The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Crazy you just stick to your new way of eating and that should allow you to maintain your new found body etc. No stressing over it, just continue to eat when hungry, eat consciously and stop when full. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it. :)

Good grief, i've blinked and the thread is 5 pages longer! on my phone i'm afraid so there'll be no easy to read paragraphs. well i've been doing it 4 weeks now and have lost 10lbs. it seems to have slipped off my ribcage and slid down to my arse :-) in the last two weeks i've had a birthday and mothers day, both of which were spoilt in part by my dp. i found a perverse pleasure in not resorting to food for comfort. i've even done a pilates-on-a-exercise ball dvd a few times which had been un-opened up for at least two years! hope to comment more later. hello all! :-) x

Solo · 20/03/2012 09:30

Grief! bella, only 5 pages?! we are slipping ladies Grin
Well done on resisting and the pilates and the 8lbs! I have found that as I've aged, my shape has changed, so don't worry about the slippage, it'll go soon enough ~ especially as you are so resolved :)

Hello everyone. The book and CD/DVD arrived yesterday and I have started to read it. I did t get to listen yesterday but will start today and hope to manage it every day whist DS has his lunchtime nap (he's 7mth). I tried this once before years ago, but didn't really commit to the exercises etc so this time I'm going to do it all properly including the 90 day journal bit, which im going to start once I've read the whole book. wish me luck...

amistillsexy · 20/03/2012 12:33

Hi Solo. couldn't reply last night as on phone and not figured out how to post from it yet!

I've read the book, and listened to the cD every night for about 5 nights. I've not started the journal yet, because I want to weigh myself before starting, so I have a comparison. Trouble is, I'm scared to get on the scales, and scared I won't lose on this plan!

Truly, will it work? I'm really sceptical, but nothing else has worked (apart from losing masses on WW about 14 years ago, pre DH and DCs!).

At the moment I feel like using PM is just messing around and not addressing the issue. I'm indoctrinated into believing that only 'strict diets' will work Sad

HeyNonnyNo · 20/03/2012 21:51

Good evening paulers. amI anything is worth a try Grin. I've had a fair day. Managed to feel hungry at points, which is a big deal for me. I even gave dh half my pasta! Am I the only one to find concentrating on eating a bit boring?

Solo · 20/03/2012 22:49

Hi rosalux good luck! we are all here with you :) you can do it.

Ami Take a deep breath and step on those scales. After all, they are going to say less the next time you step on aren't they? :) so yes! it will work; as long as you stick to the rules...You know; PMK is the only weight loss plan that isn't messing around. It doesn't deprive you. It doesn't only allow rabbit food. It doesn't tell you that it's wrong to eat the foods you love. It doesn't tell you you've been BAD. Strict 'diets' don't work. So start being positive because positivity really does aid the whole process :) Keep listening to the cd every day if you can ~ it doesn't matter if you fall asleep whilst listening...in a couple of weeks or sooner if you can, start admiring something about yourself in the mirror. I found this really difficult to do at first, but that actually got easier and it really helped. Drink water often and listen to your body :)

HeyNonny yes it is boring, but what I try to do it picture each mouthful, what I'm chewing etc and that's when I discover whether or not I really enjoy something or I have gone off it.

Hi all i forgot until i saw this thread i have the book i can make you thin and the cd although now its a few years old. Can i still use it.? I was doing this technique a few weeks back but lost all thoughts after being really hungry one evening and not thinking Sad but will try again. A good tip that cut my food intake almost in half is when we had takeawey ie indian instead of eating straight from containers ( saving on washing up)Blush plate meal up and only ate half Smile hope that helps someone. Have been very good today and counted and logged all food eaten.

Solo · 21/03/2012 01:04

Welcome Chirpy get stuck in :)

Hello all
Had a bad day yesterday - lots of snacking Sad
But, today is a new day and I will try harder Smile
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Thetokengirl · 21/03/2012 11:54

