The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

kinky - dont be too hard on yourself, 17lbs in that short space of time is great i'm very Envy also can you use your extra 49 weekly points for today?

movingonwardsorsidewards · 16/02/2012 23:49

also some of you really seem to be really following it, for some reason i havent, do you think its because i need to do all the visulations and tapping techniques? as i have not tried the tapping thing as for some reason it makes me feel strange Confused

MardyBra · 16/02/2012 23:53

This is being said in a nice and light-hearted jovial way BUT

Can we please banish the Weight Watchers stuff from the thread. Please (again).

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 17/02/2012 07:09

Surely you can't do both? I was at my gym last night listening to them.talking about SW with their point counting and weighing in with such a sense of relief that all that is behind me!
moving I've struggled without the book. I rarely tap to be fair but I think reminding yourself of the key points is vital.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/02/2012 07:48

Phoenix I know from looking at other threads that lots of people find that using PMK alongside a diet helps them stick to that diet.

I confess I would also prefer it if we could keep talk of points etc off this thread please!

I listened to the CD yesterday, and stayed awake throughout! There was a whole part towards the end about self esteem and something else that I had never consciously heard before despite listening to it loads and loads of times before! I can't remember it now, but at the time I was thinking 'ooh this is new'.Grin

boredandrestless · 17/02/2012 08:12

Hi guys, I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't started this yet! I think I need to either get a small stereo to put in my room, or a cheap MP3 player to put CD onto.

I REALLY need to get cracking. My motivation is that I turn 30 in September and I want to be slim by then not fat!

ppeatfruit · 17/02/2012 09:03

Morning all Smile Bored have you got the book 'cos it's easy to start with just that , the C.D can come later.

Arfur well done to yr DH! mine started the Dukan has lost 3 kgs. and given up ! Grin i said why not do P.M. without pork and wheat (for his health) they both make him ill and hell to live with!!! So i THINK he's doing it but he's been in Budapest so while the mouse is away.....!!! Grin

Oh BTW I agree with Ali and phee and MardyI don't want to sound horrid or hypocritical 'cos I do stick to the blood type but it's not a diet it's a way of eating for health (there's no way I 'd eat fake foods) But there are plenty of other sites to chat about points etc.

KinkyDorito · 17/02/2012 13:44

I'm not bothered about discussing WW, that's why I haven't mentioned it before somebody else said they were thinking about it in conjunction with PMK. I only wanted to say I think the two work well if you need the structure.

The main difficulty I've found is on PMK you want to eat far less than the number of 'WW points' you are supposed to.

That is the last I will say on the matter.

I lost another 1lb this week which, after yesterday's rather indulgent meal out, I was happy with. Did I mention the oreo milkshake? Grin

I also got some rather lovely new vegetarian cookbooks through the post, so I might be getting a bit experimental over the weekend.

We went for a big long walk this morning; I bought DS some hiking boots (little skinny legs, giant boots, bless) and we went out for about 90mins in the country. It was lovely - very helpful to stress levels. I would have stayed out much longer, but he'd had enough at that. Not bad for a first attempt. My aim this year is to get out walking properly at weekends. We used to do it when I was a kid, but I've never really taken it up again as an adult. When PMK says to visualise the thinner me, I always picture me out walking up a mountain somewhere. Less imagining, more doing. We can go alternate weekends when DD isn't with us, as there's no way she's up to hiking yet.

I hope you are all okay Smile.

usingapseudonym · 17/02/2012 13:51

Walking sounds good. I used to belong to a walking group pre-kids and loved it! How old os your DS? I'm wondering when my daughter will be up to it.

KinkyDorito · 17/02/2012 13:58

He was 3 just before Christmas, and a lazy boy!! I wouldn't dare go up anything steepn with him yet as he's daft as a brush, but low level, gentle inclines or well-cushioned slopes should be okay.

Solo · 17/02/2012 15:44

Hello all.

