The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Yes, pains in legs increased a few days ago...may carry on a bit longer (if I can afford to), but if pork bargains come up...

Got my Pmk book today!! :)

BigBoobiedBertha · 13/03/2012 19:00

Crikey you all dropped off my 'Threads I'm on'. Must have been a while since I posted.

Not much happening here so I haven't got much to tell and only posting so you don't disappear again for another few days.

Congrats to the losers especially Ali as 10 years is a long time - presumably you were still at school then? Grin

Solo - bacon butties is all I have to say - how can they be wrong?Grin

Kinky - sorry to hear your DD isn't well. I hope she is feeling better.

Solo · 13/03/2012 21:41

Hey BBB :) wondered where you were. Yum! to bacon butties....

I am self sabotaging again. Everytime I get to two stones off, I have a feeding frenzy :( and my bloody mother is not helping me or her by having boxes of Belgium chocolates in her house. No wonder she has got bigger. And in one breath she tells me she's really proud of me, the next she's offering chocolates and I'm eating them. Angry I know I should have one or two, but I can't. I now do not want to step on the scales...:(

Having big fat pity party today. Need to stay away from the cupboards.

ppeatfruit · 14/03/2012 08:43

Morning all!! Smile BBB I'd say GOUT to bacon butties!! DH gets terrible gout type pains when he eats it and they have all gone away since he's stopped eating it in Lent (you can have a fried egg butty instead!).

C'mon now Solo step away from the chox and kink choose wisely from the cupboards Smile you know you can!!!! (I read yr blog and couldn't comment on it 'cos i'm not a technical enough! but you know you have my full sympathy and send you and DD 2 of the biggest hugs ever Smile)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 14/03/2012 09:55

Oh kinky Sad (hugs)

Ppeat you won't persuade me about pork, it is delicious in all forms, and in these times of rising food prices it is the cheapest lean meat by a significant margin.
Perhaps it does affect some people adversely, but I can't say that I'm one of them. Thankfully, because I do love a bacon butty! GrinWink

Solo · 14/03/2012 12:45

Kinky I have limited time, but will look at your blog soon. Try to be strong.

I did step on the scales and I'm very annoyed at myself! STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!! I have never tried the tapping by myself, but I'm definitely going to as this is ridiculous!

Ali that is why I usually buy as much pork as I do. It is by far the cheapest and we all get sick of chicken, we don't like turkey and my Mum, bless her has been buying beef for us to go along with the no pork thing. I'm beginning to dislike beef. I bought some diced lamb yesterday that was reduced (ha!). It was £3.95 for 350g. I tried to imagine it divided in three...that'd be three maybe four mouthfuls each then.

Have a good day all.x

Hey all. Sorry I've been a bit quiet lately. Turns out I have a uti hence why I've been feeling like crap for a week. At least now I'm on antibiotics and should be better by my 10k a week on Sunday.
kinky I will read your blog when I get to my iPad.
solo, give yourself a break :) I think I need to do the tapping myself. I've been sugar mad lately.

BigBoobiedBertha · 14/03/2012 20:32

Kinky - I am reading your blog. I hope you don't mind if I comment. Just wanted you to know somebody had seen it and your weren't talking to yourself. Smile

Solo - it is probably a good thing you got on the scales. Whatever they said at least you know and have confronted the situation rather than burying your head in the sand and hoping that it will be OK. Let the scales motivate you.

ppeat - apparently all white meat causes gout (been reading up on arthritis and joint conditions - see below) - does your DH have the same problem with chicken?

Talking of gout I had a bit of a joint related reality check last week. On Monday I went to the docs as I have had a lump on my little finger joint that has been growing and is occasionally painful. It seems it is a cyst (ganglion) but the doctor also confirmed that I have arthritis and most of my finger joints are a bit swollen. It isn't a surprise as my mother and grandmother both had/have it and genes can be unkind! And then on Friday I went to the opticians and was told I need new glasses as my eye sight has got worse. Frankly I feel a bit of a crock at the moment - none of it is a big deal and in the great scheme of things it barely registers but just makes me feel a bit older than usual.

On the plus side I had my hair cut for the first time since August and although I didn't have a lot off the length, she sorted my fringe out and it all feels better. Trying to enjoy it before it starts going proper grey - I think, after all the other stuff, it won't be long!!

Hope everybody is feeling OK today - there seems to be a lot of 'bleurgh' around!

ppeatfruit · 15/03/2012 08:32

Morning all Smile just popping in 'cos I'm going out today. No BBB with DH it's only pork that gives him gout He's an O type and they're good with most meat especially if not eaten with carbs Grin. IMO and E it's the COMBINING of protein and carbs that give the arthritisy pains. That's why I don't have arthritis even though it's in my family too. Grin

Solo · 15/03/2012 13:59

Hi all :) back on the wagon today!

