The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Whoop whoop Ali that's fantastic! Have some more Thanks
Bella I know what you mean in that if you're 100% going with what you fancy, you go off some foods and don't want meals with family. I manage it by avoiding snacking or having something very light, if I know we'll be eating dinner soon and trying to cook what I fancy. It has meant recently DH and I have had different meals a couple of times. I think it's about going with the flow food wise. I drink tea, squash and water.

crazynell · 11/03/2012 12:40

Thanks for your welcome. ok folks - what have i got to do to get started? get the book ? Do i have to listen to the cd everyday? when ? is there an iPhone app or something?
here i go-ooooo :)

crazynell · 11/03/2012 12:46

BTW would it help for me to find a hypnotherapist? has anyone here done this?
Whats about NLP? are there any books on this that anyone can recommend?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 11/03/2012 12:46

Well someone has the iPhone app, seems it's quite good. Most of us have the most recent book, it's colour and comes with the cd and the first dvd of a set with the lure of the rest of the dvd set on offer which you can get on amazon for about £8 - see the link at the start of the thread - welcome aboard!

ppeatfruit · 11/03/2012 12:53

Yes Ali That is just brilliant Smile!!. I only tend to go 'off' my meals when there's too much on the plate and i'm full.

I always have a glass of filtered water with me (the filter makes a lot of difference to the flavour BTW) and also drink herbal teas with 2 Tbags (you get more taste with the 2 bags) camomile at night and a mix of mintgreen and mint tea, also sometimes lemon and ginger in the day.

I drink a cup of ground decaff coffee approx. once a week with frothy soya milk with spices and honey and a cup of chicory 'pretend' coffee or cocoa prepared the same as the coffee whenever I fancy one.

Deadsouls · 11/03/2012 14:46

Hiya, so just wondering which edition of the PM book most of you have, there's the old one and then the new edition, which is better?

The thing about eat what you want - but what if all you want is pizza, crisps, chocolate and general crap???

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 11/03/2012 19:12

Get the colour book that's slightly newer if you can. It's got more in it and has been updated. It's got pictures too.
Yes, eat whatever you want, so pizza, crisps, whatever. The idea is that if you trust your instincts, you'll end up eating a balanced diet. It took me a while to settle, it felt strange eating whatever I wanted and I did lean towards eating more junk. Now I'm pretty sure I'm eating a balanced diet.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 11/03/2012 19:12

Dead I was on the Paul McKenna online forums about a year ago, and there was a lady on there who had ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner when she first started out. After a few days of this she started craving healthier food. In the book it highlights an experiment where a group of toddlers were given access to any food they wanted over a period of time, junk food, fruit, veggies, proper meals, etc. When they analysed what they had eaten (I can't remember the time-frame), the toddlers had eaten what amounted to a balanced diet.

I think the crux of it is that our bodies ultimately know what we need, so once you get rid of the psycological issues/obsessions you will eat what you need in the quantity you need. The 'eat what you want' part of it is to take away the associations you have with certain foods, eg I 'deserve this chocolate as a reward/cos it's TOTM' 'I'm being naughty having this piece of cake' 'I'm being good having this apple'. Food just becomes food if you do it properly.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 11/03/2012 19:13

The new book has a journal to, to remind you to do the exercises, drink your water, follow the rules, etc.

crazynell · 11/03/2012 19:50

i've ordered the latest book - and the success diary !! :)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 12/03/2012 00:25

Thanks everyone Smile

I echo what has been said about the 'what', it will sort itself out if you just go with it. All my anxiety around food is gone pretty much. I don't worry about what I'm having, what I might be missing out on, when the next meal is, none of it. It is so liberating and if you are just starting this you will be there soon!

KinkyDorito · 12/03/2012 01:38

Bit off track with PMK. Need taking gently by the hand and leading back into the fold!

Sat waiting to get blood results for DD to see if we will have to stay in hospital again.

Gives me time to read and catch up. Wink

I want to go to bed. I've been running around like an nutter since 9pm when my Mum called to say she wasn't well (she was spending a couple of days with them). So 2.5hr round trip to collect her, bring her to hospital, and now waiting to see what happens next. And I was just getting into the swing of being back at work.

