I started slimming world this past thursday (9th feb) im very overweight and was slightly horrified that i was the weight i was... i have two boys, 3 and 20months, and after second ds i lost loads of weight, starting at 19stone 3lbs i lost just under 4 stone and was feeling really good about myself, i then stopped going and had an awful year of ups and downs (something for another thread!) and piled it all back on.
Im mortified that i let it happen after working so hard to get it off!
This time round through im really determind to get the weight off, im getting married in August and i have bought a beautiful dress (monsoon) size 14 though so i NEED to start working towards it.

Some facts:
Age: 25 (26 in 3 weeks!)
Hight: 5ft 5"
Weight: 19stone 2lbs (sob)
Chest: 47"
waist: 43"
hips: 57"
Size: 20 (although im probably more, i just squeeze into my old clothes or don't do the buttons up!)

if there is anyone out there who is of a similar size and wants to have a friend who they can be really open, honest and support then i'm here!
It's so much easier when you have someone to talk to. i'm too embarrassed to tell my friends / family how big i am (although i know they can see it!) so i just hope im not alone in this! :)

Just done 2.5 hours of Rosemary Conley (I got a box set of three that was on offer) and it was really enjoyable. Worked up a sweat without being too strenuous. I did cardio and toning sections. I feel chuffed with myself.

I have stopped buying cakes and sweets and instead have told my children they can have some money to buy them once a week. I am finding that this is really helpful. Met with a bit of resistance at first mind!

Is anyone else here doing it on their own/ via the mag?

Kellamity · 29/02/2012 12:53

Back from class today! Lost 2lb which would normally be ok but it was my first week so I expected a bigger loss but then I have been eating those Uncle Ben's rice pots for lunch thinking I was being good! Still feel motivated though - going to think about some exercise this week to move things along.

Kellamity · 29/02/2012 12:54

2.5 hours Shock - respect!

ledkr · 29/02/2012 12:59

queen im doing it just from the old kit and i bought an up to date book from e bay.I cant be doing those groups to be honest, round here its all people i know from the village and it felt a bit exposed discussing my weight,i havent got the time either really,i was not staying to class just getting weighed cos i had the baby with me.
I lost none the first week so id have killed for a 2lb loss,i was getting thesyns wrong.Hope to be more sucessfull this week though.

Are you adding the rice and the sauce as they are being counted separately which is silly as you buy the thing as a whole.

Kellamity · 29/02/2012 13:32

Just checked online - they are showing the rice first and then the sauce underneath you need to add both together Angry

QueenCess · 29/02/2012 14:11

For me it was worth going to pick up the info, but the class didn't motivate me at all. I don't like attention and the clapping thing went beyond my cringe limit.

I found that I crave biscuits etc ALL DAY if I overstep the carb mark. My insulin goes nuts. How do you find red days thejoyfulpuddlejumper?

ledkr that's a killer when it doesn't budge. How are you doing today?

QueenCess · 29/02/2012 14:12

Kellamity that is so annoying.....do you think it has had a detrimental effect?

Kellamity · 29/02/2012 14:19

Well Queen I only lost alb in my first week which is good but not great! I'm not saying I've been 100% but I stuck to the plan most of the time. As for peeing for England - oh yes!!!

ledkr · 29/02/2012 18:16

Im doing ok,but ive got this nagging doubt that its not going to work for me,i did it before with little sucess but did cheat,i am not now so am hoping im a slow starter.
Im peeing a lot but i drink so much tea its hardly surprising Grin
I need to excercise really,i do a bit a home and walk a lot but i used to be in the gym regularly before baby. She gets up at 6 so im always very tired these days.
Im in Brum Sat for my mates birthday so lots of exercise (dancing) but unfortunately lots of vodka too. Not ending my life though over a dress size and 2 stone, ill just pick it up again the next day.