Hi Everyone

I posted a few days ago that I had ordered the book. Well, it arrived yesterday and I spent most of yesterday evening reading it. I found it very interesting and liked the 4 rules. I'm not sure I believe all of the things he says, but am willing to give it a go. Didn't get chance to listen to the CD last night, so will make sure I listen to it tonight.
Intetrestingly, I couldn't decide if I was hungry this morning (either was a 2 or a 5!) I put my normal amout of breakfats in my bowl this morning, but just sat and ate, rather than reading/MNing whilst having breakfast and I concertrated on tasting the food. I was amazed at what a difference it made and after only about 1/4 of a bowl, I could tell that it didn't taste as nice any more and I was feeling fuller. It went against all my principles, but I put the rest in the bin Grin.
Was slightly worried I may feel ravenous soon after, but felt ok until mid morning, when I think I was starting to feel hungry, so I had a banana, again I really concentrated on eating it and it tasted lovely!
I am definitely feeling hungry now (a 3?) and am going to go and get a sandwich. However, I am fully prepared to only eat half if I feel full then.
I think it will take a little while to be able to listen to how my body feels and whether I am actually hungry or not, but I am pleased with how this first morning has gone.
Right, off to eat now, so I need to turn the computer off !Grin

Chirpychick2010 · 21/03/2012 12:46

Do i weigh and post weight then weigh a week later and do the same or is rhis a motivation thread only? New to this and have never posted about weight loss before Blush

Thetokengirl · 21/03/2012 12:54

Hi Chirpy
I'm new too, but I guess if it helps we can post weight losses. I've not been brave enough to weigh myself yet! Blush
Good luck.

Chirpychick2010 · 21/03/2012 12:57

Thetokengirl if you don't want to weigh do measurements instead untill you feel more comfortable. Smile .

crazynell · 21/03/2012 15:13

hi chirpy and token, I've started with the cd on sunday, i havent weighed myself - i used to do it every day, so i've sort of trained myself out of doing it and am going to leave it for a while - i'll go by how tight/loose my clothes feel.

I've listened to the cd 3 times so far and am eating w/o reading the paper etc and really trying to concentrate on what i eat. I went out with a friend at lunch time and had a coffee and a scone and as i'm eating it i realised i didn't like the floury bicarb flavour and decided i'd stop eating it and said to my friend - i'm going to save this for later - i didn't want to get into a big conversation about diets etc and this way seemed easiest. Before i'd have carried on whether i liked the taste of it or not - i.e. I'm going to have this cake and i'm going to eat it, whether i'm hungry or not mode

Hows everyone doing?

spendthrift · 21/03/2012 18:23

Not well since Mothering Sunday. Work is a bit c* so guess what? I eat. And have had a few restorative glasses of whatever. And less time for the gym.

But , and I keep trying to hang on to this, am learning the hungry feeling again.

Chirpychick2010 · 21/03/2012 19:18

Crazynell hi Grin ive had a fairly good day apart from getting home late 6.30 and going to the chip shop as was desperate for food but will have this as my night off Sad but i will keep trying as one slip needn't mean the end perseverance i think is the key. Smile

Thetokengirl · 21/03/2012 19:26

Chirpy I think I will measure myself, probably tonight. Hope the chips were nice :o, you could still do it with those and not finish them couldn't you? Although I suspect easier said than done.
Crazy Well done with leaving the cake. I left 1/3 of my sandwich which felt weird, but I enjoyed it! whereas I'm normally so busy wolfing it down that I don't notice.
Going to eat dinner in the kitchen tonight, rather than on my knee in front of the tv Blush. Hoping DH joins me or I may be lonely :o

Chirpychick2010 · 21/03/2012 20:57

I did enjoy my chips and didnt leave many Sad my fault for getting to the point of starvation as i missed breakfast had an early lunch then was busy till late. Ill do better tomorrow promise!!! Smile

bellastella · 21/03/2012 21:33

hello all, doing ok here. got a fat neck and horrid sore throat. i keep swigging cough mixture from the bottle and it's kind of taking the edge off of my appetite. only really enjoying hot drinks as they burn some of the ming off!

went out for a drink last night with a mate, was quite pi**ed after 2 glasses of pink wine due in part to the smaller amounts of food i've been having. i can see this leading to cheaper nights out if it'll only take me 3 drinks to get trollyed Grin

nice to see lots of new people Smile

Solo · 22/03/2012 00:56

Glad to see you are all doing well :)

Fish and chips are fine if that's what you want and you follow the rules!

Weighing in is better done fortnightly or even monthly, but we know it's more motivating to see the scales go down, so fortnightly rather than weekly is better (if you can).

It was my birthday and I went for lunch with friends and Mum...enjoyed myself!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 22/03/2012 07:25

Oh happy birthday for yesterday Solo! Grin

I am struggling at the moment. DS2 isn't sleeping well at all, he is awake loads in the night and I am tired which is always a bit of a disaster from an eating point of view.
Managing not to put any weight on though which is a bonus.

I will get back there, I just need some sleep!