OP posts:
arfur · 15/03/2012 16:01

Was going to say have fallen off the wagon and it's gone so far into the distance I can barely see it but tomorrow is another day BUT you know what? The old me would have taken it as carte blanc to eat myself silly for the rest of the day but I am not that person anymore and am going to reset now at 4.02 and get back on the wagon right now! I love pm Grin

HeyNonnyNo · 15/03/2012 22:10

Hey paulers. I'm with arfur. I can't do this without you guys.

Solo · 15/03/2012 23:08

Come on girlies!! jump aboard, we are picking up speed again! Grin welcome aboard again :) it was a temporary blip, nothing permanent at all and certainly not insurmountable. And hands off PM, he's mine!! Grin

How's everyone else doing?

OP posts:
HeyNonnyNo · 16/03/2012 04:43

Solo, thank you. It's gone well since last post, but I was asleep!

KinkyDorito · 16/03/2012 09:16

Gah.

Still off work; she's very, very grotty and had big chemo on top yesterday. Plus they have confirmed she will need genetic tests for other disorder and a scan to check her heart/liver/pancreas. I am just praying they sort it out soon and that there isn't a problem with any of them.

I found myself eating many, many biscuits in a mindless panic. It is definitely the first thing I do when I feel overwhelmed. My hand goes into cupboard or fridge. It's such a tough habit to break. I was doing so well too, with eating and exercise, and it's all stopped.

I'm also incredibly broody and feel fed up that if this hadn't happened we'd be going for DC3. DH is 39 this year and not that up for a new baby after 40. We're too skint to afford matty leave; and obviously there is the huge stress for at least another year with DD. Sad

HeyNonnyNo · 16/03/2012 09:26

kinky both kids yelling so can't do a long one but have a virtual hug and take care of yourself please.

ppeatfruit · 16/03/2012 10:25

Hello everyone!! Smile I didn't have time to say yesterday but a bit of inspiration for you . I went out in an 10\12 SKIRT yesterday (I haven' t worn one for about 3 and a half yrs. Shock it didn't fitcomfortably at all when I bought it; A straight stretch denim under the knee one with a front slit and I took heels to change into 'cos i was driving; even the shoes are comfortablish Grin now!! You loose from yr feet as well Grin.

Kinks Sad Listen to the C.D. to help with the emotional eating.

I'm off to Blighty tomorrow so speak to you next Fri. Keep well ladies xx

Solo · 16/03/2012 12:53

HeyNonny Grin

Kinky I don't know what to say :( but you are stronger than you know. As much as it pains us, everything happens that is supposed to happen, so if you are destined for number 3, you will do it. And 40 is not old! . Take care of yourself and maybe try tapping when you get the cupboard urges...

pp see you soon.x

Kinky I have no idea how you are getting through this but we're all thinking of you if that helps at all.

Quick update - have been using the app for 2 weeks now, whilst in the UK for work and to see family. That time has included 2 transatlantic flights with 2 small children on my own, looking after said children on my own with no break and many, many opportunities (and normally a big need!) for emotional eating. I was hoping PM would stop me putting on weight but I have actually lost 4lbs. With no real effort. Wow!

It feels like PM has kept me calmer. Just need to keep it up now I'm back in the US and suffering massive jet lag. It's 3am here and I've been awake for an hour... Must get back to sleep!

spendthrift · 17/03/2012 22:32

Kinky, I read your blog and have been very moved by it. I am lighting candles in my mind for you all. Cherish yourself as well as Dd and if that means chocolate, make it the nicest you can.

I'm still eating far too much but, and it is a but, am beginning to find useful that feeling that if I want something I can have it later if I am hungry. Somehow it eases the desire for instant gratification although I am still giving in too easily. But a skirt is starting to feel looser. So I need to keep going.

Tell me it gets easier, someone.

What have been the best bits for you?

What are your best tips, MRs?

HeyNonnyNo · 17/03/2012 23:24

Wow mrs olf nice one. Wish there was an Android app, I think it sounds helpful. With 2 small people its tricky to find time to listen to the cd or read the book. The urge to munch usually hits at times when the tapping technique would only exacerbate the situation I.e. kids being awful and demanding.
spendthrift I don't feel I've cracked it after 2 months, but posting and listening are the two major success factors I've identified so far (that and my life being carefree and peaceful! Hmm

crazynell · 18/03/2012 12:08

listened to the cd this morning for the 1st time -- excited to see what next ......

Solo · 18/03/2012 12:18