Ali hope you are better soon...it's awful isn't it?!
I have a chest infection it would seem and I started ab's this lunchtime. Feel downright dreadful, but the plus side is that after a baaad weekend last weekend (party food, far too many chips ) and going up to just under 13st 11lbs, I'm down to 13st 3 3/4lbs. If I can just kickstart my pauling properly when I am well, then I should be able to get down on the scales a bit more! I'm actually hungry right now, but everything tastes horrid; I can't even drink tea :(

Meant to add that I have a definite shrinkage of my muffin top! Grin

I have just bought the book so marking my place on the thread. Hope you don't mind the hijacking Grin

I am bored of diets now, they just make me eat more.

Time for a change I think.

Will have a good read through the thread when I have finished work.

Solo · 17/02/2012 17:14

Welcome UB you aren't hijacking our thread, everyone is welcome if they want to lose weight without all those stoooopid things mentioned in the title.

This is a great place to have and give support and encouragement in eating well and healthily ~ ie, not eating mindlessly :) so, get stuck in!

ppeatfruit · 17/02/2012 17:18

Utterly you not hijacking all are welcome on here Smile You know there are 7? other threads to read through don't you??Shock

solo that's brill about the muffin top and the loss! Well done!

Kinky Yr. DS is only little; sweet! Has the snow all melted over there? It's still lying in large lumps of ice in the cold spots here, you'd need snow boots up the hills here.

UtterlyButterly · 17/02/2012 17:58

Thank you Solo and Ppeatfruit

7?? I'm going to be busy tonight!!

Will be worth it though, I am determined to change my relationship with food.

BigBoobiedBertha · 17/02/2012 19:03

Hi again.

I have caught up now.

Hello to the newbies. Hope this works for you. Smile

Kinky - sorry to hear about your sister and ex. Unless you think their primary motivation is to hurt you rather than because they are genuinely interested in a relationship you are probably going to have to just grit your teeth and get on with it. No idea what you do if they do just want to hurt you but you need to rise above it if you can for your sake rather than theirs. Easier said than done I know. Not sure I could resist telling them what I thought of them

Solo and Ali - sorry you are both feeling crap. I had a chest infection about 18 months ago so I can relate to how you are feeling Solo. I hadn't really had anything that wrong with me before, not for so long anyway and it is totally exhausting isn't it. Marvellous for weight loss even though all I felt like eating was toast and plain crisps. Blush. Played havoc with my pelvic floor too. Blush Another sign of age.

Had a little weigh in this morning and have lost a couple of lbs so quite happy about that after a week of eating out. It is the extra exercise I am sure - all those walks along the prom with the PIL's dog. DH wants to get one although after FIL's latest illness there is the beginnings of the thought that we might have to take their dog as MIL doesn't want to have to go on walks by herself all the time and FIL isn't up to it. He is increasinly frail and also not inclined to make much effort to build up his stamina either. DS2 is totally besotted with her so he would be over the moon to have her or any dog really. Just me and DS1 who aren't keen. But I have to remember the health benefits for us I suppose.......

Solo · 17/02/2012 19:23

Thanks B yes to exhausting and yes to pelvic floor!!! was soo glad I was already on the throne this morning Grin.

I wont get another dog. I've had 3 of my own and I can't stand the hair everywhere. Must start to walk again though. I just wish it was nicer round here, then it might be more tempting!

sunshineoutdoors · 17/02/2012 20:01

Now I will have a read. Breastfeeding dd at the mo, the only time I really mn, then once she's in bed it's homemade pizza and wedges tonight. I've not read this thread yet but I will keep in mind savouring what I eat and try not to overdo it! Might not get chance to comment again tonight but I will be reading this thread with interest.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 17/02/2012 20:12

Sounds like most people are on the positive side now!
I'm back on it now, went for a run tonight, managed 5k so halfway to the big event!

HeyNonnyNo · 17/02/2012 22:12

Evening all. I suck at this Paul business. I eat cos a child kicks off or irritates me, I eat too much when dh is away and I'm bored and lonely, I eat because the cake's there and so am I. Mostly I eat because I'm exhausted and can persuade myself that bathtime will only be possible with a bit more energy inside me. Does anyone identify with this mess I'm in? How easily was it overcome? I'm all admiration for you all losing so rapidly, and easily, it seems to me! It's not easy for me! Sorry for grumping.
