sounds about right I think. make sure you use your cals wisely, and have a great time away! And yay! Someone else who does the brush youe teeth trick!

Hope you feel better soon puyyourhaton Hang in there your doing so well!

I second what Fairenuff says about being hungry. It sounds strange but when you feel that emptiness, it actually feels really good 100 times better than being full imo, make sure your stomach is rumbling at dinner times so you really appreciate what you eat. Don't stuff yourself!

As for evenings's (although works any time of day), make a fruit salad bowl (big one) in the day time. Chuck any thing you have in it. Then whenever you feel a bit picky or fancy something sweet, just grab a bowl. Nice, quick and yum!

Flojo1979 · 24/02/2012 13:00

Put the cheese back in the fridge, now step away from the kitchen putyourhaton :)
Your doing so well dont bugger it up now!

Dd is fine thanx, lots of red spots and loads off nursery with chicken pox so it must be that, but not really like blisters, just red dots, she can't go back 'til they scab over' but theres nothing there to actually scab :S

SparkySparrow · 24/02/2012 13:04

Ds was like that Flojo . He only had 2 that were actually oozing gross . Just check her after the weekend, if they are still just dots with no pus then send her back to nursery. They have seen it a 100 times before. You can't keep them off till they al disappear, would be weeks.

My neighbours ds has the same, he's at the same nursery as my ds (but in another room). You may be close by! Hmm Grin

BelinaTheChicken · 24/02/2012 13:29

The teeth thing really works, everyone should do it! Plus you get sparkly teeth. Chewing gum or strong mints is an alternative when you're out, not quite as good but better than nothing. Another one is to have a hot drink if you think you're hungry when it's not a meal time, warm drinks fill you up more and you're often just thirsty anyway.

Have eaten a v small bowl of porridge for breakfast and a bowl of soup for lunch, which leaves me over 1000 for dinner... Will probably be able to stick to it food wise if I'm careful, but think I may go waaaay over with wine cos it's the first time DH and I have really been able to have a drink together since DS2 was born

Happy Friday everyone!

TalkinPeace2 · 24/02/2012 13:39

Hi All,
Just checking back in. Not much weight lost. Well damn near bugger all actually. But I'm now 4 pounds lighter than my Shock weight
and am drinking much much less and not oozing over my jeans as much.
DH starts working away lots from next week which means I can get away with smaller suppers.
And I've started having a large glass of milk with my teeny lunch as it helps me feel full for longer.

Good to see everybody still here, and new people joining in.
No faddy diets, just permanent lifestyle changes.

weenwee · 24/02/2012 16:11

Thank you all for the lovely welcome. Yes, I've just put a new entry up on my blog, giving an intro of what Paleo is and such. Here you go!

Fatty Goes to the Olympics

(And I thought about changing the jellybeans, but I think I'm just being cruel to myself now). ;)

Flojo1979 · 24/02/2012 19:14

Ah just caught up weenwee as I missed your last post hiding at end of last page. Xposted.
How exciting! So what is it u r actually doing at Olympics ?
That diet seems very restrictive, seems to cut out all the nice flavours and foods that have evolved. I can imagine it works in the short term tho.

Soooo hungry!

I'm ooooop north sparky

putyourhatonsweetie · 24/02/2012 23:56

Thnaks - worked last night and avoided the cheese on toast Smile, have put some trousers ontoday that there is no way I'll be able to wear if I get fat again, hopefully that will keep me on the straight and narrow today!
