I started slimming world this past thursday (9th feb) im very overweight and was slightly horrified that i was the weight i was... i have two boys, 3 and 20months, and after second ds i lost loads of weight, starting at 19stone 3lbs i lost just under 4 stone and was feeling really good about myself, i then stopped going and had an awful year of ups and downs (something for another thread!) and piled it all back on.
Im mortified that i let it happen after working so hard to get it off!
This time round through im really determind to get the weight off, im getting married in August and i have bought a beautiful dress (monsoon) size 14 though so i NEED to start working towards it.

Some facts:
Age: 25 (26 in 3 weeks!)
Hight: 5ft 5"
Weight: 19stone 2lbs (sob)
Chest: 47"
waist: 43"
hips: 57"
Size: 20 (although im probably more, i just squeeze into my old clothes or don't do the buttons up!)

if there is anyone out there who is of a similar size and wants to have a friend who they can be really open, honest and support then i'm here!
It's so much easier when you have someone to talk to. i'm too embarrassed to tell my friends / family how big i am (although i know they can see it!) so i just hope im not alone in this! :)

I cook at home and use3 pasta and sauces for work days. I am having a jacket spud for lunch cos im pastad out and dont want to have bread.

A salad is nice for work with some ham and potatoes and a from frais dressing. I laways have a special k cereal bar mid morning at work when everyone els is on the biscuits.

newpup · 22/02/2012 13:39

I have baked pots alot for lunch with beans or tuna just because they fill me up! I like omelette too packed with peppers and toms, sometimes use syns for cheese, sometimes not.

I also like pasta salad, free soup with a wholemeal roll, tuna, egg and pot salad. If I am in a real rush I will have a mug shot and fruit.

I try and eat a piece of fruit every lunch but do not always manage it. I often have a Shape Natural Fat free yoghurt.

Was shocked to learn that Uncle Bens Rice Time Pots which were free on exra easy are now 8 syns (they changed the recipe! Angry)

Well done! I got roped into doing the scan bran challenge. I can officially declare, life is too short to eat scan bran!!

ledkr · 23/02/2012 13:47

Struggled abit today as at home with whingey baby. Had boiled eggs and hobbit toast for brekkie then a banana. Was so tempted by a hot cross bun then looked up the syns and was 8.5 and decided id prefer my frozen curly wurly later instead. Ate a vile pasta and sauce chicken and mushroom for lunch and am going to have some fruit in a bit.
I can feel the boredom setting in after only 4 days im not weighing until Monday so i hope that will spur me on.
Think i need to go shopping for some inspiration.
At least i have a nice tea tonight, pork stir fry and rice.
Shall we start to swap food ideas.
I made morocon lamb last night. Lean lamb, onions, garlic, tomatoe passata, yellow pepper and chick peas all slow cooked in a tagine with some morrocon spices (pre bought) cous cous and green beans. Very nice.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 23/02/2012 19:00

just wrote an long thread and it went poof when mn went off line! Not impressed and at the mo cant be bothered to write so will come back after i sorted for the night.

ledkr · 23/02/2012 19:44

haha that happens to me a lot.

Can i have some praise please.I resisted hot cross buns twice today and then doughnuts at my sisters whilst everyone ate them. I have sure earned my curly wurly later while i watch the walking dead.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 23/02/2012 20:25

Well done on resisting the hotcross bun and dounuts (i also resisted dounuts today as i bought some for the kids for after dinner as they had a friend for tea) ledkr.

Well i had mediteranean chicken (one of those bags you put in the oven and add the flavour and shake) with chicken breast, peppers, red onion and diced potato and i believe the chicken was syn free? hope it was anway, with mash 4.5 synns as i used butter and not low fat spread left and sweetcorn.

My favourite recipe at the minute is mini frittatas - spray a 6 hole muffin tin with frylight and fill with cooked small diced potato, cooked peppers and red onion and mushrooms and top up with 3 beaten eggs in a jug with a splash of milk and seasoning and mixed herbs and they are delish, hot or cold.

my lunches are usually home made chunky syn free soup like ministrone and piece of fruit or a baked pot, dinners are harder as i have to cook for all the family as i dont do seperate meals but try to adapt so will be looking out for ideas.

ledkr · 23/02/2012 20:43

We had a stir fry and plenty of rice it was delicious and very filling.

Does anyone find it hard to believe it will work?I seem to be eatin a fair amount for someone on a diet but am below syns every day. I have tried and failed too many times this year it will be so nice to lose some weight and feel motivated to carry on.

puddler It is expensive yes.I realised today i need to stock up on fruit and veg,i only went shopping last Sat. I take the opinion we must have ben spending a lot on crap food to get fat in the first place though.
The weekend should prove to be "interesting" to me it usually means nice brekkies dinners with wine and chocolate and general piggyness. Am going to try and keep busy instead maybe do some shredding and start c25k.May have to do it with the buggy though as dh is working.
Happy starving everyone Grin

newpup · 24/02/2012 10:57

I found weekends hard at first too! It took some getting used to as fri used to be the start of a weekend of food! Take - away Indian with wine, toast and butter Sat am, lots of garlic bread, chips general high cal stuff and lots of wine! Blush.

I am fine now but it took a while to enjoy weekend evenings without being a piggy!

newpup · 24/02/2012 10:58

Forgot to say Well done on the hot cross buns and doughnuts ledkr.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 24/02/2012 11:04

I should add, i get around weekends by weighing in on a sat morning and having a sat night off as its only 1 night i can have a take away or pizza and not worry and maybe a couple of glasses of wine and get straight back on it oon a sunday as i go for a run on a sun lunch time and dont like to run after eating crap. It maybe cheating and might not work for some but it gives me something to look forward to .

thejoy I feel the same as you,im even tempted to not weigh for another week. Im eating good meals but bigish but its the lack of crap in between that works i think.
It was strange in sainsbos not buying my weekend supplies but i did it. Have some choc for tomorrow but no wine.

Oh i know that feeling.Ive just gone back to work after a years mat leave, last 3 months unpaid. It was torture.
I went to sainsbos today and stocked up on fruit and veg and other sw essentials,it was 32 quid! Its not cheap being thin but at least i have a new wardrobe of clothes to wear after a stone or 2.

I made a massive mistake and weighted today and had lost nothing.I started last Mon and havent cheated.Veterans please advise. Im 185 pounds so not got loads to lose.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 26/02/2012 08:00

well done on your loss puddle thats great esp since its only been sice monday.

ledkr im no expert by anymeans but when did you weigh in? as i think time of day effects it eg after eating etc so i always weigh in in the morning in pjs as they are all prob same weight and i have not eaten.

Or are you eating enought? eg are you having your healthy extras a and b, and making sure you have breakfast lunch and dinner? as im sure you have to eat to lose weight? If you are doing all these things anyway then im not sure i would just hold on untill Monday, and good luck.

I had a very very flexi synn day yesterday as away for the day but def back on track and very determined today, will be off for a run later and prob will have fruit for breakfast and a yogurt.

Also forgot to say im doing it from home as at our class that i went to before xmas i find very patronising and a bit culty! and i abbohr telling the whole frigging class how much you have are havent lost and exactly why and what you aim to do better etc, but thats just me.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 26/02/2012 08:12

Also could someone check the syns of Morrisons value low fat yogurts please, i checked minimins but no joy. thanks.