lisad123 · 29/02/2012 20:19

I have lost another 1lb
Im a little naffed that im slowing to 1lb a week atm. Need to get back in the gym, and know it will also be easier in the spring, as cold weather means i dont fancy salads.
Off for a weekend with some girlie friends on friday, hoping i dont gain, but knw i might Confused

carernotasaint · 29/02/2012 21:56

Update started at class again tonight and at 16 stone 7 im a few pounds lighter than i thought but i have a new problem.
There was a woman who went to class at same time as me years ago and would say things to me like "you should be ten and a half stone" it was one of the reasons i stopped going.
Lo and behold and coincidence of coinsidences shes come back as well.
As we were leaving shes at it already.
Now im happy with a 2 to 3 pound weight loss in first week and anything else is a bonus
but she said to me "oh you should lose at least 8 pounds in your first week.
In my opinion 3 would be nice and 5 would be fantastic.
Years ago she used to say stuff like "oh you should be ten and a half stone" when i had already got from 21 stone down to 11 stone and was perfectly happy with that.
What the fuck is she on?

FriendofDorothy · 29/02/2012 22:29

Tell her to fuck right on and get on and do your own stuff.

FriendofDorothy · 29/02/2012 22:29

fuck off I mean

Rectorymum · 01/03/2012 00:13

Can I join too? Three children, fed up of looking in the mirror at size 20, and joining sw tomorrow. Here's hoping for a new me for the summer..... Rectorymum.

Queenses bloody hell, dont think i could of done 2.5hrs of exercise without collapsing! Well done you.

Kellamity and Lisa123 well done on your losses.

I have a really bad habbit of weighing myself almost daily (i cannot help it!) and yesterday i was down a lb and now im back the same Angry so not going to weigh myself till sat morning, really want to be under the 14st mark this week as i think it will give me a wee boost.

im running 3 x per week and im going to shred 3 x per week too from monday when i get shred back off SIL as i have a few partys/nightsout/weekend away etc in the next 2 months and want to look nice and slim and toned (dont we all).

Today im having yogurt and fruit for breakfast, possibly an omlete for lunch and no idea for dinner as need to go shopping, then running this evening.

Jakadaal · 01/03/2012 11:41

All this exercise putting me to shame so dog lead (and dog) in hand am heading off any minute. I have always struggled with breakfasts and tended not to eat til 1pm in the day and tbh it was just a really bad habit I have got into. But today I have had bacon, egg, beans, tomato and WW bread - I love SW!

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 01/03/2012 16:10

Jakadaal that sounds lovey, im craving bread but as i gave it up for lent i have a long time to wait untill i get some! hope yoy enjoyed your dog walk.

I ended up not eating so good today breakfast was 6 ryvita wholegain with cottage cheese as my HB and a banana, for lunch i had a few slices of ham and a yogurt and a mouthfull of the egg fried rice and sweet chilli stir fry i have made for later, so not much but i was trying to avoid anything heavy for lunch as running at 5pm dont want to be too full for run! So i have had another banana to kep me going.

slimminwoman · 04/03/2012 20:56

brafullofcrumbs · 04/03/2012 22:44

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 05/03/2012 07:56

Hi all, well done slimmin thats a great loss!

Can either of you help me please? I have another thread in this topic regarding the fact that i put on 1.5lb in a week when i stuck to the plan to a frigging t, and exercised too so im uber pissed off as dont no where i went wrong, can any of you help?

I posted my food diary for the week on my other thread titled "slimming world veterans help needed" or something to that effect!

Much appeciated (also i pigged out sat night and all say yest! soooo bed i know :( it will not help next week)

slimminwoman · 05/03/2012 11:48

thanks MadeInScotland I had yr problem a few wks ago when i started Zumba, I stayed the same one wk and the next wk only lost half pound it was very bloody annoying so I asked the zumba teacher why would that be and she said might not be losing as quick cos fat turning to muscle! so i just stuck at sw and exercise and its started to even out. But havin said all that even thou it didnt show on the scales my dh noticed it off all around my tum and bum which is where i really need to shift it, so stick at it and it'll even out in the endWink.
