The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

movingonwardsorsidewards · 15/02/2012 16:04

Kinky - thanks for sharing your secret Smile makes me feel better about even considering ww. What was your starting weight? And how much have u lost so far?

At the moment I am using my fitness pal which gives me 1200 cals per day and extra if I exercise.

ExcitedElectrons · 15/02/2012 16:14

OK PMKenners, I need some help especially with the snacking - main meals I can handle the 4 rules perfectly. But if were to eat, say, 1 apple would you only eat as much as the apple as you can until you felt full? I mean, what if that's only 2 bits and you'll then have to chuck out nearly a whole apple. Say you were eating a chocolate bar and two bites made you full, would you really just stop eating the whole bar and chuck it/put it back in the fridge? What about eating a slice of chocolate cake? Do you only cut off the thinnest piece just in case you get full after two bites and don't have to chuck a perfect piece of chocolate cake away? What about snacking on grapes?

Sorry for all the questions but it has been bugging me!

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 15/02/2012 20:05

Hello all. I'm back on the waggon. Dragged myself to the gym tonight and left half my tea. Can't wait for my book to be delivered. I really need to read it again!
electrons I take stuff like raisins, carrots, cucumber sticks in pots so I can nibble if I want but stop when my hunger is satisfied. I love scones...before I used to eat two in one go, now I eat half of one, or even slice it and then chop it in 1/4, eat it and then see if I want any more. So yes, have a bit of chocolate or cake and then see. If you follow the rules, you'll be amazed to see that you really can just eat 2 bites of a chocolate bar when you give yourself permission.

LotsOfGoodFunThatIsFunny · 15/02/2012 21:17

electrons I don't normally snack between meals now as I'm just not hungry. I would imagine if you waited until you were properly hungry it would take more than that to fill you up. Some people have found that food they used to love just isn't as nice eaten slowly.

I lost nearly 2lb in the first fortnight which isn't as much as if I were doing WW or SW but I have eaten what I want including aero puddings, lots of cheese and hot chocolate.

KinkyDorito · 15/02/2012 21:20

moving 17lbs and just finishing my sixth week, although this week has been a dead loss as I've overeaten today (stressy, lots of issues Confused). I weighed 15st 3lbs and now am 14st (in fact, dipping below as of the weekend, but don't weigh in until Friday).

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/02/2012 21:44

Hello to all newbies :)

I am struggling this week. I've got a hideous cold, so have both boys so they aren't sleeping which is making me even worse. DS2 has dropped a couple of daytime BFs (good) which has led to oversupply and blocked ducts (bad). Blah blah, moan moan.
Sorry Blush

Electrons - tbh I wouldn't eat if I thought 2 bites of apple would fill me up, but I do eat half a scone, or a third of a bar of chocolate, or half a sandwich. I just put the rest in the fridge for later.
When I'm really in the zone with PMK I hardly snack, I just don't get hungry. I'm snacking a lot atm, but I've lost touch with my appetite with this cold.

Kinky - whatever works is what you should do :)

ExcitedElectrons · 15/02/2012 22:55

Ah great, that has helped a lot! Thank you everyone, sorry if I sounded stupid! I'm slowly getting there, it's just things like yoghurts - I find that I have to eat the whole pot as I don't want to waste it!

Thanks everyone!

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 15/02/2012 23:11

Do any of you do the mirror exercises? I really need to get back into doing them. When I was Pauling properly those exercises made me feel so good about my body I was actually getting worried I was feeling a bit conceited! Blush It was an amazing feeling and I want it back!

SoloSewsSeedsOfLoveInPatchwork · 15/02/2012 23:44

Just dropping in to say hello. I have the flu!! Dd had it first, then me (feeling a lot better than I did), then Ds...hoping Mum doesn't get it, but we are staying with her atm, so it's probable that she will :(

Kinky have quickly read through your saga :( ouch! so sorry.

Everyone else, keep up the good work and I'll be back properly soon.

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2012 08:49

Morning all Smile that's a shame to be ill on yr holyers Solo and Ali. There's nothing wrong with being conceited is there Mychild ? Much better than self hate IMO. Iam a bit conceited these days DH says I look fantastic !! Blush

Neenook · 16/02/2012 09:25

How much have you lost ppeat?

