The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

havealittlefaithbaby yes, it will be interesting to see how my appetite changes from day to day.
Rosylee your lunch sounds fab, you did really well. I'm out to lunch tomorrow and have been a bit anxious about sticking to the GR's, will update here. Although mine's a set meal, not a buffet. Those are so hard to deal with aren't they? (Well usually).

I've got TOM coming in a few days. Usually the week before I'm scoffing everything I can get my hands on. Especially chocolate. But I feel really in control..not deprived or even trying to deprive myself. I know I can have what I want, as long as I'm hungry, and that's taken so much pressure off. I've got a bar of chocolate and a packet of biscuits in the cupboard - untouched. Just like the vanilla slices, normally I get them home and they're eaten within about 10 minutes!

BigBoobiedBertha · 17/04/2012 16:18

Happy birthday Rosylee - glad you had a good time.Smile

HaveaLittleFaith - glad you are improving and feeling better. How long have you been off work now? It has been a long haul hasn't it?

I think I am a opposite to a lot of you as I wasn't surprised at how little I need to eat. Eating huge portions has never been my downfall because I am more of a grazer than inclined to stuff my face until I feel fit to burst. I can't eat large meals. I don't often have pudding and if we got out to dinner I would never have a starter, arguing that I would rather have a pudding and then when I get to it, I can't eat it. My downfall is that I can only eat a smallish meal but then I can start snacking again about an hour afterwards and keep up a steady stream for quite a while, leaving just long enough for some of the fullness to go but not waiting until I am properly hungry.

It is bad news because meals maybe balanced and nutritious but snacking never is. Blush

Still, at least we are all aware of our own weaknesses which I reckon is half the battle. If you don't know what you are doing wrong you can't put it right, can you?! Smile

Happy Birthday Rosy.

Don't worry about using the thread to muse - I've certainly done that in the past - and found it very helpful. And I've certainly gone through similar thought processes, like realising that I eat a bit too much "just in case I'm hungry later". I certainly find it helpful to read how this programme affects others.

Solo · 17/04/2012 17:40

Whoop! whoop!! internet back on Grin!!!
Rosy if you continue like today, the weight will fall off you; well done!
Back later...typing left handed and sideways as Dd has fallen asleep on my knee.

Yay! Solo's back.

I certainly should proofread my posts to check whether I've certainly overused the word certainly.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 17/04/2012 19:47

Hiya solo! Good to see you back :) dedicated typing Wink
Malory I find waiting for af the biggest challenge when Pauling so it sounds you're doing well!
BBB yes it has been - I believe I was admitted to hospital 4 weeks ago (tomorrow) and felt ill for a fortnight before that! I've been shopping for curtains and poles today which is something I've been gearing up for for quite some time. Blimey I hadn't realised how much it cost to replace everything - £400 for all of it! Starting to realise how many decisions we have to make to replace everything post-fire. Well at least I've got the curtains, had to start somewhere,

MintCakeMavis · 17/04/2012 19:56

Hi all, another one restarting here. I was Pauling early last year and lost 8lbs then got pregnant so disappeared :)

I want to come back now though because although DD is only 6wks, last time I used breast feeding as an excuse to be a pig and I want to get my relationship with good sorted for good.

Even when I'm not bf I've always split food into bad / junk / naughty food that can be used to treat myself with, or binge on so I can beat myself up over and then good / healthy / boring food.

So on day 2 and looking forward to posting in future.

BigBoobiedBertha · 17/04/2012 21:11

Ah Mintcake! We were talking about you down thread - I remembered somebody got pregnant but I couldn't remember a name. Have you changed yours or have you always been MintCake?

Congratulations on your new DD. You are v brave to do this now although I get why you want to. Lack of sleep messes with your appetite doesn't it? Well it does me anyway!! Smile

HaveALittleFaith - must be lovely to be able to replace everything and start with all new although I wouldn't want to go through what you have been through in order to do it. A lottery win would be far better. Hope things turned a corner for you now.

BigBoobiedBertha · 17/04/2012 21:13

Oh and ladies, we appear to be about to fall off the edge of this thread - it is nearly full.Shock

Anybody want to propose a title? Solo has been doing it of late but she might be incommunicado at crunch time. We need something welcoming as well as something that lets people know that PMK is life changing not dieting.

LaWobble · 17/04/2012 21:21

Happy birthday Rosy Thanks

Em2905 · 17/04/2012 21:25

Hello to all you lovely Paul ladies!
I'm new to this and hope you don't mind another voice!?

I'm turned to paul after reaching my heaviest ever, 18st. Blush you are the first people i have ever been honest about my weight to, which scares me.
I'll be 30 in May and my weight is starting to terrifies me, i've tried ever diet imaginable and just feel trapped within this weighted body...

Right, positive thought!
I'm on day 3 and am slowly getting the hang of things. it's hard to remember to down my knife and fork when what i'm eating is so good. it's killing my not having any snacks but i'm hoping that will pass.
what i wanted to ask, how is everyone finding lunches at work? i work at a school and am worried i wont be eating enought or at the right times as a have timed lunch breaks.
Also i just cant eat untill i'm full for breakfast.

sorry to have gone on, i just hope i can stick with it.
Xx