Memo to me: stop getting hopes up.

KinkyDorito · 12/03/2012 01:44

Ali

Your weight loss is fantastic!!!!

Grin Grin Grin

Well done.

ppeatfruit · 12/03/2012 09:22

Morning all Smile Oooh Sad kinky Hope your mum's okay. The thing with eating crap deadsouls When you're REALLY in the P.M. mode you eat so slowly that the SHXX tastes like what it is; disgusting fake food so you CAN'T eat it ( I must say I'm not sure how anyone can eat a creme egg really slowly without throwing up but some on here seem to be able to Grin.!!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 12/03/2012 09:46

ppeat - I don't eat slowly. It is the one rule I don't follow. Mealtimes are a hurried affair often and I am generally helping both boys with their own meal plus trying to get some admin or something done while I've got the pair of them pinned into their chairs Grin
Dinner I eat more slowly, but that is once they have gone to bed. Creme Eggs are by definition a snack and therefore to be wolfed in the kitchen whilst completing other tasks Grin

kinky oh I really hope you got home and got some sleep, poor you and DD.

Solo · 12/03/2012 10:22

Morning!

Didn't someone ask about real life hypnotherapy to go along side this? I suppose it could be useful, but I don't think any of us have had this (except at the seminar and that was slightly different I think), so not sure it's necessary considering how much weight we've lost collectively!

Kinky hope Dd is Ok and get your arse back here m'dear! so that we can encourage you :)

ppeatfruit · 12/03/2012 12:33

Solo You made me remember the seminar I LOVED that trance we went into it was brill!! Smile I remember how fast I went 'under'!!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 12/03/2012 17:09

Oh kinky. Hope you got some sleep and DD is ok. Don't be too hard on yourself.
The price of NLP/hypnosis always put me off. Locally it's about £50 for a consultation and then 40-odd after that. I'm quite happy with the results from Pauling anyway.

UtterlyButterly · 12/03/2012 17:11

I am feeling really good about this today! I have listened to the CD four times and I can feel whether I am full or not which is a miracle for me.

I am chosing the right foods too, I actually enjoyed an apple Shock

I just hope it lasts long enough to lose some weight!!!

usingapseudonym · 12/03/2012 17:25

Hello again! I lost the thread and then lost the plot a bit (!). Definitely emotional eating and eating as I'm tired. A crisp multipack is a bad thing...

Will try to get back on board. I need to have more food in the house though, I've lost all inspiration for interesting meals but there's only so much toast you can eat.

On the plus side I don't appear to have put on weight but I haven't lost. And I will now have to start my PMK journal again. Grrr. Feel really disappointed. I guess at least with a weightloss plan/diet you are given food lists and part of my problem is I get so tired that I just cant think about dinner/cooking by mid afternoon!

Grump over. Not sure when I can next watch/listen...

Hope everyone is doing ok!

crazynell · 12/03/2012 20:33

sorry, but where is this hungry thread (400 cals) what is it called? ppeatfruit i want to have a nose - and i'm feeling like a need something to get angry about :)

Solo · 12/03/2012 23:52

Crazy it's a thread from a few weeks back; bloody stupid and I'll never get that 10 minutes of my life back! so I really wouldn't bother with it...there are bound to be a few more threads to get angry about that aren't a complete waste of your time :)

UB and seu hello again!

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 13/03/2012 07:47

Morning all Smile crazy have you been rereading the last thread? . It wasn't a 400cal diet we all were confused on that thread and the poster (I think it was called something like 'I'm soo hungreee' )was as Solo said misguided Grin we were trying to put her right.

using Do you have time to cook on ONE day of the weekend or whatever and freeze some of it? I find that works well for us.

Solo · 13/03/2012 12:33

Hi all.

I have done two weeks pork free and have noticed no difference at all in any part of my life. I shall, I think, be returning to pork products :)

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 13/03/2012 14:38

Congrats!! good for you Solo maybe try for a bit longer; are the pains still the same? Do you know the only meat that not one blood type should eat is you guessed it!, pork 'cos it's very high in putrescine, high acid forming. You'd do yourself loads of good not eating it believe me.