I weighed myself this morning and was 11st 5 Shock

Should be around 9 and a half so my guess of 2 stone to lose was about right.

Won't be weighing again for a fortnight!

rainbowinthesky · 16/02/2012 10:38

Can I ask how much people lose weekly or two weekly following this diet?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 16/02/2012 11:23

Morning all, I have retired to my sick bed - not been this poorly in ages! DH has brought me tea and taken the boys out.

Rainbow I think it varies a lot. I am losing about a pound a week atm, kinky is losing almost 3lbs a week!

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2012 12:32

Neenook welcome! Are you a newby? I've lost almost 3 stone I started at roughly 12 stone and I s'pose it's taken approx a year.

rainbow I hardly ever weigh I go by my clothes and I have dropped from nearly a 16 to an M&S 8 to 10 which suits me TBH a non - vanity 8 is too thin for me 'cos I'm older Smile.

Poor Ali but lucky you've got DH there to look out for the DCs! Have you tried echinacea?

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2012 12:42

Sorry rainbow welcome to you as well!

arfur · 16/02/2012 12:56

Hi everyone! Was here back at the time of the PM seminar and did really well but lost my dad and stepmum last year and have been dealing from the fallout from that culminating in finally cutting all ties with my mum last week. Soooooo I have decided there is nothing holding me back now all my 'issues' are in the past, I am drawing a line under it all and moving on! (Sorry needed to get that off my chest). Waves to pp - probably dont remember me but you have done brilliantly, well done! I found it really helpful posting on here before and getting other peoples take on it so pleeeease can I come back? Grin

Neenook · 16/02/2012 13:43

Hi ppeat yes I'm a Newbie

Currently I weigh more than i did when I have been pregnant Blush

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2012 14:37

AAAAAH ARFUR!!!!!! I'm sorry about yr. losses, but a great big welcome back and thanks for the kind words Thanks.

Neenook You've found the right thread!! don't worry it'll all melt away!! easily!!

ppeatfruit · 16/02/2012 14:59

Of course i remember you Arf and of course you're very welcome back on here; sorry not to read yr. post correctly first, it's almost a year since that seminar!!

BigBoobiedBertha · 16/02/2012 18:48

Hello!

I'm back from abroad and the PIL(N WalesSmile). Long drive today (feels like abroad!) so am knackered. I will catch up with you all tomorrow. Just wanted to mark my place before you all disappear off Threads I'm on and I have an excuse to slack some more.

KinkyDorito · 16/02/2012 18:54

I would like to say, Kinky was losing 3lbs a week Ali. I have fallen off the wagon big style.

Went to pics, ate popcorn, then TGI Friday (haven't been in there for years) oreo milkshake (nom nom nom nom nom), burger, fries, onion rings, coleslaw, one of DS' mozzerella sticks, tastes of DH's pudding. Definitely past the point of return on WW, didn't quite eat all the burger so felt a bit more PMK virtuous, although wasn't particularly hungry when started eating.

Feel a bit sick now, 5 hours later. On the plus side, will not be eating anything else.

My only issue is that I know I'm doing it because, in spite of saying I would leave it, I have kicked off a family crisis of epic proportions and I am stressing out.

FFS. I never learn.

arfur · 16/02/2012 19:41

Ah fanks pp sniff Smile Well just had my tea which was the first time ive eaten today as was not hungry at all till 6! Just goes to show how much ive been eating lately that it takes my poor body that long to process it Blush but onwards and upwards or rather downwards on the scales. I am definitely in the zone mentally - its good to be back x

arfur · 16/02/2012 19:43

Oh and also did the shred dvd with dd and dh tonight before tea as dh is on a mission to look good in his trunks on holiday, snigger!

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 16/02/2012 20:58

Howdy arfur, I'm phee.
kinky don't beat yourself up...you only had nibbles of dessert not a whole one to yourself and you are reminded of how rubbish you feel when you're full. And the family thing was always going to kick off!
Hurray my replacement book arrived! Started reading already, feel back in control. Been to the gym again tonight. I realised the eating went out the window when we couldn't use the table for a bit. Cannot do the Pauling eating in front of the tv on the sofa! Now I know :)
